sorry to be a noob, but Heirlooms?

*I have yet to get a character to 80. My Destrolock is 75, but I havent played in a few nights. I normally play about 1-2 hours a night when I do play. I try to do battlegrounds and LFG dungeons.

Heirlooms are items that bind on account which you can send to alts; armor, trinkets, weapons, etc. They increase the amount of xp gained; you can get up to 20% more xp gained by using them. Each time you gain a level the stats on the item scales.

Gotta be lv80 to get them with badges though

so, if I buy them with my main 80, I can use the items on a brand new level 1 to super power level quickly? And do the stats always go up? (As in the next level 1 I put them on has insane armor stats/bonuses) Or do they reset with each character they get put on?

it resets but it doens't really. For example if you have it on a 74 rogue and movies it onto a 30 rogue, it would have the stats of a level thirty item.

And it doesn't make you level super fast, just a little bit of a bigger boost.

20% is a nice boost imo. Add the random lfg xp in and you're ready to rock. Especially if you're a tank or healer lol

The only holiday thing I ever did was do the  brewfest thing to get loot  :lol

Shaman is lv79, half way to 80. I probably won't get home from school/library until around raid time for my main (ICC at 9pm), and after we roffle the place I'll jump back on my shaman and hit 80.

I heard they nerfed the dmg Marrowgar does to tanks. Our healers will be happy

How could you not want this:

I'm both, do you think I should be doing those non stop instead of questing? I have all heirlooms you can get btw.

If you're a healer or tank you'll get groups extremely fast. Save up some rested xp and then go crazy running instances. I barely did any quests from 76 to 80.

Got my T9 dps gloves. I figure it'll be easier to build up a decent dps set, then start building the resto set. Plus, I'm usually the only shaman in groups so I can take dps and healing gear

Had my first run in a 25 man doing VOA yesterday. Hit 6.4k dps on Kol. A pretty big jump from the summer when I last raided at all. 2-3k jump perhaps. I was hitting 4k in Naxx, but the mobile fights of Uldy, my melting cpu and latency knocked me down. Plus, Elemental Shaman is a spec that Blizzard doesn't seem to recognize as truly existing or having a purpose, so I long ago gave up on the class and just play it because I like the playstyle.

Slowly gearing up my shaman; I decided to focus on enhancement gear to ensure I don't get kicked out of groups for low dps. I have the 2 set bonus and some other pieces, but I'm still using an heirloom mace and a lv76 mace lol. My dps isn't horrible though - I've hit 3.3k before on trash, and 3k on a few bosses. It's so obvious my dps is going to be insane once I'm decently geared.

Meanwhile my resto set is coming along nicely. I've done a shit ton of randoms this weekend, yet only came across one other shaman; which rocks because I can need dps and resto gear. I don't think I'll try healing heroics until I get my 2 set bonus.

I'm considering dropping my holy spec to go retribution. Although even in Prot i'm top DPS while levelling up and being the tank, so I don't know if that's a statement about how op palies are, how amazing I am, or how shitty the average wow player is.

Also, if one more fucking night elf / draenei death knight drops death and decay while i'm tanking i'm going to burst. What are these people, idiots?

Oh, it also saddens me that once I hit 80 I really won't be able to tank anymore, or anything of worth without hours of investment as a DPS and hoping I can get tank gear that no one wants :/.

Shouldn't be hard. There are lots of uber geared people grinding badges through the lfg system. And don't forget to do reg ToC for the Black Heart trinket, which still rocks

where did gender come into the conversation?

Most people played shadow priests because they use to be valid utility, but Blizz never really managed to work every former utility hybrid back into legit DPS when they went homogenized. It's a real gut-tearing splattershot by inept devs. Feral Druids and Boomkins are miles apart in legitimacy and they're the same damned class.

I've been healing heroics with my shaman for the past couple days; had two horrible runs that ended in fail, but the majority of runs have been successful. It's pretty damn fun, and I love situations where I seem to go into auto-pilot, where if I fuck up most likely a wipe will occur. I don't feel that when I dps; in fact I just follow whatever rotation is required for the most success. I definitely feel it when I tank though. :bow

Guild drama update (on my warrior): I'm getting so tired of arrogant WoW players. I'll never understand the stupidity behind people complaining about "welfare" gear and how it's so easy to gear up. The funny thing is that most of the people who make these arguments didn't spend any time doing hard modes in Ulduar or TogC. Obviously the ICC hard modes aren't out yet, but when they do come out I fully expect to witness these same fucktards standing in fire and ultimately not showing up to raids. This arrogance is really annoying me.

To make matters worse, our guild leader lets this environment fester. He'll join in on lambasting a guildie, or making fun of someone for screwing up. If someone sucks they need to be talked to, but embarrassing them in front of everyone is stupid. It's an unhealthy environment. Honestly I'd leave the guild if I could find a legitimate alternative. But the best raid guilds on our server are too bloated for me to make much of an impact.

