I will be there. Possibly drunk.
In the case that I can't make it tomorrow, would someone be able to draft for me? I'd pm them my depth chart of course
I should be there, but sometimes sunday school goes a little long
btw what's the draft order? Who gets first pick
Same.
I missed the draft. :(
I missed the draft. :(
For the last time: YOU'RE NOT IN THE LEAGUE! You signed up for the pick 'em.
Willco- team defenses are gay, and not the good kind- I mean the HAPPY kind. There's a reason you got Peppers and Ware- click on your team and look at how many points they put up last year. Then click on my team and look at how many points my bruisers put up.

So the point system skews in favor of tackles over stuff like turnovers and sacks? That's pretty stupid.
The Russians will have a stacked team. If they show up and care a little, they can easily beat Canada.
in serious, though, I'm not sure how Ovechkin + Malkin = stacked team.
in serious, though, I'm not sure how Ovechkin + Malkin = stacked team.
I don't know how the two best hockey players help make a team stacked. And Kovalchuk, Datsyuk, Semin, Radulov, Kovalev, and Nabokov sure won't help. :dur
What kind of bullshit derail is this garbage?
I can't believe Yzerman didn't ask Bertuzzi to join the team again! :P

Go to court this friday, boogie

Another classic NFL OT. Coin toss = win. Ridiculous.
That's your argument for why it got to OT to begin with. Then again, Ward possibly could have scored at the end of the 4th quarter and those two fgs wouldn't have been enough.
No, this is about the dumbness of overtime itself. And it is dumb. I'm not sure the college rules are the answer, but the NFL rules are basically "whoever wins the coin flip wins, lol" and THAT is certainly dumb.

Apparently. Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White are doing NADA for my team. :(

What happen?
LMAOOOO THE BUNGALS. HAHAHAHAHAThat Denver guy tiptoeing around the end zone to burn off time made it awesome. :lol
Tipped pass with 20 seconds left for an 87 yard TD for Denver to win it.
What happen?
Bengals scored with under a minute left to take a 7-6 lead. Denver went to Marshall, ball was tipped, Stokley caught it and took it 87 yards for the game winning TD. 2pt conversion failed, final 12-7.
They just showed the highlight on CBS. It will be on all the sports shows all night and all day tomorrow.I can't believe it. I was sitting at my computer, checking my e-mail when my dad told me to come into the living room to watch the first replay. I noticed that Denver took the lead, so I asked what happened. My dad said that the play was too weird for words, so I watched it. And I told him that it was weird, but the Bengals keep finding new ways to lose games. :lol
Good news for the Falcons is that our defense looks fucking beastly. Matt Ryan looked shaky early but settled down, and Turner couldn't really do shit until the last drive but our offense was sufficient, I guess. WTF is up with Elam missing two pretty makable field goals and an extra point, tho?:'(
Dude, have you ever watched the Redskins before?
Giants, baby :punch
I'm with you on this one. When I was in DC last April, I listened to this teenage kid on the metro whine about our fans at Qwest Field and how it's all artificial noise that the Seahawks pump in to win games illegally, such as the playoff game against us. No mercy on the Redskins.

But that's true. Even other teams, like the Giants, have said that.
Is it Fox or my local affiliate?
Recently, everytime I watch sports on Fox, it's like a daggum slideshow. Dropped frames, slow FPS, whatever it is... it's not smooth. I want to blame my local affiliate, but it's not like that with all camera angles, so it makes it seem like it's Fox. With baseball games, for example, it's horrible on the pitch when the camera angle is from behind the pitcher and facing the batter. Other angles are usually OK. And now today in the Panthers-Eagles game, same thing. The action is janky.
Anyway, :lol at the Panthers being down 31-10 at home.
I blame Troy Aikman, personally.

but cajole has Tomlinson and Owens on monday (oh and Trent Edwards). I have Moss and some defensive players :-\
I googled the issue, seems to be common across the country. AVSforum, I think, has a long thread about it going back to July and baseball but updated with today's NFL games. Some are blaming Fox, some say it's an issue with the way Fox transmits the feed to cable providers and an incompatibility with a cable box (specifically, Scientific Atlanta), while others say they're getting it over the air so it can't be a cable issue.
Anyway, it sucks.

