'nother quick question - the Super Mutant Behemoths.. I think it was the Brotherhood who took out the big one in front of Galaxy News Radio HQ, not myself... will I get the achievement still if I kill all the others?

the only one you might have trouble with is the one where you have to collect the audiologs and then steal a teddy bear. The audiologs are easy to miss, and not all the walkthroughs out there are correct

I found Pinkerton and turned the android into Zimmer this time around. Last time I lied to Zimmer. He gave me the VATS helper.
I went into the National Archives and teamed up with that girl again. I was walking into an area and tripped a mine so I jumped away but it blew her in half. Should I take her shit and finish it alone? Last time we made it back and split the caps and all was good. Anyone do Stealing Independence without her?

I met with Harkness first, got the plasma pistol, then told him I'd kill Zimmer for him. Went over to Zimmer, reported Harkness, got the VATS helper, and killed Zimmer and Armitage (nice Neuromancer reference there).

Tale her shit. That SMG is fuckin' awesome. She'll almost inevitably get killed in the quest, anyway. If she somehow manages to survive there's a small follow-up quest, but f it.

Nope, because I had Harkness's permission. Didn't lose karma either.

Now I gotta decide what I want to do with Tenpenny Tower... I kinda feel sorry for those ghouls in the subway.

I'm going to Tenpenny tower next I think. I didn't murder Burke yet and I didn't shoot Tenpenny before I let the ghouls in. I think I'll kill the ghouls this time unless the ghoul mask is a must have down the road.

Nuka Cola Challenge wasn't that bad. I had saved all my Nuka Cola Quantoms from the start of the game. By the time I took up that quest, I had like 24 Nuka Cola Quantoms. Sucks for those that actively used them though :lol

The Dunwich building did annoy me though. I fucking hit the end and all that's there a named ghoul, a group of them and a small cache of ammo (also the Bobblehead). Weak.

Yesterday i was all "i need to sell some stuff i got last night, shouldn't take me more than 10 minutes"

and then i played for 10 hours straight.

 :-\ :-\ :-\

game of the year, probably generation, best thing to happen to rpgs since FFXII made FF totally irrelevant.

Must... resist... urge... to open up my 360.  I got an Arcade and the 60 gig hd accessory pack yesterday and opened it up just to verify that indeed, I got a Jasper.  150w power brick was there, last 5 digis on the serial are 84505.  I'm golden.

The problem is that my dad is bringing me an hdtv for Crimmus, so until he shows up this Wednesday I'd have to play the game on a shitty ol' tv.  I don't want to rape my eyes, so I'm holding off.

All the more reason to play it now. Just think of how much more you'll appreciate the new TV when you finally see what you've been playing in hi-def.

The guy I was supposed to save for the lil' girl kept running out of the pod even though I would tell him to stay. If I tried to take out the slavers before opening the pod, he would be dead INSIDE the pod after I took out the slavers (Bethesda's way of saying, do it our way motha'fucka"). Also, someone had a fatman, I don't know who but it was fucking creepy. Everytime I neared the exit, a giant explosion would go off. I'm all like wtf.

I ended up hunkering behind the back area (with the slavers), throwing down mines and doing what I always do to people who get through. Shotgun to the fucken face! I'm sure the Dart Gun would have helped immensely

I still wish the dungeons were actually somewhat interesting...
The dungeons are awesome.  It's all about survival and planning and a bit of luck.  I don't need the standard dungeon>multiple levels>boss that has been done to death for ever.  I would rather scrounge for stimpacks and end up beating mutants to deth with their own hammer because all i have left is dog meat and no ammo.

No, it's not really the survival/planning aspect... it's just the actual design, inside of them. They present areas that may seem like they're interesting, only to have you spend most of the time in sewage systems or rooms, with hardly anything to set them apart from one another. And usually they are of square room/interconnected hallway, with the most random junk strewn about (wtf is a tricycle doing in a water pump facility?). It's my main gripe about the game.

At the point I'm at in the game, very few areas require even a stimpack use, I have a whole ton in my inventory as well. When you first start out it's still very hard but things get very easy once you do a few quests and level up.

