So I spent $15 of saved up Google Opinion Rewards bux when the update hit phones and ever since I have fucking SUCKED in arena. I regret spending $15 of app money because I wanna just quit playing this stupid-ass game. I've had the feeling before, but haven't been able to break the hold of playing such a casual game I can play while doing other things. I find grinding ladder to be boring as hell, tbh, and almost only do it for daily quests. I am poor/hate myself.

PS: I have been taking my meds irregularly. Jesus. This post is embarrassing.

I still love the game, but I make sure I keep playing other games. I find if I exclusively play Hearthstone, I get burned out pretty quickly or let RNG really get me down.

I never have a bad time playing Priest in casual. It's always fun to me. That's kind of my fallback option whenever I get sick of ladder/arena.

In my last 5 packs, I've gotten 2 gold rares, 1 Troggzor, 1 Deathwing and a second copy of Dr. Boom.

I still play Hearthstone every week, but not as much as last year. I just do all the dailies while trying to climb the ladder with my druid deck. Got to rank 10 last month that way and 9 in March

I just had a 9 win Paladin run in Arena. Got a golden Inner Fire (that I dusted), 185 gold, and a pack with two rares and a golden legendary (Mogor the Ogre). I LIKE THIS GAME AGAIN.

Also: I now have enough dust to craft another legendary. Thinking Sylvanas.

Edit: Yeah, Toxic, you should wait for that nerf.

Stick to the level playing field of arena though till you have some cards to make a deck.

I already had a Boom. That was my second one. So, now i have to hold onto it in case he ever gets nerfed and I can get full value for it.

It sucks though, now I can't quickly dust my rares/commons anymore. I have to manually do it.

This game isn't P2W, it's more 'pay to have fun'. You can make cheap, winning decks ... but they usually end up being mindless aggro decks. When you get more cards, you get more options and can make more interesting decks.

I think the one thing you do 'need' to own is the Naxx adventure. There are too many strong cards in that set to pass it up.

I'm too bummed at the gold I've missed to come back to this really. I paid more than I'm comfortable with to get to a fun place before Naxx and any kind of catch up device is detrimental to the game's cash flow, so.

So apparently a bunch of coworkers are closet Blizzard nerds and so I'm back to playing Hearthstone. The nearby players feature is pretty entertaining in a work environment.

Having a much better time of it now that I don't care much about optimizing Dailies Gold.

finally started getting semi-serious about HS a month or two back and make sure to do the dailies and found some good Arena guides. I stopped awhile back because my Arena decks were always a sloppy unbalanced mess and go 0-3/1-3 there constantly what's the point?

3000 dust and 2300 gold. I'll probably put 20 dollars down also. I had more dust, but I needed to craft Ysera.

I like the mechanics of Joust and Inspire, even though you won't really be able to build a competitive deck around the idea (solely).

I'm either going to build a "flipping" Priest deck or a spell-based, tempo Hunter deck. I really like Lock-n-Load.

Played for the first time in forever yesterday. I still haven't unlocked all the basic cards, and have two crappy custom decks. Friend in Cali sees me on, asks me to play a friendly game. He rolls out a Patron Warrior deck and finally gets the combo he wants. Jesus, I don't think I'm ever going to play on that level. Is there a "casual dweebs league"?

I think they added the Tavern Brawl each week to provide a more casual atmosphere, but playing your own decks in even Casual Mode is pretty brutal.

Yeah, but Tavern Brawl only unlocks for Level 20 Heroes, so even that is not casual enough for my casualness-ness.

Yeah, neither did the friend who brutalized me. He actually invited me on to get in on the Brawl, and then I couldn't join. So now I'm grindan' in single player until I can get enough cards to make even a basic deck. If that gets me to 20, I'll Brawl.

2 Legendaries, 9 Epics, 29 Rares (2 Golden), one Golden Common, and 390 Dust (De-dusted one of the Golden Rares)

Pretty happy. The two legendaries were Dreadscale and VARIAN WRYNN.

Used 2300 gold to buy packs. Got nothing.

Spent 20 dollars and got Acidmaw, IceHowl and The Mistcaller. (Conspiracy!)

Only had time to play around with Dragon Priest. The new cards really help make it more reliable. The hard part is figuring out what spells to include.

Playing against Warrior is hard as hell now. You don't know if you're going to be dealing with Patron, Control or Taunt variant.

Yea, I would. Ysera can be used in Dragon Priest, too. Although Alex is more of a reliable win condition in Control Warrior.

I've been actually trying to grind the ranked ladder a bit for the first time due to the chest rewards. Succumbed for the first time to using Face Hunter for any amount of time, but since TGT came out, I've been using a slight variation of this Shaman Totem deck.

Nothing wrong with that, all depends on what level you want to compete.

Making your own decks is fun and frustrating, lets also be honest, if you play enough even without netdecking you see hpw the popular decks are built

Beast druid is rank 14 now, it doesnt have card draw (took that out) but it seems to be working for now.

Yea, Arena matches seem to go like this:

Player A hits a nice curve and controls the board for the first 4 rounds, gets an Inspire minion to stick on the board by turn 5. Player B expends all his resources to get the Inspire minion off the board and runs out of steam, never draws AOE. Game over by turn 8 or 9.

It's very "snowball-y" if you know what I mean. There is rarely a match where you see wild swings in control (unless a mage has multiple Flamestrikes or a Paladin that got the equality/consecrete combo).

Read up online on what it took to get up to it and I realized how much further back I was than everyone else already playing so I quit.

That shit's a straight up grindwall without paying in, it's crazy.

The game is a marathon, not a sprint. You either have to accept that, or find a different game.

Even if you had access to "all the cards", there is a huge component of knowing how to play the cards, anticipating what the opponent will play and having the right counters to what is in the meta. You can only gain that knowledge by hours and hours of playing.

Even when you get to "that point" (where you have all the cards and a ton of knowledge) many games can be decided by simple RNG. If you got of a good Implosion on turn 8 or your opponent's Ragnaros hit a 25% face shot in consecutive turns. That's why even the very best players can still lose 45% of the time.