Shaky hand held footage so yeah, AND it's against the Browns but DAMN is AP a beast.
To this day it still boggles my mind that six guys went ahead of Peterson in the draft. Oakland, Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa, Arizona and the Redskins ought to all be kicking themselves watching shit like that.No way, Russell was a stellar pick
ESPECIALLY Oakland.
Oh god, Peterson would probably be in a wheelchair doing color commentary for the NFL Network if the Lions drafted him.
Also, who has Cutler tonight? Can't wait to see him throw his teammates under the bus during the press conference
Cutler is still playing better than Matt Schaub did this afternoon. :-\He's still worse than Hitler. Did Hitler ever throw three interceptions in half?
I bet the Redskins are glad they didn't pull the trigger on Cutler right about now.
Cutler played a decent game in the second half. The major fuck up was the fake kick that the LONGSNAPPER fucking independently decided. What a jerk-off.
You bitches didn't think Lord Brady was coming back to LOSE, did you? SRSLY?ew. you're one of THEM?! ::)

Eli >>>>> Brady
He looked pretty good during the 4th quarter of last week's game. Remember, Carson Palmer wasn't the same guy the season after he came back from the same injury... although in Palmer's defense he got hurt in the post-season and Brady got hurt in the first game of the regular season.
I think some of it is that he's not fully back yet, and some of it tonight has to do with the fact that the Jets defense is really, really good. Look what they did to Houston last week, and what Houston did to a pretty good Tennessee defense this week. Brady also didn't have Welker to throw to today, and Welker is like his honky security blanket.

Boomer Esiason of CBS recently lifted the lid on the problems with Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell. Esiason said on Sunday's The NFL Today that Russell has been "fined heavily" for showing up late for multiple meetings, being overweight, and missing one meeting.
A league source tells us that it's even worse.
Per the source, Russell has missed multiple meetings, and that he has missed multiple other activities. His behavior has been described to us as a "pattern not an aberration."
Drew Brees plays for the New Orleans Saints, and he threw six touchdowns against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. It wasn’t long ago when New Orleans was ravaged by a hurricane, and just recently people in Detroit lost their jobs when the job market crashed. None of this has anything to do with Drew Brees. I just think it’s interesting.
...
There were two games on Monday night this week, but why? Why not just have all the games on Monday night, and let people decide which games to watch. They could listen to the game on the phone if they wanted to. I remember when phones still had cords on them. You could swing the phone around on the cord all the time. It was a perfect device for getting the lady of the house back in line. But I couldn’t do that if I have to watch two football games on Monday night. There’s so little time for beating your wife during the week as it is. None of this has anything to do with football. I just think it’s interesting.
I'm pretty shocked that the Falcons are handling the 49ers this easily.
I'm pretty shocked that the Falcons are handling the 49ers this easily.
Are you worrying yet?
*cue three Brady TDs in the 4th quarter*
Boy, having Hasselbeck back really makes a difference!
I don't think Shanahan rebuffed because he's Daniel Snyder, but probably because he wants full control of the team and Snyder won't do that.
Snyder needs to worry about replacing Ceratto before finding a coach.
That's distinguished mentally-challenged. He has let a coach run the entire organize - twice - and it has not worked out either time.
The organization needs a bonafide GM and Vinny Cerrato is not the answer.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—In an improbable display of competence and a basic execution of football fundamentals, the Oakland Raiders stunned the football world Sunday when running back Michael Bush miraculously rushed for three yards against the Giants and succeeded in converting a first down.
The Raiders, who fearlessly faced a third-and-one situation on their own 22-yard-line, somehow gained the 36 inches needed for an elusive first down, despite numerous obstacles that included a professional NFL defense, owner Al Davis' incompetent personnel decisions, mediocre play-calling, and general ineptitude.

JaMarcus got his shit together and played halfway decent, and the D blitzed the shit out of Donovan McNabb. It makes you wonder if the philly game was fixed. I know of no sane betting person that would have picked the raiders. House wins big.
Redskins self destructed. I'm not sure if Zorn will survive until morning.
I still bleed burgundy and gold, but this probably the low point of this franchise. This is worse than Martyball, Fun 'n Gun and Grandpa Gibbs. I really hope Snyder is doing a lot of soul searching - I know he takes losses to heart.
Maybe it will be enough for him to realize that Cerrato has to go.

