Achievements, perhaps, but trophies? I don't understand them. What is the level system all about? And you actually have to spend time synchronizing them, even if you're just looking at your own trophies. And then there is the issue with trophies locking your saves, so you can't easily back shit up these days. It's so half-assed.

When you actually talk to normal people who like games they generally actually like videogames. They don't troll games or systems and they don't spend 90% of their time whining. They simply talk about what they like.

The gaming side of GAF is a trainwreck.

The Off Topic side there has its issues but in comparison to the gaming side it's a haven and you can actually discuss things.

I haven't read the thread in question or played Bayonetta, but I think the difference between Bayonetta & DMC or NG or GoW is obviously the oversexualized lead female character and what I would guess are a lot of sex jokes/metaphors.  

I'd feel fine playing DMC/NG with girls, but I think playing Bayonetta would be awkward with women because of that.  GoW is kinda of as well because of the oversexualized Kratos, but just going by the advertising I think Bayonetta focuses on the T&A more.

Yeah I don't like the uberviolence or tities in GoW and I think the spiders crawling out of the nipples of women in Dante's Inferno looks awkwaredly embarrassing as well.

I meant it like I wouldn't be embarrassed watching (with women) Dante riding a missle like a surfboard and cracking lame jokes while fighting with people in DMC3 because that's just silly fun that everyone can laugh at and enjoy.  I would be embarrassed to play a game (with women) where a woman strips her clothes off everytime she does a special attack.

Yeah, definitely agree. While I find it highly disturbing, I definitely won't begrudge or judge someone cause they like it. Same thing with Bayonetta (which I'm guessing is very sexual and that sort of humor?).

duckman, I've seen you mention your dislike of ODSTs cutscenes a few times.  What's your main complaint with them?  There wasn't excess swearing or violence or nudity or anything.  I thought they had a lot of tact that you don't see in these FPS games anymore.

They were just cheesy beyond belief (not all, just a few select ones). I didn't mind the foul language in KZ2 either, but the cheesiness and shitty writing was embarrassing. I don't mind an honest "fucking shit man," but it was so misplaced, like something was lost in translation from the original language. Cut-scenes in ODST for their part felt poorly directed, humans were bug ugly, so the cutscenes were borderline painful to watch. Even more embarrassing is that they got a bunch of "stars" to voice the characters.

I was teasing. I have no dog in that hunt. Honestly I play FPS games almost solely for the action rather than the story. I just used it as an excuse to post a fanboy thread.
