Overnight
I feel like this and American Movies are very similar. Both are about filmmakers who are struggling to make it big with their respective movies and both are about filmmakers who, to some degree or another, are hopelessly delusional. The difference being, that at the end, you feel sorry Mark Borchardt. Troy Duffy got the big opportunity out of nowhere to make both of his ultimate dreams come true [making a movie and making an album] and he blows it because he's totally arrogant and a complete jerk. But Mark works day in and day out for that one shot and, even when he finishes his film and gets an ovation from the audience at the screening, you know that he's only achieved a small sliver of success. But he'll keep working at it anyway, because making movies is all he really has. Troy, with his movie, achieved a similar measure of success, but seems to just completely give up after it fails to meet the expectations that he's set for it [although, 9 years later, he's back with a sequel, for whatever that's worth]. So, breaking it down simply, Mark is hopeless loser but somehow lovable and Troy is a raging douche who'll never make it unless he changes his tune dramatically.
