I just re-watched Total Recall, a Blu-Ray remaster came out today. It's the earliest theater experience I can remember. Mars atmosphere and its effects on Arnold scarred me for life.

Yes, but not in the way you're thinking. Sean Bean was always out in the real world. It was Alyssa or whoever and her mom that stayed "trapped."

I'm glad he's in it, I love continuity nods like that in films where it would be so easy to just cut them out.

Also this is the movieverse where Pyramidhead does whatever the hell he wants. The nurses too. The real question has always been if the movies can take those elements and use them in a new, cohesive way instead of just set dressing. I'm still split on if the first movie did that, but I liked that movie so I let this slide.

Blair Witch was pretty cool because nobody had done anything like it before. Now it's being used an excuse to hire no-name actors, drop the budget to pocket change and a box of Cheez-Its, and not bother with pointless things like framing, cinematography, plot, and actually making a good movie that people want to see.

I don't think it's taken seriously. I've never paid for a Paranormal Activity movie. I've gotten reservations via Gofobo for each one but they were really fun in a crowded theater. I have never met someone that actually cares about the story or thinks it's legitimately good film. It's just fun.