Am I reading that right? 5 INT?
For one thing, your personnel is better than it was under Spurrier. They're not being coached and motivated properly tho. So you've got that going for you.
Your problem is that while Snyder hates losing, he will never learn anything from it because he's a jackass. He's not gonna hire someone to run the team that knows how to, because anyone that does won't want to deal with such a jackass of an owner. I swear I feel like a broken record telling you these things.
Me neither. I don't get how Triumph and I have outscored you, but you're going to be undefeated.

My projected points keep pummeling my actual points. I know better than to trust the projections, but it still keeps getting my hopes up.
According to AOL NFL Fanhouse, Redskins owner Dan Snyder recently tried hiring former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan to replace Jim Zorn in-season, but Shanahan declined.http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=95&line=155843&spln=1
Old news.
Shanahan declined, because his stipulation was that Snyder fire Cerrato and Shanahan retain full control of football operations. That would've been a dumb move.
... also, why would Shanahan want to join the staff in the middle of the season? :lol
I disagree. Head coaches in charge of football operations have a poor track record. You're trading one problem for another one. The GM + Head Coach system works and works for a reason.
No one else is watching this? Eddie Royal is a BEAST

... At any rate, this is pretty bad. Snyder is on the verge of losing his fanbase, and I'm not even confident that getting a bonafide GM will change a lot of people's minds. Some fans are calling FedEx Field - itself - cursed, and the reason for the team's woes.

Even British Able To See Holes In Buccaneers' Defense
October 29, 2009 | Issue 45•44 | Onion Sports
LONDON—Despite their lack of experience watching American football and their unfamiliarity with all but the most basic principles of the sport, the local crowd attending the NFL game at London's Wembley Stadium Sunday had little trouble identifying key weaknesses in the Buccaneer defense as the Patriots cruised to a 35-7 victory. "My word, that safety-man has lost contain yet again, and the Bucs are just getting—what's the word?—blocked right off their feet on nearly every play," attendee Martin Hollings said as Patriots running back Laurence Maroney broke free for a 14-yard run. "Oh, I say, poor show…. These chaps are in fact allowed to use their hands, are they not? Because you certainly could not tell by watching them." In a related incident, BBC commentators claimed they meant no offense and were attempting to compliment wide receiver Wes Welker by saying the Tampa Bay secondary "made [Welker] look like Pelé out there."
Two women, including his former wife and a recent girlfriend, say that Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable has a history of violent behavior toward women.
In separate interviews with ESPN's "Outside the Lines", Sandy Cable and Marie Lutz say that Cable hit them during relationships dating back more than 20 years.

Back then the Falcons weren't really good; for fucks sakes, we STILL haven't had back to back winning seasons in Atlanta yet, although most likely that's going to end this year. By comparison the Pats were and still are a model franchise, and I like winning.
From JasonA's Facebook (a fellow acquaintance and Redskins fan):

I've always liked the Pats too. All the the Anti-Brady Force always struck me as playa-haters.
I wanted them to complete the perfect season. :'(
Eli Manning :'(

I was so happy when the Giants spoiled their perfect season. I've never been huge on the pats, and I went to high school with Kevin Faulk.
I don't really hate dark lord Tom Brady though. they are a really good club. I tend to dislike pats fans. growing up with the saints, every Louisiana football fan had a backup team or two to root for. most gravitated towards teams with players from the area; the pats (Faulk), the panthers (Jake Delhomme), or rarely the Colts (Brandon Stokley - now bobblin it up for Denver lol). most are familiar with the fact that southern football fans can be horrible, and louisiana ranks up there with the best (worst?) of them. just look at LSU. most of these assholes started loving the pats (only after they started dominating though, haha). they are obnoxious and fickle, and the area has tons.
I don't think it's a totally local phenomenon though. today's pats fans are like the cowboys fans of the 80's/90's.
I am losing to Blackmage. :lol
Schaub and Orton tanked today. I can't believe I listened to the "experts" and benched Flacco.
My team is so bad today. :lol
Edit: Willco, I was actually thinking about trying to get Orton from you until yesterday
He's injury prone, expensive and they have Kevin Boss.Definitely prone to injury, but I'm still not sold on Boss. Then again, I haven't seen many Giants games since their 07-08 playoffs run.
I remember planning on taking Farve with one of my last draft picks for lols. Didn't work out :-\
Man, Malek got handed an easy win today.
I can't believe the Lions are winning. Hassleback should be torching us :lol
Holy hell, DeAngelo Hall is throwing a fit in the Redskins locker room, threatening Falcons coach Mike Smith. :lol

