Poor Obama. :(

If you thought the Hillary supporters were bad when her campaign ended, I can't imagine what the Democrats will do when McCain wins.

McCain has this in the bag, Triumph.  I'm not sure where this confidence is coming from.  Obama had a SMALL and diminishing bump from his convention, and I'm positive that all those white folks with one black friend who told the phone pollster that they will vote Obama will cling to their closet racist ways come Election Day.

Obama's saving grace really is getting into as many televised debates with McCain as possible.  That and a lot of lower class and working class voters come out in force for Obama.  These guys care more about making sure they can get what they need rather than the VP's teenage daughter.

Palin's numerous flaws only make her more endearing to soccer moms.  The soccer moms can remember when they were in some radical organization at college getting their Mrs. degree in Sociology or Journalism or some other throwaway LAS degree.  So they will understand Palin's flirtation with AKIP.  Bristol's pregnancy reminded them of the time that they banged the starting Tight End and had that pregnancy scare.  That she is going to have the kid and the father will marry her is a happier ending to that time whn that bastard OLB who humped and dumped her.  If you think soccer moms and their ilk don't feel that way, you have lost touch with what they want.

Palin is so imperfect that she embodies the numerous fuckups that a lot of middle class suburbanite women went through.  Palin can relate.  That is why Palin will get their vote.

I'd like to note the following:

Everyone thought Hillary still had it in the bag back then and I wasn't even rooting for her!

I'm not voting for the Republican ticket.

Last, but not least, if you honestly believed that, you wouldn't be so defensive.  Your rebuttal tells me what you're really hiding - fear.  Fear that you will live under four more years of a Republican President.  Fear that our Vice President will be hot enough to masturbate to.  Fear that YOU will be drafted to fight in WORLD WAR 2.5!

Afraid, you are.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/09/02/alaska-party-official-says-palin-was-not-a-member/
Quote
The chairwoman of an Alaskan political party that advocates a vote on the state’s succession from the union said Tuesday that she had been mistaken when she said Gov. Sarah Palin was a member of the group.

A front-page story in The New York Times on Tuesday and articles in other news media reported that Ms. Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party for two years in the 1990’s.

The information in the Times article was based on a statement issued Monday night by Lynette Clark, the party’s chairwoman, who said that Ms. Palin joined the party in 1994 and in 1996 changed her registration to Republican.

On Tuesday night, Ms. Clark said that her initial statement was incorrect and had been based on erroneous information provided by another member of the party whom she declined to identify. The McCain campaign also disputed the Times report, saying that Ms. Palin had been registered consistently as a Republican.

After checking the party’s archives, Ms. Clark said that she could find no documentation that Governor Palin had been a member of the party. She said Ms. Palin attended the party’s 1994 and 2006 conventions and provided a video-taped address as governor to the 2008 convention.

Looks like the NYT needs to do some better vetting themselves.  :lol

America's still pretty racist, it's just out of fashion.  I think the only reason Obama won most of the caucuses was that most people there didn't want their neighbors to think they are racist.  So I bet when they get into their private polling booth and nobody's looking they'll fill in a bubble for the white man.  Later when people ask who they voted for, they'll say Obama.

Then again I'm feeling really cynical today.

Gawd, treating Congressional approval ratings as if they were approval ratings of the Democratic agenda is THE talking point of the season for conservatives in denial.  A lot of that disapproval comes from lefties like me who don't like seeing the current majority stymied.

Check the likely Senate pickups and the generic Dem vs. Republican ballot.

They've actually got a term for that sort of thing: the Bradley Effect.  I saw a study that concluded this was a real factor during the 80's and early 90's but not anymore.

I don't think that people are secretly going to vote against Obama when they support him publicly but I do think race will be a factor.  Out of Democrats who say they're undecided or voting for McCain, over 40% think Obama will "do too much to help black people".

Watched the convention with an open mind.  I was surprised Fred Thompson gave the best speech of the night, but did anyone notice the cave man grunts he did in between words?  haha good stuff.

WOW at Lieberman I didn't expect him to rip into Obama, if McCain looses his career is over.

LOL at Clinton getting an applause at a republican convention.

I'm still surprised the liberal media pundits are so terrified of Palin though it kind of reminds me of when Kerry went after Cheney, meanwhile Bush smiled his way to the white house.
And lol at Obama people knocking her on experience, if she isn't qualified to be VP then he certainly isn't qualified to be president.  Neither one of them have a lot of experience and I don't think that argument can be used by either side now.  Seems reform/change has become the new thing.  My prediction for the debates...

Obama:  Change, Washington is broken, Change!  McCain = Bush, Bush I said!

McCain:  Reform, my friends reform, my friends Obama voted present.

I don't buy that for a second.  I mean, in the legit politics of it all, the argument can't be made, but for us talking here, it's pretty ridiculous.  Obama's been a politician since the early-mid 90s, in a state government (Illinois, which was in fucked situations before he arrived) AND national government.  Palin has been a PTA member, a mayor of some 9000 people, and the GOVERNOR OF ALASKA, one of the most "that's apart of our country?" states in the nation.  My high school principal is more experienced than her, going by what the mindset these Republicans have.  She would get nearly 1000 new students each year.  In fact, I'd rather see her on the ticket than this pyscho.

What's more amazing to me is how if they say something enough, it becomes true.  MAVERICK REFORMER!  MAVERICK REFORMER!

Also, today's breaking story is that in 2007 as Gov. she fired the entire State Agriculture and Conservation Board and replaced 'em with her cronies, ostensibly to save a state run dairy.  Of course, in two months the dairy folded and ended up costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Roughly $20 million worth of dairy equipment was sold off at a steep discount to a Palin crony who now, remarkably, runs a dairy that he started with the help of a Ted Steven's earmark.

But yeah, she's gonna go in and clean up Washington.  MAVERICK REFORMER!

most of my problems with the current republican party and john mccain's candidacy can be summed up with their pick of palin.  she tried to have` a librarian ban books from a public library on the basis that people who voted for her found the language offensive.  when the librarian didn't comply, Palin tried to have her fired.

and that's "just" a fucking librarian she tried to push around.

I'm sorry but after the blatant illegal politicization of all kinds of federal services in the past 8 years, the last thing I want is someone who thinks she wields this kind of power anywhere near public office.

Sing it sister.

There are going to be a lot of true believers still scattered throughout Labor, Justice, the EPA and the rest of the federal bureaucracy just waiting to throw a wrench into a Democratic administration.

If Obama wins I'd almost guarantee a "scandal" where one or more of those are fired, demoted, or reassigned and we get to hear that he's the one who's really politicized these positions yadda yadda.

Approx: 6:00 "She was an AIP member."

Oh me, oh my.

Looks like Beardo and others need to apologize to the New York Times as well as Wilco.

Now you bet if Michelle Obama was in a secessionist political party, if she EVEN ATTENDED a single meeting (let alone TWO conventions) the GOP would rip her to shreds. Or, tell me, is this another "private matter"?
