this analogy makes no sense. unlike the pc, the wii's library is all shovelware targeting casuals and non-gamers, and i am not sure what used copies of old sports games have to do with anything. buy a 360!

I think he's mistaking bashing the wii's library for having a large proportion of bad games to a small number good ones for bashing the wii's library just because those games are present.  or some other LSAT shit like that.

PC gaming is still superior, but isn't the best time to be a PC gamer.  Games are now made for console audiences in mind instead of the other way around, the whole DRM issue is getting ridiculous; then again there are great things like Steam being the closest thing to a PC platform and just cost wise PC gaming being a lot more accessible now.  Most of the great PC stuff comes from Europe now.  Stalker Witcher

Ehn, I kind of agree with him.  I've met a lot of different kinds of people, and within the "socially normal" portion of humanity, I think gamers are among the worst.  Angry, bitter, awkward, typically misogynistic, generally pretty poor critical thinkers... I wouldn't want to share an apartment with most gamers, I'll put it that way.

That's why it's important to stick to forums like this one.  EB enjoys taking the piss, no doubt, but I think for the most part this board has the upper crust of gamers.  Except Himuro.  Leper that filth.

Go read the Zelda thread in the gaming forum.  The OP has no thought put into it and looks like huge juicy troll bait (it isn't), yet a decent conversation about 2D vs. 3D nintendo took place.  Same thing on gaf would've been fire and brimstone and me getting banned.  Same goes for a lot of threads here and when people argue, it seems like its more for fun than the insane psychoanalytic bullshit that gaf pulls.  Just look at the GoW2 and Resistance 2 review threads--everybody's trying to uncover the true bias in the posts that don't completely agree/disagree with the review scores. The way people scour each other's posts is insanity, though fun to watch.

I avoid gaming conversation too, with strangers.  If I had irl friends who were as into it, I'd probably talk a little more about it, though I like typing/writing better
