The 1982 Paul Schrader flick. I was unaware that it was a remake. It is woefully mediocre, but feels like it belongs in that 70s/80s era of storytelling where the protagonist becomes (or is) a murderous beast/animal and is somehow sympathetic because of the love story. But not really.

For an erotic thriller, I was pretty bored.

Fun fact: Jerry Bruckheimer produced it!

I still love it, with all its faults included. It's still incredibly unique, has amazing action sequences, and it's still the best superman movie ever made.

Whedon's movies/tv shows has this air of superiority about them that drives me crazy. It's like he is always impressed with how witty he is in the dialogue he writes. It's like a geeky Diablo Cody.

Although I really don't care. Nothing Marvel has been doing lately gets me interested. I have no hype for Iron Man 2 at all and thats out in what, 2 weeks?

The Last Express is awesome.  The story and style is one of the greater ones in video games.  The real draw was how it felt like you were on the train; it was all real time and other people on the train had their own lives that you could observe if you wanted to.  They can't replicate that stuff in the movie but I'm still pretty excited to see how they work it out.

I don't know what's best/worst part of that movie; the scene where a shirtless Victor is rolling around on the floor with the monster while they're both covered in goo, or the scene where Victor is making out with Elizabeth and he's like "My sister...my wife".

Speaking of Shakspeare movies the Ethan Hawke Hamlet isn't that bad. Most people didn't seem to like it, I thought it was pretty solid for a modernization with the exact Shakespeare words. I thought it was done better than the DiCaprio Romeo & Juliet

I'm not sure how I feel about Whedon. I know he's got pretty huge fanboy cache, but nothing the dude has done has ever really wowed me. I've seen bits and pieces of Serenity and I agree, it looked barely a step above a TV movie. Him doing some $200 million superhero summer epic seems like a recipe for disaster.

It's not good, but I wouldn't call it terrible; it's entertaining despite De Niro seeming so ridiculous. Coppola's Dracula is pretty flawed but I really found it entertaining as well, and obviously it's better than Frankenstein. Dunno, maybe I just like classic monster movies.

Coppola's Dracula and Brannagh's Frankenstein make a pretty satisfying double feature. Dracula is the better of the two, surely, but I agree with PD that Frankenstein is still enjoyable despite itself. It's just so balls out wacky and really nails the manic, frantic strangeness that the story needs. Also I prefer crazy over the top DeNiro to fucking "lolol time to visit my kids!" old man DeNiro :'(

Winona's tits basically counterbalance Keanu's atrocious accent/performance. Also it has Gary Oldman chewing the entire fucking backlot and the effects are great (and all done in-camera, too!). It also nails the atmosphere and turns the original story's weird sexual perversions and shit all the way up to fifteen.
