11:15AM Over in the playable area for World of Warcraft, there are two big signs, draped in black fabric to hide what they're showing. Pretty sure that means there's a new expansion to talk about, and pretty sure that means we'll also be playing it at the show this weekend.

yup

Do you also post on the mmo-champion boards? I noticed the avatar when I saw it on mmo and then in that gaf thread.

What I wish they would do with the new races is allow people to start at 58 like they did with DKs. It would help balance out class population if more classes could skip past leveling to 50.

Nah, I don't post on the MMO Champion boards. I enjoy reading them, though.

Forgot to mention we downed Yogg (10 man) a couple nights ago, making us the fifth alliance guild to do it on the server. I wasn't there sadly, but some funny shit happened. The guild leader's router crapped out in the middle of a try, and he wasn't able to sign in for the rest of the day. So after the group downed Yogg they started texting the gl's phone, telling him they failed on Yogg because of him etc. They set up a calender date for more Yogg tries, as if he wasn't already dead. When our gl got on the next day he signed up for the raid, and I told him the guild was about to explode. He freaked out, then someone linked the achievement and he went nuts (in a good way)  :lol

Would have one shotted Twin Val'Kyrs if our healer didn't let me die lol; got him on next try. Extremely easy.

That raid is essentially a loot pinata. We cleared the first three bosses before my 1hr stoneblood flask ran out :lol

(alas no good tank drops tonight)

Downed Anub'arak tonight (10 man normal). We wiped a couple times, each time with him around 10%. Wasn't hard, and I got:
http://db.mmo-champion.com/i/47835/b...e-royal-guard/

We then tried the heroic 10 man and got owned.

So I dinged 80 and immediately went and healed Heroic AN. And we did it without any wipes. My gear is basically a full set of Overcast (level 78 PVP gear, about equal to level 80 loot in SP) and one piece of Deadly Gladiators + some SP enchants.

The warlock was bitching at the beginning that I didn't have good enough gear...she was owned.

Ha, I'd be shaking my head if my healer was geared like that. But by the end, sounds like I'd have friended you

Anyway we've been trying hard modes over the last couple weeks. Last night we got FL+4. We also have XT, Iron Council, Hodir, and Thorim down. The problem with focusing on hardmodes is that many people don't get to raid; currently we just take the best folks. We have enough people for another 10 man group, but the guild leader is dragging his feet. I've been recruiting folks, trying to get enough to start 25 mans again. We'll see where it goes

I did TotC 25 today for the first time with a PUG. We wiped about 20 times, and the raid disbanded at the twins because of shitty healing/DPS. It wasn't very fun. :lol

However, I now have almost enough Emblems of Triumph to get the new DPS libram. :rock

I have like 120 EoT, haven't used any. The new VoA boss drops all that shit, but then again my server is dominated by the horde so alliance rarely gets VoA :(

Living Bomb is so fun in PVP now.

I slapped it on these two undead near the alliance gy and they were both dying so they ran into the little house there and all I saw from outside was the massive damage when the bombs went off and the honor point gains :rofl

I got a resto dual spec on my shaman today and healed some of BRD. It wasn't as interesting as I expected. Maybe because the pally tank wasn't taking much damage plus he was holding aggro very well so all I was doing was throwing small heals on him. I played around with timing, figuring out what's a good time to throw a bigger heal vs spamming small heals.

Someone pulled a huge pat and I got swarmed/killed, after which a druid in the group asked to heal since our dps was lacking.

Got from lv51-58 this weekend on my shaman. Two heirlooms+AV+quests were a great combo. I'm loving the eastern/western plaguelands quests (which I didn't do on my main), and had a blast in a couple Strat runs. Wow, that place must have been epic when it was a raid.

Went through the dark portal before signing off and just looked around for a bit/flew to Honor Hold. I'm gonna finish my plageland chains before getting into Outlands quests. I'm gonna quest in different areas when I do though; on Goinio I stuck to Hellfire Penn for a long time.

It was never really a raid per se, was a 20 man instance then reduced to 10 man then reduced to 5 man.

I actually kinda miss those, 20 man instances.

Guild got the Knock Knock Knock On Wood Freya hard mode last night. I thought it would be hard but we only wiped once.

Then we moved on to Mimiron's hard mode but only got in a couple tries before folks had to leave. If people follow directions/pay attention I think we can get it, but damn it sure looks annoying.

