I'm not elitist! But yea, scrubs need to gtfo of my raidz  :maf

Tonight was pretty awesome, and a break rebound from the Mimiron disaster. We started ToC 40min late which obviously isn't a good thing...but wound up finishing it in record time. After that we sprinted to Ony and for another 1 shot. By that time it was 11:11pm and our raid schedule for the day was already finished. We had enough core folks on to head to H ToC (10). Got to the Worms pretty easily on first try, and for a second I thought we were going to 1 shot it before we wiped. We wiped about 12 more times, some dumb, but many more close calls. One person in particular kept fucking up by getting hit by Icehowl's charge, causing enrages. First time it occurred when Icehowl was at 30%, second time at 5%. UGH. Shortly after that our raid leader DCd and we had no one else to replace him....

So we headed to OS and zerged 3 drakes; first time I've ever done it.

Shortly after that the raid leader came back and we went back to H ToC and killed Northrend Beasts; 22 wipes total. I figured Lord Jaraxxus would be easy but got stuck on him, and eventually called it. OT couldn't keep adds under control (mainly because dps wouldn't give him enough time imo). I wanted to do them, but I had to stay on boss for interrupts (warrior tank ftw). We had a shaman and DK who could interrupt but they were sucking pretty bad, so raid leader didn't want to risk the druid taking my place on the boss.

Fun night, huge repair bill but I'm not complaining. I hope we put Ulduar hard modes on the backburner (maybe once a night), and start focusing on H ToC whenever we can. :bow

I cleared TOTGC10 with a pug (even got Tribute to Skill with 44 tries remaining). I think I'm gonna quit WoW until Icecrown hits. I don't feel like I can get any better gear right now (except for Death's Choice maybe):

I'm on Ravenholdt. Dunno if you'd want to transfer here. Horde are like 70% of the server, and the raid situation isn't great.

i dunno. It seems alright. I just joined a raiding guild as an app. I quit before patch 3.2 and have never done TOC/TOGC so I guess it's time to research some new encounters.

That sucks; have you done the fights before? A rouge would be pretty helpful on Jaraxxus (if you don't have warrior or DK tank) and definitely Faction Champs

Last night was pretty cool. We did 3 drakes (I got the achievement last week), then many of us joined with a couple other guilds for a ToC 25 man run. It went very smooth, although members of my guild fucked up a couple times (ie getting hit by Icehowl's charge lol) and we 1 shotted everything. I got to OT thankfully and won some boots, a blacksmith plan and a trophy

Definitely saw a difference in raid leadership on display. The host guild's raid leader was calm and explained stuff even though everyone knew the fights. Who knows, maybe things would have been different if we were failing but it was definitely different from our guild leader who's pretty uncaring and obnoxious at times.

Let's project this out: For the sake of argument, say Icecrown comes out Decemeber 1st, just to make the math easy. On Dec. 1, we get Wing 1. Now, Blizzad's wording on the release of new wings is "several weeks." To me, several weeks means more than 2, so I'm going to say 3 weeks between release of each wing. That puts wing 2 at December 22nd. Three more weeks puts Wing 3 at January 12. Finally, Wing 4 comes out February 2nd. If your billing cycle starts on that same December 1st, you pay for December, January, and February--three months--just to *see* Arthas, provided you and your guild are good enough to get past the extremely limited number of attempts you will initially get in Icecrown. Then, you kill Arthas that week, let's say, because you're that good. The week of February 9th is when you can start hard modes. Start. A raid initially released on Dec. 1 will allow for hard modes to begin on February 9th. My powers of prognostication and experience as a guild leader / recruiter say that many, many guilds will not survive hard modes.

That article goes overboard at times but I have a feeling many people will be parroting those arguments in a few months. I have no problem with gating in general, I just wonder how I'll feel about rehashing the same content just to get to new content two months from now.

Limiting the amounts of tries sounds like more of a problem than gating to me.

well i guess i musta sucked on my pally then. it was hard/boring.

I really like my shaman tho. Lv76 and it's sooo obvious I'll be doing crazy dps once I get to 80 and geared. Shame I didn't get it to 80 in time for tomorrow.

Tomorrow should be badass though. Got a test and study session to attend, then I'm free. I doubt the servers will be stable enough to do anything meaningful in ICC but we're gonna try. Plus I wanna see what the weekly raid is; would be fun heading back into Naxx to kill some shit.

speaking of which I got black heart trinket on my prot pally

edging a little bit by bit to the 30k hp mark I want

People a little wary of new tank in blues for heroics, mainly due to threat I would feel. I managed to hold threat in heroic VH in blues. Need to do heroics for badges to get the prot libram.

I definitely want a lv80 prot pally...I just doubt I can will myself to get there. My pally is on another server, and horde...meh not paying for faction change/server transfer. If I get serious I'll make another one on my main server.

