With the wii being more popular than anyone could have anticipated, I think niche hardcore gamers are pretty justified in feeling alienated. I mean who does Nintendo think they are trying to appeal to the jocks who beat us up in high school, the cheerleaders who ignored us, the so-called "normals" who, until now, have been so pleasantly excluded from our sacred hobby. But they are winning them over. At this rate videogames will no longer be the exclusive domain of the true hardcore gamers and we have nintendo -- and their idiotic fans -- to blame for this. So in order to keep our dignity and keep those non-game playing fools in their place I think we need to think of new ready-made insults to make them feel the proper shame for ruining our hobby.

I've seen people completely destroyed at GAF for posting a LOT less than that shit. I'm telling you man, it's like the wolves smell blood as soon as someone mentions the fact that they're a Christian.

Now, I'll certainly give you that most Christians are looney tunes. But, for instance, I'm a Catholic. I'm fairly unsure of my religion right now due to the seeming-absurdness of it. I mean a guy performing magic and stuff, and rising from the dead? Seems incredibly unlikely. But religion does have its nice things. I really don't have any problems with the morals it tries to teach people to have, and I'll be damned if the idea of a heaven and hell doesn't sound a LOT more fucking appealing than just turning to worm food when I die.

Christians get persecuted every single day, but they still choose to be Christians (ZING*). That being said, in America this is not really the case; it's certainly not like China, where you can be officially tortured and killed for religious beliefs. On GAF there is a mentality that Christianity is bad and stupid, and nothing is done. If I were to make a thread mocking Muslim women for their reserved dress I would be banned. Yet there have been entire threads where people have ridiculed Christians for very similar things. Everyone sees it, there's no point in denying it. If GAF wants to be as closed minded and "stupid" as the people they mock it's fine with me.

That said, I think when you see a lot of outrage over Christianity on GAF, it's because people are upset over the large amount of completely illegal influence it has over our country.  Anyway, I am a firm believer that religion should generally be a private thing, but if a thread were started on GAF to have a serious religious discussion amongst other members, I'd ban if people got in the way with stupid trolling.  In fact, I have banned for that already.