Dude, it's the 49ers. They're going to lose anyway, come play Modern Warfare 2.
Who is worse than Hitler - Romo or Cutler?
He really is worse than Hitler. :lol
"They know Favre by name," said First Lieutenant Tim Boehnen, who is from New Richmond, Wis.
"One of the big words they know now is shenanigan. They'll constantly talk about 'Favre shenanigans,' 'He's so good for the Vikings,' and 'The Packers have got to really feel bad about that one.' "

Bill Simmons writes a big column whining about Belichick going for it. I don't think I've ever read a worse misuse of statistics.
His second argument is basically this: "Because the Colts had already scored on long drives twice in that quarter, it was much less likely that they would do it again, because nobody does that kind of thing three times." I kid you not.
I am not disputing the numbers or the methods for achieving them. But by Monday night, based on various columns and message boards (as well as e-mails to my reader mailbox), you would have thought Belichick was a genius for blowing the game. He played the percentages! It wasn't as crazy as it looked! By this logic, Belichick also should have held a loaded pistol to his head on the sideline, spun the chamber and tried to shoot himself like Chris Walken in "The Deer Hunter." If those 1-in-6 odds came through and he succeeded, we could have said, "Hey, he played the percentages: 83.6666 percent of the time, you don't die in that situation! You can't blame him for what happened!"
Packers fans can't even get away from Favre talk in Iraq, it seems. Iraqi detainees are taunting Wisconsin guardsmen about Favre. Poor Malek. Has the fourth highest-scoring team in the league, but a 3-8 record.
It's too bad i missed the draft for EB football. I would have kicked ass and taken names =)
I'm 1st and 3rd in my two leagues.
Poor Malek. Has the fourth highest-scoring team in the league, but a 3-8 record.
I've scored 53 fewer points than PD, who is leading!

Dennis Dixon, who has attempted one pass in his two seasons, will start.:rofl
which I'm going to! GO SAINTS! city will explode with a win. :rock
probably not watching too much TV today, putting up lights/etc. will maybe have it on in the background all day though, and check up on the fantasy periodically to see how PD is doing.
We're gonna win a game! Oh my God!!:rock
Upon announcing the change, Fisher further stated: ""I'm still in Kerry Collins' corner because I don't believe that our record is a reflection of the quarterback play," Fisher said. "It's a reflection of the team play. I'm still in his corner, but we've decided to go ahead and make this change."[48]
After their abysmal start, the Titans have won all five of the games with Young as quarterback.
Aikman was unbearable today. "I don't mean to dick ride Favre but wow, that was an amazing play!"
I'm up by 38 and have Moss tonight. Akala has Brees, Colston, and Pierre Thomas. If NE can stifle the NO offense I'll win, but I can't say I'm confident right now.
I'd be dead if Matt Ryan didn't get hurt yesterday :lol
It's too bad Malek is out of contention or he could demolish us in the postseason the way he is playing. The 00s brought us Cutler
Patriots and imploding, what the fuck

I left the bar early. Are the pats still getting owned?Yes. Kinda. Still up 14 and having 5-play drives
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I'm going to be in 2nd while having less total points than Malek.
:rofl
Dunno whether to start his inconsistent ass or risk starting Warner, who's coming off a concussion.
God I hate Jay Cutler.
Imagine if he was fucking you out of money. MONEY. I love money.
I'd trade Brady for Peyton in a flash.
IDK if I'd trade for the other. then again, I'm starting Vince Young this week, so not sure how much you want to listen to me. :lol
I read that. Commish, I move to dock Maurice ten points.
Juice now has the edge today. DeAngelo Williams is out, so my deadly combo is down to just Chris Johnson.
Good God, if I would ever meet harSon in real life I would have a hard fucking time not cockslapping him.

