yeah

and they also got new footage there, hope we can see that soon

Quote
- The R rated version of Dr. Manhattan pointing at and exploding North Vietnamese soldiers. Very gory.

- Laurie pulling the tarp off of Archie with a look of amazement in her eyes.

- Rorschach at Blake's apartment, discovering the hidden closet filled with The Comedians weaponry and costume.

- The Minutemen photo shoot showing Sally Jupiter rubbing her eyes after the flash.

- Dollar Bill on the floor, cape caught in the revolving door with bullet wounds in his chest

- The Comedian's smiley face badge getting that first drop of blood on it during the fight with Adrian.

- Nite Owl's nightmare when he is kissing Silk Spectre as the nuclear blast goes off behind them.

- The Comedian's face slashed with the broken bottle at the bar in Vietnam.

- Dr. Manhattan's hand breaking through the ceiling at Karnack as Ozymandias ducks for cover.

- Dan sitting sullenly, in front of his costume closet, holding the Comedian's bloody badge.

There was no dialogue, just music. From a fan's perspective the movie looks to be so well done, no complaints here. Some of the scenes looked exactly like the comic, it was phenomenal! More later.

I can't remember correctly but I thought the alien was important since there was nobody 'else' to blame,  though a 'natural' disaster could work I guess.

They could go with the alien angle, just alter it, because imagine how goofy that alien would look on screen considering how goofy it already looked on paper

have huge ships crash and send out the pulse instead, with fake dead aliens inside, like extraterrestrial jihad

The photography, technique and "feel" of those promo shots make me fucking giddy. Man. Plus the fact that their nearly perfectly ripped from the comic  :D

Yeah that would be better, the alien angle also worked because the US and USSR had to team up to face a 'common threat' or something.

Some people were complaining about "The Comedian"'s face but Darunia's post clears that up :D

Quote from: Aintitcool
The most important thing about the footage was watching it that big I was really struck by how much the cinematography actually reminded me of the early ‘80s cinematography. While not in any way similar stylistically, the grain and depth of field really reminded me of BLADE RUNNER for some reason.

In the comic he wears a suit, then like a 1920s circus weight lifters outfit, then underware with ass cheeks exposed, and then he is balls naked.  He should be balls naked in that scene.

How long before nerds complain that they're called the Watchmen in the trailer and not Crimebusters?

The nerd backlash against this adaptation is going to be so, so strong.

Like 80% of that trailer was in slow motion.  Snyder-vision confirmed.  Nice use of Pruit Igoe, but what was the faggy singing at the end?  Philip Glass does not approve.

Ditto.

I think it will fly for people who idolize the book and have waited forever to see the characters on screen but it's a very different vibe from the source material.

It's like loading a comic with splash pages.

I've heard that many times, just never knew the source. I can't listen to it without fake montages and random lines flying through my head

"he's a man"

"or is he?"

"what do you know about the CIA?"

"it was as if he could fly"

*mindblown*

Watched it again, and I really think that the first part of the trailer is pretty good, but the second part was absolutely ruined by Muse. I imagined Rorschach's voice as totally monotone. I'm fine with Dr. Manhattan's voice; I never really imagined it as god-like.

I'll probably end up liking this, but it definitely won't be the best superhero movie ever. The chance of that was kissed goodbye when Zach Snyder signed on to this.

This had better not be delayed.

But I was at a theater Monday night and they had pulled down all of the Watchmen character banners they had up :(
