I never felt like explicit language and graphic violence were what made these films good. Though annoyed by the PG-13, I never understood why people thought it would cause the films to suck ass.

What? Half of what made Die Hard so popular in the first place was that you had a regular Joe cop, overcoming the odds, a lack of crazy special effects, and lots of violence and profanity.

I watched that 10 minute preview and it didn't feel like Die Hard. Every review I've read hasn't made me think Die Hard.

Is it possibly a decent high budget action flick? Maybe, but its not Die Hard.

What does any of that have to do with the ratings? All of it can be done within the boundaries of PG-13.

Yeah it's more PoTC-ish and cheesy sidekick (lolz mac age cigarillo) giving stupid questions so Bruce Willis can give stupid one liners. I don't like that mac-man in my Die Hard.

Some? With a Vengeance has more cursing than the first two combined. And a sign that says "I HATE distinguished black fellows" And 2 has a icicle go through a guy's eye.

Pesky internet critics are pulling the rating down. Cream of the crop remains strong

Its good to see some redress of the blockbuster balance, with Ratatouille, as expected, cleaning up and good buzz behind Transformers.
I'm speaking on all accounts though, I haven't gone to the cinema in two years (!)

The trailers paint it as more of a Michael Bay film than even Transformers appears to be.

Given the praise, halfhearted or not, I'm interested in seeing how a PG-13 Die Hard turned out.

The rating is mind boggling. The demographic that is going to see Die Hard is much older. Hell, my MOTHER, who is now 50-years-old, without me saying ANYTHING, said she was going to see but was unhappy that it was rated PG-13. Why FOX would alienate that demographic is crazy. The fanbase for the series is very solid as the films have aged well with time, and it attracts younger, older, male and female viewer.