GODDAMMIT MALEK
WHY MUST YOU KEEP LETTING MAURICE WIN
Having this cock knocker finish in first is an affront to football. Fortunately, after I whip his ass again next week he'll be back in a subservient position, as God intended.
Roflesburger let me down smh. And Mendenhall smh
Triumph is gonna win
They didn't have Ward but still...it's the fucking Browns. At least they fall further away from the top pick in the draft :o

Akala, you got a boost. Mike Sims-Walker is down with a calf injury.
Our game is probably the most epic regular season game in our league.
Good thing I'm not a betting man. I'd have lost my shirt last night. wtf steelers?
The GAF thread is hilarious. Steeler fans are calling back to the ol' days where Steel workers had to flee Pittsburgh and look for work elsewhere. And thus began the spread of douchiness. A distinguished history, surely!

Well, the presence of Steeler fans in bars all around the country is no big surprise. It's mostly Gen X'ers and Millenniums who realize that Pittsburgh is Shitsburgh and the midwest is the anus of America, despite how much they like the team. They go other places instead.
And as for bionic, you do realize he's mostly one huge parody of sports-GAF, right? The guy doesn't seriously believe all the shit he spews. He's hysterical.
someone fucking ban me for not starting Jaamal Charles. Got him off waivers only to not start him against the worst rush defense in the NFL...and then contemplated not starting Adrian Peterson so I could start Mendenhall
SMH
Well, I tried. Good game, Akala. Go kick some ass for me in the tourney.
The second and fourth highest scoring teams in the league won't be going to the playoffs this year!

Heavy snow forced the 49ers-Eagles game to be moved to 4:15 p.m. ET SundayLooks like a heavy dose of Frank Gore tomorrow.
:piss Tony Homo and the Cowgirls ruining the chances of a perfect Super Bowl :piss2The Saints have started slow for the past few weeks. There is plenty of game left.
Saints are getting buried fast. I wonder if the refs will dig them out like they did in Washington
I think this is it for New Orleans... oh wait, they're playing the Cowboys (second half self destruct imminent) :teehee

Going to the Jets-Falc game today. Playoff chances are slim, but still keeping the faith.
A Steelers loss would make this a great dayLooks like the refs don't feel the same way :(

3 points is annihilation? lulz. Go ahead and pick out the name and tag. The only solace I'll take is that you're gonna get stomped next week. And if you don't, there will be no league next year. Yes, I'm that petty.

Yes. And Zorn defended that playcall afterwards, saying it didn't work just because of "good defense".
Wow Miami is getting destroyed
Yeah, it was pretty incredible. I don't think I've seen anything like in recent memory. I mean, he even had it in his hands.
Whatever, I still have Miles Austin.
I can officially say that this is the lowest point of the Snyder era. Worse than Spurrier right now.
I'm going to need a huge game from AP. But I'm going to be Favre will come out gunning and fuck everything up for everybody - me, Minn playoff position, his MVP chances, etc
Favre needs to come out slinging and slanging in the second half. At least 2 INTs.
Watch the score change tomorrow and give PD the win.
God, I would end myself.
But really, how the fuck did you make a fumble = 1 point? I even just did the math to double-check. I'm making the EB league next year, dude. You're giving me undue stress!
Please note the NFL changed its ruling of Kurt Warner's week 15 touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin to a lateral, making it a rushing play. Stats related to this play have been updated to reflect this change.:lol :-\

I think they'll take Clausen. I don't like him but he's got experience with an pro style offense and has a great arm.
But if the Rams do take Suh...fuck, I don't want to take Eric Berry with the second pick. I'd go offense line.

Suh is the consensus number 1 pick. This is fact. Clausen isn't even the top rated qb- Bradford is and he's currently projected to go around number 5. Once again, you don't know what you're talking about... but your team really should take a beefy and skilled O-lineman to protect Stafford.
Agreed. We'll see what happens. I'd take an avatar bet, but considering you chickened out of the last one, I'll let you off the hook.
Do I have a week to make up my mind?
As for Suh, I bet St. Louis drafts him
and then immediately trades him.:uguu
I'm one-percent serious as a heart attack: Am I just high and the Bengals are beating the shit outta the Jets, or are the Jets winning by 27-0 at the half?