Bumping so we don't derail Kosma's thread anymore

In raid news: we spent up our Lana'Thel tries last night. At one point we had her at 40%. I definitely think we can get it this week. The bloodbolt would constantly kill a healer or caster right before Lana'Thel's air phase; people were not spread out correctly. Once that's corrected we'll be fine. Also, since a healer didn't show up our enhance shaman had to go resto for raid heals; he did alright, but he's just not a healer. Once all our healers show up we'll definitely have this.

I actually caved in and re-subbed last month, but I already cancelled again. I was gonna cool young dude at 39 until I discovered (upon hitting 39 and queueing for a battleground) that twinking is dead in every battlegroup thanks to the active/inactive XP split they did with battlegrounds a few patches ago. Blizzard hates fun.

Oh yeah, and I can't even ride my Gladiator drake and flex my epeen in Dalaran on my 70 rogue because of that cold weather flying bullshit.

I should really sell my account but I just can't do it :'(

New VoA boss is pretty easy, well on 10 man; talked to some people who struggled in 25 man, but I'm guessing it was just ranged dps being dumb.

Then we breezed through the first wing of ICC 10 and one shotted Festergut. We've been stuck on Rotface for the last few weeks, but tonight we were doing very well on him. On our second try we got him to 15%...then our raid leader/healer DC'd. Some folks called him and he wasn't responding, so maybe he lost power dunno. We definitely would have got Rotface tonight if he didn't DC. And it also sucks that we had no healers to take his place.

Did ICC 25 tonight in a joint raid with members of my guild and a couple others. One shotted the first wing before getting owned by Festergut and calling it; it was a great raid. I think we can get blood princes

It feels good doing a drama-free raid. Our raid leader is a complete selfish asshole, and too petty to come to the weekend 25 man because it was another guild member's idea; he demands people be good to come to the 25 man, but runs it extremely laid back and smooth as hell. If it was up to me, he'd be our guild leader.

Grats man. :bow :bow

We one shotted Putricide (10) last night which rocked. We should make more progress in the coming weeks now that our top dps is finished with night school, thus allowing us to raid 3 days a week instead of 2.

Meanwhile our joint 25 man with a couple other guilds is going good. We have the first wing down every week, and are making progress on Festergut. Dps has definitely improved, and soon we're gonna have to start not inviting some folks if their dps stays low. Which kinda sucks because some of them are people we've played with for years, leveled with, etc.

We tried Valithria tonight. Wipes galore but I definitely think we'll get it. Our biggest problem was that healers were often focusing on Valithria so much they didn't heal me or the OT. I died so many times damn

Lots of damage going around. Interrupting/stunning adds is a good idea; healers need all the help they can get.

You need 1 healer not taking portals (if you're prioritizing adds correctly) and 2 continuously building stacks of the healing buff (taking every portal).  The fight soft enrages at about 5:30 so near the end when they have ~30 stacks blow bloodlust, put Guardian Spirit on her if you have a Holy Priest, and have them go crazy.  They'll stay out and finish the fight at this point.

On 25 man Lich King we made it to phase 3 last night.  Should kill him on Thursday since we'll be doing our normal farm clear today.

Yup we had two going in portal (resto druid and holy pally), one staying out (resto shaman). Our shaman is an off spec healer and not too great; I think this will would have been easy if our main spec third healer showed up. Or if the raid leader (resto druid) would agree to not go in the portal, instead of trying to compete with our holy pally lol.

btw how's the difficulty level on LK as compared to the rest of ICC, in your opinion?

Resto Shamans and Holy Paladins are the two best classes to send into the portal.  Ancestral Awakening procs on the dragon for whatever reason so you get enormous Healing Waves.  A Holy Paladin can hit 11K HPS on the fight without going into the portal with beacon, though.

The Lich King is much harder than anything else in the zone.  The execution isn't that difficult once you know what you're doing but learning that takes a long time.  If you don't understand how Necrotic Plague works you'll spend 7 minutes in phase 1 and feel the fight is impossible, if you know how it works it'll take 2-3 and be really boring.  Phase 2 will feel impossible for a while as Val'kyrs drop a raid member off the side of the platform every time and people fill the entire platform with defile but once you know what you're doing it won't be that bad.  Etc.  It is probably tuned too tightly for most 10 man guilds, right now.

Got her tonight after a handfull of painful wipes. Resto shaman going into the portals definitely helped.

Then we headed to BQL and got her to 5% on first try, with each following try getting worse. We should get her tomorrow

The PvE progression there was always garbage, so I'm assuming this is Blizzard's ingenious solution.

It's just world of instances now anyway. there's no reason for a pvp/pve server

They should just make every server PvP to filter out all the keyboard-turning scrubs

Blizz should balance horde/alliance on servers. My server is about 70% horde, so being alliance really sucks with respect to Wintergrasp and other things

Logged in for the first time in a couple days today, and saw an invitation on my schedule to a wedding. It's for a couple of people I've played with for ages without knowing they were getting together irl lol. The funny thing is that I can't even laugh or anything, I'm actually kind of excited and plan on attending in full roleplay gear  :lol

Got that covered! The wedding invite says some invitees have been asked to wear "pvp attire" to guard the reception
