About this Palin lady, as our governor, and as somebody who's been in the news in the Alaska media for quite some time, there is stuff I'm learning about her for the first time over the last week.
I'm not saying that she isn't vehemently anti-choice, pro-creationism, and super pro-gun. I'm just saying almost all of her really conservative positions are news to me (well except for the gun thing, but hell, even the democrats here wanna drill and shoot shit). Not surprising news, but its stuff that she never emphasized before. Of course, this being a very politically conservative state that I live in, she never had to, but I think its worth noting that she is widely seen as a fair bit more progressive, or at least, less of a loony-toon rightie then the Governor she preceded was.
If they really wanted to, the democrats could challenge her conservative record.
"Why is it just as easy to get an abortion in Alaska as it was three years ago Sarah?"
"Why isn't creationism taught in any school district in Alaska, Sarah?"
"Why are all of your 'reforms', just the basic cleanup stuff that comes from taking over the office from an obviously corrupt predecessor like you had, Sarah?"
Not that the democrats have the stones to paint her as a liberal (she ain't even close to one), but I'm convinced that she's way more talk then she is action.