Shanahan lands at Dulles
Updated at 3:48 p.m.
The unveiling of Mike Shanahan as the Redskins' new head coach could be imminent. On the same day that Jim Zorn was relieved of his head coaching duties, Shanahan arrived in Washington, where he's expected to conclude negotiations with the Redskins to fill their coaching vacancy.
Owner Daniel Snyder's plane departed Washington earlier this morning, just a couple of hours after General Manager Bruce Allen fired Zorn, and returned to Dulles International around 3 o'clock this afternoon with Shanahan -- long coveted by Snyder -- in tow.
Snyder's jet was spotted on the runway by Post reporter Zach Berman before quickly disappearing into a private hangar. NBC4's Dan Hellie found Shanahan at the airport, but the former Denver coach declined to comment. Hellie said he asked Shanahan if he'd like to talk. "No, not right now," Shanahan responded to Hellie.
Shanahan went from plane to car in short order and was whisked away to an unknown destination.

I've been listening to KJR-AM (Seattle sports radio) all day, and about 85% of the callers want Mora's head on a pike.
So the team courting for the new LA stadium is down to the Bills and Vikings.
Seattle is apparently already in talks with Pete Carrol.
Jim Zorn is available. :smug
At least you don't have to deal with the Shanahan era. Just when Mike starts winning, he'll step down and his son will become coach. A decade of nepotism. :-\
Matt Millen is available :smug
The fact that almost everyone is picking the Cowboys to win tonight makes me nervous; Peter King actually picked them to win the Superbowl! I can just see 13 years of playoff futility coming back around to bite them in the ass one more time.

These are Peyton Manning's career statistics in the postseason...
348 of 565 (61.5 percent) for 4,207 yards. 22 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions.
His quarterback rating: 84.8
Wait a second, if Manning has been so horrible during the postseason, his numbers have to be worse than that?
Actually no.
With the exception of a few really bad postseason games, Manning has otherwise remained quite effective during January.
To put his postseason quarterback rating in perspective, it's higher than the career quarterback rating of Roger Staubach, Jim Kelly, Len Dawson, Sonny Jurgensen, Troy Aikman, Warren Moon, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, and John Elway. All of them are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Don't be dumb.
My answer? The quarterback doesn't matter, just find a good team. Remember when Trent Dilfer won a ring? Brad Johnson? Joe Theismann for Christ's sake?
You can win a ring with a mediocre QB.
But Willco you didn't answer my question: which QB do you take dammit
But Willco you didn't answer my question: which QB do you take dammit
Kyle Orton. Learn to read. :lenowned
The stats are the definition of underachievement for a QB in Manning's situation; bringing up Elway and others, who were in different situations, is irrelevant.

Kyle Orton is in the playoffs?
How is a better postseason passer rating than Staubach, Kelly, Dawson, Jurgensen, Aikman, Moon, Starr, Tarkenton, Fouts and motherflippin' Elway not good?
Just man up and say you were wrong. And if you are referring to Philip Rivers when you say "Phillips", then his postseason stats are worse:
He's thrown for 1522 yards, 7 TDs, 7 INTs for a 80.0 passer rating.

I don't really give a shit about outcomes anymore, I just want to see a good game. Outside of that Arizona-Green Bay game, this year's playoffs have sucked.

My facebook news feed is going crazy with Bolts fans whose dreams just got shattered.
I turned off my cellphone. The producer of the project I'm attached to, and good friend of mine, is a massive Jets fan. I was actually telling him not to hang himself after the Chargers whoop DAT ASS during halftime. I won't pick up the phone until Tuesday.
You'd probably lose weight faster if you weren't always eating so much crow.

I remember telling myself when I finished it that I wanted to go through it again. Yeah, that didn't happen. It's weird -- it's actually a fairly terrible game, but I enjoyed it immensely just because of the sci-fi shit. I'm such a nerd. :(I haven't got a chance to finish the first one yet. :(Goddamn, does Mass Effect 2 look like this on the 360? That's fucking sexy.

That was seriously unbelievable. I haven't watched any of the trailers because I don't wanna be spoiled but I sat through that and am completely blown away. What an epic masterpiece ME2 is gonna be...game of the gen.
Will the last play of Favre's career be a stupid, pointless interception? :lolHe'll need to come back to redeem himself--only to end the season the same exact way.

