The studio banter HAS been heard before though. That's why you're a shitty Beatles fan.

And you're very misinformed. Everything there has been heard before, just not "officially". This is pretty obvious by going to hardcore beatles sites and people want the Harmonix MIXES not the studio chatter, because it's all been heard before.

green day kinda sucks, but I think their songs would be fun to play in RB. not $60 good, but good. everyone knows most of them, and the separations are pretty meaty.

would buy for $20.

Rubber Soul sucks, and I just noticed today something that will make me never pick this game up again. In "All You Need Is Love" at the end they have Paul singing "She loves you ya ya ya" when it's quite clearly both Paul AND John. Disgusting.

Has anybody else bought Rubber Soul? It's my favourite album but I'm pretty poor atm and most of my friends arent here for the holidays (which other than drums/singing is the only way I can still enjoy the game). Peppers seemed a little half-assed :-\

I think EA Marketing had a big meeting with Harmonix, showed them the sales of the DLC charted against the sales of full-priced new titles, particularly waving their laser pointers at the Guitar Hero series and purchasers of Beatles RB who aren't particularly Beatles' fans. Then they shrugged and pretended to let HMX come to their own conclusions... VIOLA! Green Day Rock Band.

As for The Beatles and the legitimacy --the honesty-- of their portrayal in the game, Methodis, you do realize that they also didn't drink tea on the back of a giant rhinoceros, right?

Was it my imagination, or did someone mention upcoming free DLC for Rock Band in another thread? I can't find anything about it on the wikipeja.

I bought Wait since I didn't really need the other songs or have the points to buy them.  I didn't buy Sgt Pepper in full either (just the two free songs I got, Mr Kite and Day in the Life).

I actually just played the last two mentioned even thought I downloaded them next month.  They need a piano add on for this game.

There not as half assed as Sgt Peppers, but don't expect anything new except all 4 boys wearing sunglasses in Michelle. Norwegian wood is just a retextured within you, In My Life is just gently weeps mixed with hey bulldog. THe best thing to do is check on youtube. A handful of songs are in the budokan arena though also so watch out for those (Run for your life is one, lame).

It is extremely lazy what they did with the DLC especially Sgt Peppers, that's a disaster. Mr Kite is the worst.

I'll be getting Rubber Soul tonight, it and Revolver are my favourites. I desperately want I'm Only Sleeping.

I didn't really want all of Sgt Pepper, but Lovely Rita is more fun than I expected. I'll keep buying them to make sure I get From Me To You.

Re: the EA marketing with Harmonix, there's no doubt they're probably leaving money on the table by not having full priced retail discs instead of regular DLC. But how many DLC purchasers would end up shelling out for a new disc? I doubt it would be enough to recoup the costs.

That said I sure as shit wouldn't be making any more retail music games, that ship has basically sailed.

Sorry, I only bought Run for Your Life and only played it once, so I was going off of memory. Plus they would've played Rubber Soul songs in Budokan not shea stadium anyways, so it's not my fault the incompetants at HMX fucked that up.

How am I owned? Nothing in the Shea Stadium set is form Rubber Soul except nowhere man which was in the books for ages, my point was, that the shea stadium was done and long over with before Rubber Soul came out, so time line wise, they should've been in Budokan, so I just assumed thats where they were. Again, not my fault Harmonix can't keep their Beatles timeline straight.

