Oh, hai. My Rock Band bandmate arrived at last, ordered two days before they pulled the feature. It's pretty good, but a little more dull in the coloring than I'd expected. Anyone else here buy one?

The MIDI interfacer is also sick, because I've been wanting a keyboard for a while...this is all too much.

When I look through the list of confirmed stuff on the official site:

Srsly, I don't know many of them, and the ones I know I wasn't thrilled about. This semi-confirmed list gives me more hope though. And RB1 and RB2 introduced me to a lot of bands.

Doesn't it come with free DLC? Similar to Alan Wake. I am going to guess it's 1000 base with + 250 DLC from songs. Are they specific RB3 DLC songs? I am curious if you can get "play 30 downloaded songs" or whatever using old DLC.

The only free DLC is if you preorder at Gamestop, and the song specific achievements on that list don't cover any of those songs. The NIN and Boston songs are as old as dirt.

Well, I still say its 1000 base + 250 from DLC. I'm certain this can fly because it is still DLC. Play on a vanilla RB3 with no songs and see if you can get the bonus achievements.

I was reading up on Red Hot Chili Peppers wiki entry, saw there's a big rumor there will be a Guitar Hero edition for them. I'd be all over that. If I ever want to lose both my hands, I'd try for Flea's part on Expert. :'(

Are the RB3 songs for pre-order limited exclusive to that offer? Or can they be bought separately? I would rather order through Amazon, where I've got credit, and they don't suggest a used version of the game during the checkout process.

I remember a lot of people were certain Train Kept a Rollin' wouldn't export from the first game, but it still did, even after GH Aerosmith. Meh, whatever, we'll find out pretty soon, I guess.

the DLC is licensed differently than the disc-based content