YES
YES
YES
THERE IS A GOD AND I DON'T EVEN BELIEVE IN HIM
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOU BRITFARR
i feel bad for favre...he left everything on the field. He seems absolutely devastated (subtle and quiet devastation)i wish the vikings or saints were in the afc so it could be them in the superbowl
colts already won a couple years ago...let the vikes or saints win it
Fuck off, chow chow. Britfarr thinks he's bigger than the game or whatever team he's on. He's a fucking drama queen bitch that doesn't want to put in the work in training camp- he doesn't deserve to be on an NFL team if that's the case, and it clearly is. Would your boss let you miss the first 1/5 of your work day? Don't think so.

"They're yelling DOUCHE because they want you to present the trophy!"
ORLY?
NFL OT is so distinguished mentally-challenged.
He had a monster season playing with one of the best offenses in the game. You could have plugged Marc Bulger in there and had the same result. Favre has been mediocre for awhile, what a surprise his stats went up when he played with a talented team! Gasp!
Brett Favre is a joke now. :lol

Every time someone's team loses in OT they say this :lol
that's why tavaris jackson was so good last season, right?? or what about gus ferrote? heard he threw for like 45 tds in 2007

Yeah, because when I said any competent NFL started could be plugged in, I obviously meant an unproven youngster that has never added up to NFL starter material and a guy who got a concussion by running into a wall during a touchdown celebration when he played for the Redskins like fifteen years ago.
Are you always this dense?
Just imagine, if the Vikings had a real, competent starter, they could have won today.
Brett Favre :rofl
Thanks, GAF.
just listen to any interviews with him, he's just a normal country guy that loves playing football.
He's just out there having fun, slingin' and slangin'. He's like a school kid out there, tossing the pigskin with his friends.
Wow, he looks like he got the shit beat out of him on NFLN right now.He kinda did. :lol
Favre was damn good this year; his numbers speak for themselves. They wouldn't be a play from the superbowl with Jackson at QB. That being said...lolol favre
He's just out there having fun.I'd agree the hard-on that Madden, Peter King of SI, and ESPN as whole have on him is vomit inducing, but I rarely pay attention to those outlets.

I don't understand this point. They wouldn't be in the NFC Championship if an unproven quarterback that has not shown the mettle to be a legitimate NFL starter was playing under center?
Uh, duh.
But imagine if they had an actual starter that wasn't a 68-year-old moron. The Vikings got Favre to the NFC Championship, and he repaid them with a dumb interception. Classic Favre. :lol
Here's the evidence that Favre really sucks: he couldn't manage to get into the post season with the Jets, but Mark Sanchez did.
Glen Shinobi conveniently forgets that Favre was pretty bad his last few years in Green Bay. I think except near the second half of his last year with the Packers, he was actually downright awful.
But glossing over important details and selective memory is a common trait of Glen Shinobi. I can't blame him though, he's just out there having fun. Slingin' and a slangin'.
2005 was the only awful year, the year when he had 29 interceptions. He wasn't great in 2006 or 2008, but he wasn't awful either. Although he was below average in 2006 as well.
God's QB retires :'(

The Redskins cut half their team and look hesitant to sign any big name free agents. What the fuck is going on.
I wish the Cowboys would cut Roy Williams and bring in a real wide receiver.
The most surprising is the Redskins' roster shakeup. They dumped a ton of veterans, and have opted not to sign anybody. I don't even know who is playing what position next year!

