That Otaku Tour video made me both burst out laughing and cringe at the same time. The horrible attempts to speak Japanese and the maid cafe being the worst.

On the subject of maids: I think I said this before, but I think that goofy shit might be finally dying down. Only saw a few of them in Akihabara last week, as opposed to tons and tons of them all over the place last summer. My fiance wanted to take a picture with one them, and they told us we had to go to a maid cafe to take pics. Fuck that shit. Then as we were walking down the street, a maid walks by, followed by some old men not even attempting to hide that they were trying to glance up her skirt. I almost felt bad for her until I remembered that she chose to do this for a living.

Pretty much. I didn't go into one, but the girls stand around Chuo-dori (the main street in Akihabara) handing out fliers and/or packs of tissues advertising the cafe they work at, hoping you'll go. Seemed really shady/creepy to me.
