This is a pretty awesome move. I speculate that one, if not all of the following players will be traded for draft picks and/or players:
Andre Carter, Jason Campbell, Chris Cooley
... the only one I'd be sad about is Cooley, because Fred Davis is a beast but Cooley can actually block. The fact that the Redskins signed a blocking TE this offseason implies he'll be dealt around the draft.
But - hey! - they draft Okung and grab some quality players late in the draft, make some key pickups (sign Flozell, now!) and whip some underachievers into shape (Portis!)... the 'Skins can actually compete next season. McNabb changes a lot.
Willie Parker is a long shot to make the roster, Triumph. He is really just there to make Portis compete for his spot, which I doubt he loses to Larry Johnson or Willie Parker. Either way, the Redskins will have a veteran presence and Shanahan will draft some unknown and that kid will run for a billion yards - just like in Denver.
The interesting thing to me at least, is does this mean that Shanny has given up on QB prospects in this year's draft since he couldn't get Bradford? Is he going to ride McNabb for the next couple of seasons, and try and draft someone next year to groom under him?
