Other than the FF Bobm there was not a single new Core announcement it was all casual casual casual casual. The FF13 is huge but still.

I am one of those guys that only buys consoles when they hit 200 dollars (like most of the NA market). I don't see how anyone with a brain would choose PS3 now. I was completely expecting to buy a PS3 (and that would be it) before this generation started.

Great start to the conference, then it sucked big time, then it finally had a pick up with FF13. Not as bad as 2007 or 2005, not as good as 2006. Biggest problems: New XMB-clunky interface, Mii clones, shitty new interface with GAY all over, shitty movie and tv shit, lame ass 'casual games' like singstar copy, eyetoy copy and another shitty scene it. The biggest offender is the omission of PC gaming as a whole. The good: FF13, Gears 2, Fallout 3, RE5, Fable 2, GeoWars 2 and Galaga.

I can't believe Sony lost FF13. They should have been trying to iron grip that thing from Microsoft's sacks and sacks of money.

Agreed. The netflix announcement was great, but the Mii-toos were awful. But then it was saved at the end by the major exclusive steal. Their strategy still does not make sense to me. They've done great so far by catering to the hardcore, why do they have to go and fuck up Live with Mii-toos?

Here's what I liked:
Gears 2 looks fuckawesome as always
The possibility of Netflix on Live, that's awesome
Fucking Portal Still Alive, omg omg omg
Rock Band 2 is rocksome
Final Fantasy XII holy shit

Things that I didn't Like:
Fallout 3 demo was boring
Fable looks horrible
RE5 looks exactly the same as RE4, animation and all
Avatars completely fucking the awesome, established blade UI. Now we have a horizontal Playstion UI that is barebones and ugly. Blades for ever, I hope you can switch between the two.

Average conference, makes me hate Nintendo a little because they made MS succumb to horrible levels to ruin their UI. Cool announcements though.

It went from showing some fucking awesome gameplay segments, to MS trying to breach in to the casual market (Sony will do the xact same) with some moderately interesting changes to the dashboard, to an exclusive deal with netflix to FF13 being on the 360.

I'd love to see what your definition of a great conference in REALITY is.

Some unexpected, exciting gameplay demonstrations. What we got were predictable, boring "demos" from predicted attendants. And the Gears 2 footage was a shitload less interesting than the earlier gameplay demo, so what's the point?

I'm trying to think of my reasons to own a ps3 now.

If FFXIII is coming to ps3 I have no doubts MGS4 will too. That really just leaves uhhh Yakuza and uh...Valkyria Chronicles, both Sega games. That's...really just it.

Atlus is developing a next gen SMT, which is obvious since they need people with rpg experience to work on 360/ps3. I really really don't see a reason for me to get a ps3 until it is like 150 dollars.
