you know, I've always wondered-- are these brown women in anime supposed to be black or tan? Like that one girl in Persona 3, who kinda looks like she has blackface on, but also looks like any other anime chick...

Well, the reasoning behind it is worthwhile. That "gaming forum" treats anyone who is genuinely excited about any game that hasn't yet achieved mainstream approval as a shill, and that attitude sucks shit. Clownfuckers who blindly belch out "generic, lol" at every opportunity, those are the fuckers that should be dogged on. Except, that'd be seemingly the vast majority of posters on that board.
dude...you have yet to post one positive thing on the gaming side of this site (okay, you've posted one, you like prototype), why are you so adamant about bringing a positive poster here? 
I've posted plenty of positive things on the gaming side. It's not my fault that you guys only hover over threads dedicated to flawed games.
Besides, that's not really the point. On NeoGAF, I was accused of being a shill because I had the audacity to be interested in a specific game, and going as far as to make threads where I merely reposted information as reported by other sites was apparently just too fucking much for that board to handle. Lord knows no one should have the nerve to make threads about games they are (cautiously) excited about, right? I'm sure I would have eventually been accused of being a paid shill for Obsidian or Sega for being excited about Alpha Protocol, the latest game to fall into the whole NeoGAF groupthink phenomenon, and of the general widespread acceptance of garbage commentary. Unless it's reached a level of mainstream popularity that satisfies the hive (with the exception of the odd artsy/indie shit game), it's going to be considered crap and/or generic, and people interested are at some point going to hear that they are paid shills. Which is bullshit for any gaming forum.
Which this isn't, so fuck this.
well, I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with some assholes. The best anyone can do is keep supporting the games they like while ignoring the naysayers. If you get banned, come here and bitch about it and most will agree you got fucked. If you have a real problem with someone, then tell a mod they keep shitting on your threads.
Posting a positive opinion or trying to discuss a game shouldn't come off as shilling to mods, unless you don't go into threads not about it and say "hay guys, I know this thread is about X, but here's Y!!"
edit: although, shit, I got banned by sp0rsk for logically showing him how his impressions of Ninja Gaiden are wrong...in a thread about NGII with people spamming full-res DMC4 pics :roll but I guess he won't be a problem anymore.