I have this weird bug in Paradise Falls where, after completing Strictly Business, if I walk into the slave quarters, exit, and go visit Grouse, he will pay me again for capturing Flak and Susan (exact same dialogue as in the quest) and give me another slave collar.  I can do this again and again.

Doing that (Moria?) Survival Book Quest to completion is good. Mainly because you get a good final reward from her. Other than that, her and the Atomic bomb defusion were the only quests I partook in Megtaon :lol. I mostly wandered and explored.

Well it's not just megaton quests really, I keep bumping into other quests while doing the handful of megaton ones which takes up time. In the middle of the one for this lady in megaton about delivering a letter to her cannibal brother I wandered into some kid being attacked by ants and it led to a quest that took me forever to do.

I did the leaky pipe quest in Megaton which is awesome because now I can trade my scrap metal to the water plant guy for 10 caps a piece.

Yeah, you also get some nice EXP from giving him scrap metal.

Level 18, in the midst of the main quest once again. Then it's time to complete my schematic collection and the last few remaining subquests. I'm just worried I won't have enough speech challenges (I have like 32 or something) and computers hacked.

Well, I have 41 speech challenges and haven't done:
Nuka Cola Challenge
Oasis
Superhuman Gambit

and a few whose names I forget, so hopefully I can get the remaining 9 here. I saved Big Town, I should check out those people and use the exploit if I cant find 9 more. I have 40 terminals, should be easy to find the last 10. Doing a 1000 point run looks to be extremely doable at this point, provided I put in 30 more hours or so.

I didn't like Oblivion, and I'll admit that it's because I was a Morrowind fan and Oblivion was a huge letdown.  Part of the reason I kept playing Oblivion was because I got the PC version and was able to download many fixes for it.  If I got it on the 360 I doubt I would have bothered.

After Fallout 3, I'm curious to see how ESV will turn out.  All my big problems with Oblivion were solved in Fallout 3, but a bunch of them were partly due to the change in setting.  If they can bring it back to the fantasy setting and have all the improvements (plus more), then ESV will be great.

Fallout's world is just so boring. You'll see somewhere you want to go but there's always irradiated water or boring subways you have to go through to get to your destination. And ammo is scarce. I also wish you could just carry some hammers to repair your stuff instead of having to find the same weapon.

Ya! Having to scrape by in the wastes is just to high maintenance. ::)

I felt the same in the beginning. But there is so much to do that, as you develop your character, makes it so much more an enjoyable experience.
I love the feeling of, "Fuck! I don't want to go in there..."
Now I'm at the point, even at level 10 on my 2nd time though, where I feel that these bitches shouldn't fuck with me. :maf

I just hit the level cap, and from that I've lost quite a bit of motivation to play further... I have about 5 quests left to do (and the final main story quest), and 12 bobbleheads to hunt... there are quite a few areas I have yet to explore (the campsite north of the Evergreen Mills for instance, the Dunwich bldg, etc) but I don't really have too much motivation to do that, I don't feel like fighting since I have nothing to gain from it (apart from an achievement when I kill a few more humans). I still am gonna press forward though I think.

okay finally picked this up, cant wait to get stuck in. One thing before I start, can you get all the achievements from one savegame? I mean if you go good/evil does that forfiet certain achieves or are they all doable?

Jesus Christ in pink socks

vault' spoilers

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Every vault i've been too has been fucked up

I went to Vault-Tec HQ tonight, got all the passcodes. Went to two vaults so far and they're either 1. fucked up and the survivors gone insane or 2. invaded by a bunch of rad monsters.

You can do them all in one playthrough. Keep a specific save file handy for certain alignments. Demi is more knowledgeable about the achievements since he got 1000. Me, I haven't even looked at the achievements list once.

okay game seems pretty tight, just got out of the Vault. read thru the achievements... Im guessing you make new saves before you hit level 8, level 14 and level 20... then boot up those saves and adjust your karma and level up to unlock those achievements? Im sticking with the good side as I figure its easier to lose karma quickly than build it up quickly?