I don't really blame them, they didn't really cut any of the good defensive players as far as I can tell. I think that Shanahan and Allen kinda convinced Danny Boy that they're gonna suck no matter what next year.
Tebow would have been lucky to be a backup on any other college team. He always had studs around him on offense and a perennial top 5 defense.
I don't know if he'll translate well to the NBA, but to be fair a lot of that is due to the way he's been groomed, mechanics wise.
my bad :lol
We'll see. I think he'll fail if he's thrown into the fire too soon. If he's developed I think he'll do well
Quinn ain't that bad yo
ESPN insider has an article about the Skins taking Tebow, but I'm not a subscriber. Our local sports station has mentioned their sources confirming the Skins are definitely thinking about this.
shhheeeeiit. I just can't imagine them pulling the trigger. There has to be a safer, low pick QB to take.
or maybe the mere idea of Mr. Tebow going to Washington makes me want to hurl.
With the speculation that the Rams might be taking Sam Bradford No. 1 overall in April, the other team that thinks quite highly of him risks missing out. We've been hearing for a while now that the Redskins value Bradford as a potential franchise quarterback, and that he would not get past their spot in the first round if he lasted that far.
So what happens if the Skins are faced with a draft board with Bradford's name crossed off? It could come down to Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen versus Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung. Below, ESPN NFC East blogger Matt Mosley weighs the options.
UPDATE: The Redskins may be developing their backup plan if Bradford is off the board (as expected) by the time they pick at No. 4. Coach Mike Shanahan and GM Bruce Allen are part of a team that is scheduled to visit with Tim Tebow in Gainesville, presumably to decide whether they want to pick him in April's draft (possibly in the second round) in the event they draft neither Bradford nor Clausen. If they were to take Tebow, he'd become the second former Gators quarterback on the roster behind Rex Grossman (and we thought the Steve Spurrier era was over in Washington).
"I like everything about [Tebow]," Shanahan said. "If you can't root for a guy like Tebow, man, you don't like your [own] kids."
Shanahan visited the Gainesville, Fla., campus on Saturday, along with Washington general manager Bruce Allen and Scott Campbell, the team's director of player personnel. Speaking with reporters for the first time since seeing Tebow workout, Shanahan had a fairly glowing review this morning.
"Here's a guy to me that brings everything to the table. He'll interview with 30 people, work out for everybody [and] when you're with him, he's just an off-the-chart guy," Shanahan said. "Those guys don't come around all the time. Especially with the success that he's had."
"I just think he's something that's very special," he added.
"I think what everybody was looking at from the Senior Bowl was where he dropped the ball below his waist," Shanahan said. "I think he's doing a great job keeping the ball up high, and I think everybody saw that at his workout."
"When Phillip Rivers came out, everybody said he didn't have the perfect throwing motion, the perfect release. At least in my opinion, [Rivers'] is one of the best in the business; he's in the top three or four," he said. "Sometimes you've got to be able to play the game. You can dissect everybody's game, but the bottom line is how he plays and how he gets it done."
"You just never know," he added.
Looks like the Lions are "definitely interested" in Pacman Jones. (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AhK_3kXcqn_99_.rq3Gs2aE5nYcB?slug=ap-lions-pacman)
:smug
As we've mentioned once or twice, quarterback Tim Tebow's habit of openly expressing his religious beliefs could potentially rub folks the wrong way, especially in a locker room of grown men who choose to keep their beliefs to themselves, who don't share his beliefs at all, and/or who only want to hear "God bless" after they have sneezed.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/23/tebows-pre-wonderlic-prayer-request-falls-flat/
We're told that Tebow already has gotten a taste of the resistance he might face at the next level.
At the Scouting Combine, the Wonderlic exam is administered to players in groups. The 12-minute test is preceded by some brief instructions and comments from the person administering the test.
Per a league source, after the person administering the test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.
Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.
We're not passing judgment on this one; we're just passing along what we've heard. And it illustrates the type of challenges that could be faced by the team that drafts Tebow.
That said, some teams might embrace those challenges. The final decision will depend largely on the composition of the team, and the personalities of the coach, the G.M., and the owner.
I hope he gets drafted by the 49ers. Singletary would eat him alive.
I can't believe they are shopping McNabb. Eagles will be 4-10 next season without him.
Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports via Twitter that Oakland Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell arrived at the team's offseason workout program weighing 290 pounds, according to two people.
:rofl :rofl :rofl
"You'll be surprised when you see him," Raiders director of squad development Willie Brown said while referring to the fourth-year quarterback on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's Chronicle Live. "It's quite a bit of weight that he's lost. ... I don't want to pin it down and say how much he lost, but it will be a significant difference when you see him compared to last year."
:drudgeFUCK my life
Iggles trade McNabb to THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS per Adam Schefter. Bill Federwang said to be comatose after orgasming repeatedly. More as it develops.
lolz, apparently McNabb basically strong armed the Iggles into trading him to only Washington. (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AgzHSvXj.LjpQCQxUVsLUUU5nYcB?slug=jc-mcnabbtrade040410)I don't blame him if he didn't want to go to Oakland. :rofl
He refused to talk to Buffalo about a contract extension and apparently threatened to retire if traded to Oakland. :lol

The interesting thing to me at least, is does this mean that Shanny has given up on QB prospects in this year's draft since he couldn't get Bradford? Is he going to ride McNabb for the next couple of seasons, and try and draft someone next year to groom under him?
