Still haven't opened my RB. I may wait until tomorrow evening and see what the ratio of broken to unbroken strum bars is before I take that chance. If it's too high, then I may just take it back or sell it on ebay and rebuy whenever they fix their shitty hardware.

You could probably sell it easily. I saw a fat kid at CC tonight who said he's been to 7-8 places with no luck for the 360 bundle. The PS3 bundle was still available though.

Downloading some DLC now. Song sizes are 25-30mb average, looks like. Will report back.

Also, I like the new strum bar. Does take some getting used to on up/down strums but as I mentioned earlier I don't get as man bullshit misses from rocking out too hard and it 'springing back' to up and registering an extra strum, breaking my combo (happens with every GH controller I've tried, at least 5-6 of them). And it's definately not 'getting worse' over time. This controller feels significantly sturdier in its construction than the PS2 or X-Plorer did.

what DLC are you getting? I got the T. Rex song (Bang a Gong) and it's rad. I'm holding off til next week's Bowie pack for additional songs, I think though.

as far as strumming goes, the timing window is much more severe than the Guitar Hero games and you actually have to "strum" the bar to get it to register, you can't just click it like a toggle.

the guitar is also SO much quiter than the Red Octane guitar. Jesus.

Grabbed "Juke Box Hero" and the Police Pack. I like that every pack song is also available al a carte (although more expensive, that's fine). Quality is good, integration with the game is exactly as expected. Great stuff.

Sweet, it actually ads the DLC to your tour mode so you can make money off of it to buy upgrades

There's no solo bass mode, but you can play bass at any time from quickplay (without a second player, and without having to go to practice mode, that was BS in GHII). I might also add that Bass now can get up to 6x multiplier, which is awesome since they tend to have less notes and longer combos.

I finished up the evening doing a lot of quickplay bass and futzing around with the character customization options to an unhealthy degree. At 40/58 songs, should finish the unlocks tomorrow.