Oh last post, and when I said Shea Stadium up there I meant the Shea Stadium event IN THE GAME, so the one in 1965 which predates Rubber Soul. Wow malek, good job trying to own me but owning yourself in the way. Wikipedia shows this setlist as:

   1. "Twist and Shout" (excerpt) (John Lennon)
   2. "She's a Woman" (Paul McCartney)
   3. "I Feel Fine" (John Lennon)
   4. "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" (John Lennon)
   5. "Ticket to Ride" (John Lennon and Paul McCartney)
   6. "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby" (George Harrison)
   7. "Can't Buy Me Love" (Paul McCartney)
   8. "Baby's in Black" (John Lennon and Paul McCartney)
   9. "Act Naturally" (Ringo Starr)
  10. "A Hard Day's Night" (John Lennon and Paul McCartney)
  11. "Help!" (John Lennon)
  12. "I'm Down" (Paul McCartney)

So tell me, which one would Rubber Soul be performed at? That concert with no Rubber Soul songs at Shea Stadium in '55 thats in the game? Or the 1966 at Budokan which is in the game that Malek posted with a Rubber Soul song on it?

Malek must be a designer at Harmonix because his beatles knowledge is shit. Good thing I convinced Harmonix to put in DOn't Let Me Down and Hey Bulldog.

It's Shea Stadium--65 or 66--who cares? Harmonix wasn't going to create a slightly different, slightly less attended stadium just to make it look more authentic. Maybe they should have given the Beatles different uniforms--but Jesus who cares.

Just because other people are not fanatically, OCD-level familiarized with each detail of The Beatles' history, knowing trivia which even Sir Paul himself would likely not remember, doesn't mean they're not a fan, it just means they're not obsessed.

Queen pack was pretty shoddy too.  Missing a lot of their great songs, having the "real" version of Killer Queen (as opposed to the fun version in GH1) and having you play piano using the guitar but still not including Bohemian Rhapsody or Don't Stop Me Now.

No. This is a unique title as far as I can tell. On Score Hero they were discussing a GH5 Expansion Disc early next year and certain songs that were supposed to be on it. This seems to match up with that. VIP Pass is just the title of the game, not necessarily related to an ACTUAL VIP PASS of unlimited downloads.

I was watching PartnerNet back when I had access and GH DLC was listed under all 3 titles as far back as August. There's no 'central hub' as it were.

Edit:
It's the standalone music store browser for the 360. The Rock Band and Lips counterparts make it obvious.

While it's nice to get thrown some DLC of Psychedelic Furs and Roy Orbison, if there was a way to get more White Zombie and Rob Zombie, I'd pay the full price for a disc-based title and be stoked to get some more Achievement points for it to boot.

I guess the key is that if an artist is famous enough and their body of work is large enough, it can support a full retail product. Which leads me to wondering why there isn't a full Rolling Stones Guitar Hero (too old? they've got other tracks. licensing fee prohibitive? anyway, I'd buy it), or why there isn't a U2 Rock Band. For now I'll just be happy that there isn't a Jay Z or Fiddy Rock Band/Band Hero title where all the vocals are "Talky Parts."

It's also surprising that Activision hasn't gone out on a limb to do a Led Zeppelin Guitar Hero with a talented cover band aping the legendary licks. Isn't the issue there the handling of the master tapes?

Nah the issue is Led Zeppelin not wanting anyone to touch the masters except their engineers. This was why it took so long to get the Beatles into these games (although they were in Karaoke Revolution Volume 3 which most people forget) until someone threw them a lucrative enough money offer.

Terrible idea, I would never reccomend this, especially if you want "endless blatter" because if someone disconnects or something freak happens you have to start all over and you don't get the achievement.

It sporadically gets good and bad. I mean, for a while there they were rocking some awesome DLC so it's about time they release some popcountry or some other bullshit I don't give two fucks about.

PS: Since queen, there's been a White Stripes pack, the Nirvana songs everyone knows from Nevermind, a Them Crooked Vultures song (which I still haven't downloaded, stupid me). Plus, I will probably download Simon and Garfunkel for the fuck of it.

Look at the gap of time between the last two Nirvana and Foo Fighter packs. It's like they're rushing out sure sellers instead of keeping up surprises.

But that's fine as I'm taking a DLC break. Lego Rock Band is fresh enough with the songs and interface. Going back to RB2 just sucks to me with LRB, BH and GH5 now.