You'll be back to test out IC, and later for Cataclysm. I'd bet a leper-ship on that  :-*

Guild drama tonight. Tuesday night we started Mimiron's hard mode (10 man). Our first couple tries were ugly but it wasn't long before we were making great progress; we were getting to phase 3 consistently before calling it. It's a hard fight but I had fun and definitely think we can do it.

We were supposed to pick things back up tonight. Had 9 of our core folks ready to go, but one of the core dps didn't show up. One. An hour went by and he's still a no show. So we have 9 people in raid, and a total of 17 people online, yet the guild leader didn't do anything for an hour and a half, then people started leaving and the raid was cancelled. We were going to be wiping tonight anyway, I don't see why we couldn't just add one of our 80s and start.

I'm not a hardcore raider who goes apeshit over stuff, but I certainly don't like my time being wasted. Instead of raiding I was ambushed with negative whispers from disgruntled folks, and vent was filled with snarky comments.

I like our guild leader but he botches so many aspects of guild health/relations. We rely on 10-14 people, our core, and everyone else basically rides the bench while we focus on hard modes (guild leader wants the proto-drake before 3.3). We had two ToC 10 man groups for awhile, people were happy, everything was going fine...then we threw that out the window for Ulduar hard modes. Sure I want to do them, but raid weeks that mainly focus on 10 or so people aren't healthy for the guild. I suggested we get back to two ToC groups - start it at 9pm (first group on tuesday, second group wed), then at 11pm the core folks head into Ulduar. Vetoed. Now the complaints are rising and the guild leader is looking around for people to blame. Sigh

Why join a guild that focuses on 10-14 people, with everyone else reserved to the bench. Having more geared/good players would help ensure raids weren't canceled due to someone not showing up, but ultimately most raiders are more interested in ToC/25 mans than 10 man hard modes

Based on the amount of time I've had to play lately, being 70 is pretty awesome. Been running around in Howling Fjord doing quests. About 3 blocks from 71.  Can't wait to get to 80 so I can do some of the high level dungeons and begin gearing my character out.

I scammed 7000g over a weekend advertising myself as a representative of MMOwned offering sale of a Swift Spectral Tiger mount for 1000g. I'd give them a false 26 digit code, say, "Thanks! Enjoy the mount", mail an alt the gold, log out and delete the character. I felt shitty for a while, but at least I got my epic flying mount. About two weeks down the road I got a week-long ban and the players ostensibly got their gold back, but the great part is that the GM only took away the mount itself and not the 300/300 training :lol

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I also scammed multiple people on markeedragon using an exploit on the WoW account page :-\ I'd offer a trade (usually with a much better geared character) and even go first to gain their trust, but the exploit allowed me to retrieve my account via password reset after the trade was complete. I'd then transfer their character to a new account, get the old one banned, and sell the characters to Chinese gold farmers. I don't know if it's good or bad that this is probably the most fucked up thing I've ever done to anyone

Anyway uber fail tonight. We've been working on Mimiron's hard mode and tonight was a complete disaster. Almost 3 hours of wipes. The last time we went there was definite progress being made, which is the key to hard content imo; if the group is making progress, even if it's slow, that makes the raid feel like something more than a bunch of wipes.

Not tonight. I can honestly say I witnessed the worst raid awareness and downright stupidity that I've ever seen, in all my WoW playing. It was like watching a bad Thaddius pug constantly fuck up basic shit. First off, mines. DON'T WALK INTO THEM. I made sure not to drag the boss through mines, and I only moved it by strafing (to make myself a safe run path during shock blast). Yet multiple dps and even healers were getting hit by it. Our guild leader has this addon that tracks fails lol, and by the end of the night multiple people had been hit by mines 30 times.  :lol

Second, Frost Bomb. GTFO. Mimiron does this at the beginning of phase 2, every fucking time. That people got hit by it every fucking time. I created a nice "FROST BOMB GTFO MELEE" macro, the raid leader yelled out in vent, but none of that stopped the fail. By the end of the raid multiple people were recorded at 20-30+ fails on Frost Bomb

I dunno what to say. Maybe people don't care? But if they didn't care, why would they hang around for almost 3 hours. I can understand a few mental lapses, but not 30. I didn't expect us to beat it tonight, but I at least expected progress. We've dominated the other hard modes (haven't tried Vez or Yogg's hard modes yet), but I honestly don't think we can do Firefighter if people are this stupid. Oh well, maybe we'll finally put some actual focus on heroic ToC now.

Don't the sales go to a charity?

50% of the Pandaren Monk sales do, the Lil' KT sales do not.
