By the way, I hate you all for not telling me Gorillaz DLC pack was coming. Oh-em-effing-gee that is excellent shit.

I actually made a thread just for the Gorillaz DLC.

Oops, my bad. I'll scope it.

Online world tour in Rock Band

They promised that? That's incredible; there is -SO- much wrong with the front end flow for adding/removing players even at a LOCAL level, I can only imagine that the rework is impossible without a complete redesign, a la RB2 flow.

Re-read: WTF? Do we need more Nirvana? I thought the first album was the only good one.

I hope HMX releases Elton John glasses for Avatars when they launch whatever music pack that entails. Or a Bernie Taupin shag wig.

We still don't have Teen Spirit, Lithium or anything off In Utero.  Harmonix has only given us second rate Nirvana.

"nothing spectacular," but I'll be buying half of it. "Don't Stop" and "Rebel Yell," and likely both Petty tracks.

I'm personally hoping for some Credence Clearwater Revival or Megadeth's Rust in Peace in the future.  I will be disappointed by most DLC that doesn't fit that criteria.

In Utero has aged well and is a lot better than Nevermind imo.  Of course I may have just listened to Nevermind too many times growing up but I'd much rather play/listen to In Utero songs.  Hopefully those are in the pipeline.  Would be cool too if Nirvana had another song, I'd love to see a debut in RB.

I was thinking along the lines of 'You know You're Right' or something similar.  But you're right, the likelyhood of Nirvana having any other near-complete recordings that haven't already been harvested for Outcesticide albums is pretty low.

And on that note, I'm going to go find In Utero, which I never bought. Played the HELL out of Nevermind though, so I can't believe I didn't notice that Smells Like Teen Spirit isn't in the first Nirvana Pack for RB. WTF?!

World Tour mode in RB2 is awesome. Much better than the shit in RB1. I already have more achievements in RB2 than RB1 after about 3hrs play.

That said some of the early music is fucking woeful.

Oh, hell, you just started playing RB2? The Tour mode is SO much improved, it's stunning how much they got right this time around. The first game, it succeeded despite the front end oversights for Tour mode, but RB2 makes up for all of it.

Ah, I hear you. I've still got co-workers who are waiting for the Japan release of Rock Band, announced over a year ago and NO NEWS SINCE.

Hit me up on XBL if you want a bandmate, now that you've got a world tour that's not limited to local play.  ;)

A ton of new songs were added to the list of choices in the Pepsi Rock Band contest. Just picked up Rebel Yell, There's No Other Way, Runnin Down the Drain, Tom Sawyer, Undone, My Name is Jonas and I Won't Back Down.

Particle rocks, he's been randomly PMing me codes the last couple weeks.

Even money says it will be a code in the game only when newly purchased, like the "20 Free Tracks" offered with RB2, and every subsequent Track Pack, e.g. AC/DC Live.

The unlock code for RB1 was probably just a one-time thing due to a shortcoming in their own data design.

Anyone else playing Rock Band Unplugged? I'm enjoying it but am surprised at how hard it is to switch tracks without spazzing out.

Yeah. It's probably going to have no code in it, as the counter jockeys will have had their way with those codes before anyone else. Even if they don't, you'll have to be the first one to rent it...

Apple's (computers, not The Beatles' record company) is having a "rock and roll themed event" at the Yerba Buena center on September 9. Part of me is wondering if this isn't the long-rumored reconciliation with Apple Records to announce Beatles coming to the iTunes Music Store, or even a version of The Beatles: Rock Band to show up for iPhone/iPod Touch.

But probably not.

And I would have put money on some HMX title to launch on iPhone/iTunes and have its own event, but there's no way HMX would launch an iPod RB title going head-to-head with their new Beatles title.

So, Apple's 09-09-09 Event - Rock Band related or no?

Some guys at ScoreHero found these song titles hidden in The Beatles data (no clue why it is there ???  Could be a red herring)

The Perry Winkles- Longest Song
Led Zeppelin- Black Dog
Lynyrd Skynyrd- Sweet Home Alabama
Guns N' Roses- Welcome To The Jungle
Steppenwolf- Born To Be Wild
Creedence Clearwater Revival- Proud Mary
The Darkness- I Believe In A Thing Called Love
Guns N' Roses- Live and Let Die
KISS- Rock and Roll All Nite
The Black Crowes- She Talks To Angels
Bachman Turner Overdrive- Taking Care Of Business
Queen- Tie Your Mother Down
Queen- We Will Rock You
AC/DC- You Shook Me All Nite Long
Van Halen- Ain't Talking About Love
Quiet Riot- Bang Your Head
Queens Of The Stone Age- Battery Acid
