some other shows worth a watch if you haven't already:

Akagi
Kaiji
Casshern SINS (emo warning)
Gunparade March
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (derp love drama)
Juuousei (can get homo at times)
Minami-ke (my favorite slice of life, just avoid season 2)
Moyashimon (only watched 1st episode but heard good things about it)
Sorcerer Stabber Orphen (very old fantasy show, one of my favorite thanks to that launch ps2 game)
Starship Operators (crazy girl space tactics)
True Tears (derp love drama)
Zettai Shonen (only liked the first half)

yeah I didn't wait.  I skipped DTB2 because it looked dumb!  But I figure I should at least give ep1 a chance at this point.
I did enjoy the OAV ep1 though and will watch the rest of the OAV.
DTB2 is good but like most animu shows it ends with derp ending that leaves more questions unanswered.

I watched it for chinese electric batman anyway.

some other shows worth a watch if you haven't already:

Akagi - can't watch an anime if I don't like the art; don't like this style
Kaiji - same; watched ep1 back in the day
Casshern SINS (emo warning) - watched a few eps, was slow & boring
Gunparade March - watched this
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (derp love drama) -never heard of it, will check it out
Juuousei (can get homo at times) -saw it; was kind of awesome until the ending that was terrible
Minami-ke (my favorite slice of life, just avoid season 2) -heard of it, never checked it out.  Will grab ep1
Moyashimon (only watched 1st episode but heard good things about it) -Saw ep1 when it aired; was ok but wasn't a fan
Sorcerer Stabber Orphen (very old fantasy show, one of my favorite thanks to that launch ps2 game) -yeah, saw some of this in the 90s, lol
Starship Operators (crazy girl space tactics) saw ep1, didn't like
True Tears (derp love drama) watched this.  Don't even remember it
Zettai Shonen (only liked the first half)  I think I saw ep1, didn't leave much of an impression

Will check out Hanbun no Tsuki, maybe Minami-ke

Bebpo, Akagi and Kaiji are like...the best animu ever.

just try to swallow the long noses and all artstyle for an episode or two and you will get hooked fast, it was like One Piece for me, weird artstyle at first but fuck that THIS IS AMAZING.

also, did you watch Seirei no Moribito? I didn't like it but same author/studio made another animu called Kemono no Souja Erin and it ended recently at 50 episodes, might wanna give it a try.

But they are about gambling too (well at least Kaiji)!
I don't like sports anime!

I dunnnoo maybe I will try it again at some point, but the noses + sports makes me have zero interest.

I liked Moribito.  I like everything by that guy (GiTS SAC, Moribito, East of Eden).

Casshern Sins was really really slow because it was trying to be too artsy.

I love Casshern so I was really excited about that.  It has a nice art style, but was so dull :(

If this show doesn't have ep titles, this will be hilarious

hanbun tsuki ep1 - was alright.  I'm a sucker for depressing stuff and since it's only 5 more eps I'll probably finish this up.
DTB2 ep1 - plot seems real stupid.  Hei is evil antagonist now?  Loli twins?  Same reckless disregard for human life DTB1 had?  smh.  Might still watch it because it's Bones though.
minami-ke - too moe for me.  Seemed like Yotsuba&/Azumanga but not as insane and with MOE.  When the sisters were running around trying to kiss each other I had to bail.

Unfortunately after having decided to try to get back into tv anime with 3 nights of watching ep1s, I then watched In The Loop which was about 1000 better than any of the anime I watched and now I wonder what is the point and my time is probably better spent watching good films because all these recent anime suck in comparison :\

how many animu and games you watched/played, bebpo?

do you really think hei was being all evil? he did the same fucking thing in season 1 (bitch slapping and killing that contractor right before the opening.)

edit: i am not sure what you mean by her being small/loli because derp, she is, i was just pointing out how they are brother and sister twins, not loli twins.

Yeah and I thought Hei was a terrible character for most of the series.  Anyhow I know where the plot is going, but it's just a super cliche start.
DTB is one of my least favorite Bones shows.  None of the characters are likeable.  They're all cold-hearted killers.  At least towards the end Hei got better.

One reason I'm actually enjoying the DTB OAV is because it's end of S1 Hei where he just barely passes the likable mark.

that's the whole point of the show, contractors think rationally and not on some human emotions.

and if you watched the show, you would remember how hei tried to save that doll in the first episode or how he tried to save havoc or how about when he told yin to choose for herself.

hei can be an ass (he is chinese electric batman after all) but he only kills when he needs to.

derp.

hanbun no tsuki ga noburu sora e got contrived real quick.  "Hi, I love you and I'm going to die really soon but since you have porn I'm going to get pissed off at you and refuse to see you" + EVIL JEALOUS DOCTOR @_@

It's too bad because the main pair are the kind of sappy sad romantic couple that I enjoy.  Hope the last ep or two is worth it and full of MAN TEARS like any depressing romance tragedy should be.

Trapeze ep2 was pretty good.  A lot better than the first ep with the acrobat.  I like this show.

K-On! is kind of boring and I think I'm going to drop it.  Does the show get better when they actually start playing music?  The potential for a quirky girl comedy version of Beck with great animation is potential I like, but the first couple of eps were kind of dull.

And even though Bakemonogatari is full of itself, it's my favorite show of the bunch.  It's so entertaining and slick looking.  When I finish an ep I want to see the next one right now.  Most anime these days lacks this kind of "insert next ep" addiction.  I think last show I had that with was Kurenai.

Bakemonogatari is so good.
Ep3 is basically two people in 1 spot talking for almost the entire episode and yet it's more engaging than 95% of anime episodes.  The writing is craaaaazy and the crazy visuals accompany it well.

I think I just like shows where the script per ep is like 400 pages.  I enjoy my dialogue.

meh, doesn't make it not good!

This may become my favorite anime since Baccano.  It's super self-indulgent otaku pretentious show about nonsense conversations set to nonsense visuals.  Yet...it works.

I think it's Shinobu's best show since Soul Taker.  Much better than Moon Phase & Zetsubou Sensei imo.

The show is basically the same show as Trapeze/Kuchuu Blanco except instead of 1ep arcs they are 2-3 eps.
Person has traumatic event, needs to overcome it, this is expanded with a slideshow of symbolic art & hilarious nonsense dialogue for the whole eps.

I don't think it is an award-winning show, but for me it hits the right notes.  I finished the 2nd arc, the snail one last night with the loli.  I can't believe they spent all that money making the OP for that arc and used it for ONE EP.  That op was lolloliliololloli

For those getting Gundam Unicorn on Blu-ray...

Quote from: AoD Forums
I started the disc by choosing the Japanese option (I haven't tried either English or French, yet). BD-Live's menu has "What's New", "Special Contents", "FAQ", "My Favorite", and "Information." The "Information" menu provides download options for a Gundam 00 trailer that runs 1:06 (which I'm presuming is for the movie, since there's something there that I don't recall having seen before), a VOTOMS trailer that's about the same length, a Tales of Vesperia trailer (1:41 long), a very short M(ai/y)-HiME BD trailer, and a very short Zeta HiME BD trailer.

Now to look at the English side of things... Select BD-Live... The menu options there are "What's New", "Special Contents" (all Gundam UC promotional stuff), "FAQ" (which contains nothing), and the empty "My Favorite" screen.