I doubt I'll take another character 1-80 until Cataclysm. In the meantime I'll probably make a DK; definitely want to try tanking as a DK

Yeah it's not hard to get groups as a lock as they're severaly underpopulated. Just man up to 80, then run some regular ToC, as that pretty much gives you Naxx equivalent gear.

Granted I have no idea how hard the new 5 mans are so I could be lieing.

I'd imagine the multi-server LFG stuff could cause some problems for the rest of the day. It might be the most exciting thing in 3.3 to me. Playing on a small to medium sized server makes it hard to find groups for lower lv characters, so random server searches will be a godscend. Plus using this, you can do heroics multiple times and not have to worry about lock outs.

Shitty patch day for me. I joined a group for the new instance, but we got dc'd on the first boss. Couldn't get on for a few more hours, at which point I realized I got saved to the instance boo.

Then my computer started acting up right as my guild entered ICC. I left raid to deal with it. Wasted an hour and a half taking things apart before realizing the problem was pretty simple (loose fan was making a shit-ton of noise). Luckily the guild didn't do the raid without me, but at the same time it sucked that my computer problem caused them not to be able to raid (I'm MT).

Oh well. The LFG thingie is very nice; I'm about to test it on my lv76 shaman

We cleared the first ICC wing tonight. Marrowgar wound up giving us the most trouble surprisingly; had 5 wipes lol. Mainly due to people not paying attention to the aggro wipe, or fighting in front of the boss even after being yelled at.

Lady Deathwhisper: 1 wipe. I expected this fight to be tough, but we breezed through. The adds weren't a problem at all, and eventually I stopped paying attention to their casts. P2 was a breeze

Icecrown Gunship Battle: 3 hilarious wipes. First time I was being a dumbass and forgot to jump off the ship; Saurfang beat the shit out of me. Second wipe I wound up rocketing off the horde ship to the very edge of our ship, then falling off lmao. Third wipe wasn't my fault! Very fun fight, and I'd kill to see a 40 man version

Deathbringer Saurfang: No wipes. Surprisingly easy. He only reached the Mark of the Fallen Champion cast twice so we got the achievement

Overall I like the layout, and some of the trash fights are fun. The Gunship fight is my favorite raid boss in ages and I'd imagine Deathwhisper will be a nice tanking challenge on heroic, whenever it comes out. Marrowgar is fun as well. Saurfang was pretty meh, probably because we stomped it so easily lol

eh I rather like the new 5mans. Haven't tried the raid. Was not a fan of Ulduar, felt too big and bloated. Pit of Saron is one of the better five mans in wotlk now that I think about it.

still seems to be alot of exp gain honestly. and its still the easiest pvp battleground to do.

I'll do one later and make notes of what i did and how much exp i got. or try to.

Edit:

Did one, came in towards end.

Capped one graveyard.

got 8 honor kills

587 bonus honor

got around 18-20k exp

Got to lv78 tonight, pretty quickly with the lfg system. I've basically given up AV because the instances are so much faster, plus you get gold; I made 100g doing instances lol. I think I can hit lv79 tomorrow, although I'll probably be hamstrung studying for finals

Trying to decide what to do once I hit 80 though. Right now I'm leaning towards getting my resto tier stuff before enhancement. Should make me more valuable, plus it'll be pretty easy to get decent dps gear through instances; from what I've seen it seems like a decent geared enhancement shaman can do lots of dps, assuming they know what they're doing.

C. Is there a severe difficulty curve in healing Utgarde Keep over something like Sethekk? I got destroyed in my mana and couldn't keep the tank up at all. It sucked and was embarrasing.

PD, have you been getting emblems of triumph from random dungeoning? My druid gets 2 embels at lvl 71 every time he does a random dungeon. I figure leveling like that you'd be able to buy a piece of t9 by the time you hit 80.

I get 2 emblems a day from the first random LFG I do, like getting 2 frost emblems a day for the first LFG at lv80. If you're getting 2 each time that's a bug. Right now I have 10 on Daeny; the most you could get this week without the bug is 12 (tues-sun)

A few people were getting 2 frost emblems for every dungeon they did this week, hence people already having 50+ frost emblems, and not even stepping into ICC

The only holiday thing I ever did was do the  brewfest thing to get loot  :lol

Shaman is lv79, half way to 80. I probably won't get home from school/library until around raid time for my main (ICC at 9pm), and after we roffle the place I'll jump back on my shaman and hit 80.

I heard they nerfed the dmg Marrowgar does to tanks. Our healers will be happy

Friends keep harassing me to resubscribe and cool young dude at 60, and right on cue Blizzard gave me a free month of play time for no reason. I'm tempted, but this game is such a disease
