Either that, or he's just, you know, making a statement based on how he feels about it. Continue the argument if you want, but I wouldn't trust you to add much of value to it. Man it's so fuckin badass. Completed ACT 2. 7 hours.

Man i'm having a fucking blast, reminds me of the fun i had with MGS1, the first boss was balla! 

Only in the loading and installing screens.

Mine is like a hair dryer, specially during cut scenes. I guess it's because it's in a semi closed space and MGS4 is really pushing the system. Seriously, this was going way beyond 360 absurd levels.

I'm gonna move the system. I'm sure that will do it.

Wow. I am finally not alone! My PS3 is louder than my relatively quiet 360 90% of the time. Which seems so odd to me, as people always complain about how loud their 360's are, and praise how quiet their PS3's are. My 360 maintains a constant level of noise, which isnt really intrusive. My PS3 boots up quiet as death, but without fail, after its on for 10 minutes or so, the fans (or whatever makes all the noise) start kicking in and it gets really noisy. Neither my 360 nor PS3 are in even remotely closed spaces, and I position both upright.

I moved it from the space it was in, and just put it on the floor. It calmed down a lot. I think it just needs alot of space for the fans or something.

But yeah, when the fans kick into overdrive is just ridiculous.

Does anyone know how the stress system works?  The game barely explains it.

You'll find out soon enough (in Act 2) but one thing I've noticed, when Snake is holding his back, that means hes having back pains. Relieve this by using a compressor. That'll drop the stress level down :p

I have no idea how far along I am thru act one but im taking it slow and trying to stealth sneak to the max with no kills and no detections.

I LOVE the new maps.

I like the game format - they keep the long briefings in their own menu for when you wanna kick back and keep the in mission codecs more short and sweet.

Sad to think this will be the last game.

I've played MGS4 for 2 more hrs now.  Stealth gameplay is still broken.   

Fuck Mupepe's bean eating ass.  Demi is the Icon that knows what MGS is all about.

stealth gameplay is way better now, it's somewhat splintercell level now. And the mods should really crack down on the console wars cigarillo shit. It's boring and brings nothing new to the discussion.

Stealth is better but there are still too many blind spots and it's more tedious than it should be.  It's far easier to be stealthy in Splinter Cell.

Still, it's a testament to how well done everything else is in MGS4 that I'm still a bigger fan of MGS than SC.

The PMCs will always be your enemy and its in your best inerest to befriend the militias since you'll be behind and in front of enemy lines with them (thus making sneaking even easier). If you kill militia, then they become your enemy too.

NO! 3 makes little sense and has no impact that way.


Start with 1. Read the "Previous Operations" or whatever section, to fill you in on the 2D games' backstory. Then 2, then 3.

Trust me, 3 makes a lot of allusions to the first two games (some of which are admittedly pretty corny, like, "OH BOY I WONDER IF WE'LL EVER BE ABLE TO (explicit description of something from the first two games), THAT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE.").

Midway through act 2 and the difficulty seems to be ramping up quite a lot... just when I got the hang of the control and camera changes from the first 3 MGS games, too. Still, the game is fantastic and looks phenomenal.

I really have to say this game collectively shits on every other narrative, character, and cinematic endeavor brought to a video game.

In the span of 15 min I would experience excitement, feel tears welling up, and be laughing out loud. I mean its ridiculous, no game has ever had me this captivated with every single thing going on. I honestly believe in the relationships established and my god when has a intro and game over screen ever given you fricken chills before.

Another thing the character modeling, the faces and detail is just staggering and I dont think anything touches it right now not even Uncharted.

Metal Gear Solid 4 stands head and shoulders over the entire industry. It transcends the medium in damn near every way: in interactivity, in storytelling, and in cinematic and aural presentation. Kojima and Konami have raised the bar entirely and I doubt anyone else in the field will come close to it any time soon.

Having just finished it, I have never been so blown away or emotionally moved quite like this. Everything that has come before it in this generation pales in comparison.

I just played the demo for Uncharted and uh, I disagree with this guy. The animation and facial expressions are insane in Uncharted. I need to go pick it up real soon. The chills this cunt is getting are probably coming from the fan he has on.

On this topic of classic MG -

While I have finished MG NES and MG MSX, I have only finished Snakes Revenge NES (which i liked) but not the true zanzibar mission in MG2: Solid snake MSX. I really want to play thru that some day - it seems excellent and its from a Konami era that I absolutely love.......

While MG2 seems better than snakes revenge - I in some ways (not the audio ) prefer MG NES to MG MSX...I think parachuting into the jungle and using the truck to infiltrate the outer heaven main gate at the beginning of intrude N313 is much more epic than swimming right up to the back door (ala the shadow moses incident) in MG MSX. MSX MG still wins on top for a few reasons (such as the music )

I just met "Big Mama" (Eva) and WOW at the tieing together of MGS3. I never would have thought that the original team for that 1950s operation would be the originators of The Patriots (even though the name itself should have gave it away).

One thing I didn't really like was the religous terms Eva used for how Zero was using Big Boss. But shocking reveal during that whole segment nonetheless.
