I don't know the patterns to any of these bosses, I just slash away. I'll have to go back and read up on strategies so I can get S rankings

I love the Buster moves when you use them. Pounding away at Credo - FTW

OMG I love using Devil Buster on bosses. Just seeing Nero beat the fuck out of them and that slo-mo punch on the holiness, so satisfying

But now I am Dante and fingering my soppy cooch

this really picks up after the first few missions, thank god -- the credo fight was fuckin awesome. add me on xbl if you're playing the 360 version -- my gamertag is 'drohne.' my friends leaderboard is pretty barren right now. i want to see if i suck.

basically if you hit the left trigger at the right moment during a move, you'll fill up one slot on your exceed meter, which increases the power of your next hit. the timing varies from move to move...with the regular combo and the air combo it's shortly after you press the attack button, with high time it's just as nero brings the sword behind his back, with splitter it's when you hit the ground, etc. it's really fun once you get the hang of it.

Automatic basically does random revs for you, but it's not as precise and as good as doing it normally. It also charges up your guns (should you ever bother using them) randomly as well.

It will get you by just fine, I use it because I can't be bothered to learn how to be precise. I've hit SSS just fine on several occasions.

Devil Hunter is much easier than the default difficulty in DMC vanilla.  I never played the special edition--which apparently ''fixed'' the difficulty.  I'm in mission 4.  I just picked up my copy yesterday.  I'm loving it so far.

Yeah, the change between Nero -> Dante was hard to get used to, then when I'm fine with Dante, they give me Nero and suddenly I have trouble adjusting to Nero :lol

I beat it. Awesome end. Better than GOW2's QTE. At least it's semi-skill based. I got the extra end.

Gonna do a run in Human mode for the achievements and extra Blue Orb Fragments I missed. Some of those Secret Missions are annoying and hard as fuck.

I know I'm weak.

I was slightly disappointed in the final boss fight,I was sorta expected Vergil-esque fight and it was too easy except towards the end.

Secret Mission 12 is impossible, there is no humanly way someone can do that.

And I'm still having problems with Insta-Rev,also one time Dante changed styles and I didn't press the d-pad.

I've noticed that you lose style points slower, but there isn't any way to build them quickly like 3.

Using the Rev moves increases your style quickly, and if you leave the style deplete it stays on that letter as long as you dont get hit

Got all the Blue Orbs.

You can get a decent amount of points just by getting all the farming achievements.

Sucks that you have to max out -every- item just for an achievement. Buying all items and skills - easy 150. I think my peak will be Hell or Hell mode. No way can I do that. Probably the Bloody Tower with an S as well, or even finishing it.

Currently cranking out S ranks on Human mode. On Level 11 right now.

ALSO, dear god I just discovered a newfound love for Pandora. OMG I was getting S combos so quickly. That devastation laser is GODLIKE. My new favorite weapon as Dante. And when you max out your Disaster Gauge, just leap in the air when there's a bunch of enemies, and WHAMMO. Need to look up how to do that Omen move.

Only elitist turds say don't use Automatic. Whatever, I'm having fun, and I'm getting S ranks. The only things that really matter are time and orbs (ugh) -- problem is I don't know if I'm missing any hidden orb caches. The only bonus I get is "No Item" and that helps me get S even with a S A S ranking (or any variant of the three).

Don't beat it on Human, stick with Devil Hunter, it will get you comfortable with the game more than Human would. IT prepares you for the much-much harder difficulties.

Yeah I'll keep rocking Devil Hunter, Its only as hard as DMC3 at least and I managed to finish that. Toads pattern was kinda easy to figure but those tentacool bitches confused me a little

Automatic doesn't even dial-a-combo anyway, I'm not even sure what that means. All I've noticed is that it revs at random times, and charges your gun for you at random times. Big deal?

Automatic is great in the higher difficulties because a charged shot can get a enemy off your back.It also occasionally damages enemies for with a small explosion(I'm positive of this now)Strangely,I had problems with Sanctus on SoS last night, some of the automated attacks didn't really help and even got me hit a lot.I had to use a fucking vital star. Using Dante with automatic is fucking distinguished mentally-challenged and will most likely you killed than help you,it is nice he goes through Pandora's forms faster though.

I beat over the weekend on devil hunter.  I loved it.  Also Nero>>>Dante.  Exceed system, better DT, and owning bosses with the Devil Bringer is too fun.  DH difficulty is much easier than the normal in DMC3.  Human is a joke.  I started playing human to collect more proud souls, finish the secret missions, and collect all the blue fragments.  DMC4 also inspired me to started re-playing DMC3 again also.  I'm a big action game fan, and while DMC4 doesn't do anything revolutionary, I'm still having a tons of fun with it.
