Run Lola Run (but not really)
The Butterfly Effect (but not really)
Source Code (but not really)
Groundhog Day
Primer (maybe?  Haven't seen it in a long time)
I've seen those all except Primer. Seems interesting

Primer seems pretty awesome.  Odd that the guy didn't do anything for 8 years after this movie.

Today will be another day with Tree of Life on in the background.  It really helps keep the rage down when I'm doing boring spreadsheet work.

Hey chuck Norris, why don't you kill yourself you overplayed meme son of a bitch?

Rambo was great but some of those kills were crazy low budget. I was hoping Expendables 2 could be Rambo-violent with a budget.

Like, I want to see Terry Crews shotgun two tall dudes legs off and jet li to run up and scissor kick them in the face since they'd be on his level. I want to see Statham take that knife Lundgren gave him in E1 and slice a dude open and have his guts spill out on the ground (then I want dude to try and stuff them back in). And I want Randy Couture to spear a dude through a concrete support beam and have whatever the beam was supporting to fall on dude and just fuckin' pancake him.

There are things that I want to see I blame Norris if it don't happen. Go back to hawking Total Gyms, fucking asshole.

Every American dojo I've ever trained in has some story about Chuck Norris and what an ass-clown he is. In Japan, the dojos I've trained in have never mentioned him. They have a lot of words about Steven Seagal though.

and Stallone confirms the PG-13
Quote from: the guy who though Rhinestone was going to be a big hit
the film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance… Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry…Sly
crap.
this is really freaking stupid.  The Expendables 1 was shot for PG-13, and got rerouted to and R rating after fans noticed, "why the fuck would I wanna see a PG-13 action movie".  You would think the success of the previous film would have emboldened them to push the envelope, I guessed wrong.

I'll still go see it, probably because it will be the last chance I'll ever have to see Jean Claude Van Damme in a theater unless I ever take in a film while visiting Brussels.

Lame.  Stupid decision.  A lot of people were even disappointed by the first because of how soft a lot of the action and how it was obviously shot with PG-13 in mind and now they're going full PG-13?  Wasn't the blood digitally edited in for the 1st?  They better have more scenes like the shotty scene in #1 and less bullshit.  More of sad Rourke though please.

I'm gonna get hate here but Fast Five really didn't do it for me.  Maybe the bar was set too high by the reviews of others but it felt like a nice way to waste my time, nothing more.  After it ended I pretty much shrugged and picked the next thing and I can't even remember shit from it outside of the train scene.

Watched Timecrimes again.  I couldn't finish it the first time but I'm sick so I had the time and energy to just look at a screen.

I still think that Triangle is a better version of a similar story.

I actually thought the exact opposite.

Ditto, but its been so long since I've seen either that I can't remember why.

the Primer guy has a movie he wants to get made, but he's still working on the financing.  Damn shame, but considering that even the people who really liked Primer were confused as hell by it (like me), and that hard science fiction is a tough sell, it shouldn't be surprising.

hope it pulls it together and gets a shot in the big leagues.

oh and Timecrimes > Triangle (but only just)
dumb protagonist FTW.

ps
And you can add to that list Orion Film's last film Retroactive, which is a pretty good B-ish, time travel/repeat thriller that contains an inexplicably entertaining Jim Beluishi performance as the heavy and 90's direct to video starlet Shannon Whirry as the eye candy.  And Bill Clinton's brother in a cameo.  On paper it should suck hard, it doesn't.  No great masterpiece, but at least the company that made Robocop and Amadeus went out on exceptionally good late 90's direct to cable/video movie.  Those are more rare then you'd think.

Moneyball - Enjoyable but sadly very very predictable throughout. I had read the book and so on but I was really hoping for a little extra pizzazz in the execution. There wasn't a single killer line of dialog or even the kind of emotional release you expect from a sports movie. I guess i know how it feels to be an A's fan now eh.

Oh :(  I thought his performance was great, but the actual lines are what cracked me up.  I think he's an awesome actor and he pulled off the cheesiness perfect.  I'm serious when I say it's the best part of the movie because it mixed cheese with a great performance.  But for some reason the combination of it being pulled off perfectly cracks me up

Yeah, it's depressing when your emotional climax is a 20-game winning streak and not something playoff related. The movie is mediocre. I never expected much, though. Give me Major League or Bull Durham every day of the week.

Well, the emotional climax was Beane JINXING a 20 game streak, with far more time devoted to the losing game than the victory montage...ok, i get the character angle there but it was still zero fun to watch.

Watched Deadly Breaking Sword which is a weird fucking kung fu film.  It's not your standard 70s student seeking revenge for his killed master.  Rather a rascal teams up with the villian of the film to uh do something.  It wasn't really clear.  But lots of good fights and lots of horrible Cantonese Komedy.

Haywire

A confident, almost laid-back at times spy drama punctuated by sudden, brutal violence. Haywire features some of the best, most-well done hand-to-hand fight scenes in an American movie, they're just such an eye-opener after the frenetic, can't-see-anything style made popular with the Bourne trilogy. Sodebergh's cinematography is just absolutely excellent throughout and he know exactly how to perfectly frame each and every scene, from quite moments to chases and fisticuffs. And you really can't say enough about Gina Carano, she absolutely owns every scene she's in and is a physical force of nature not to be reckoned with, exuding the kind of absolute self-confidence you'd expect from acting veterans like Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie. And it's just really a great cast all around, with Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton, and Antonia Banderas. And the soundtrack? Pure 60's psychedelic, which somehow works so very well. This is not Mission: Impossible, it's all more grounded than that, the action scenes are right there in front of you with you two people locked in a physical struggle where you can see and feel and hear every hit. It doesn't get caught up in special effects and high-flying thrills, but it's not less exciting to watch.

So I watched Primer last night. Wow, that is not a movie to see when you're not sober. I love how unforgiving the writing is. Missed a piece of dialogue? Yeah sorry it's not getting repeated ten times for you to understand it. All in all a pretty awesome movie. I kept dreaming about the concept last night.
