i only have issues running out of stimpacks, not ammo. i have like 500 10mm rounds, 300 shotgun shells  and 1000 .32mm rounds. only my magnum and sniper rifle are ever low on ammo, so i use the awesome hunting rifle most of the time

2 bobbleheads that may be missable... I found out the hard way that one of them is missable and have to redo 4 hours worth of gameplay today :P

spoiler (click to show/hide)
In Vault 101, on your father's desk in the medical lab. There's a mission later in the game, where any successful outcome locks you out of Vault 101 forever.

In Raven Rock, the Enclave fortress, there is a bobblehead in one of the rooms. This is the one I missed and now I have to reload my save  :-\
[close]

There are also lots of karma manipulators, like giving donations to the priest in Rivet City, giving water to the guy outside of Rivet City, etc. To get the 8/14/20 level achievements, I just created a save when I was about to level up, then go around killing (I played as good).

i think i fucked up the angela and diego quest. i told the priest about them, but then said i hadn't seen them. then i went back and told diego not to fuck around with her and he did, so now she hates him :(

also I told the little kid to fuck off, then his mom got upset at me so i replied "there are no bad children, just bad parents" :rofl

this game is so fucking great

I found an old save game on level 5 that I'm replaying now, since I missed the level 8 neutral/evil achievements. Got the "One Man Scouting Party" and "Data Miner" achievements today, 2 more speech challenges away from "Silver Tongued Devil", ~40 more people to kill for "Doesn't Play Well With Others". 3 more subquests to do, 10 more bobbleheads to collect, and then I go for it.

Scenester: There's a SPEECH exploit that you can use to get the "Silver Tongued Devil" achievement, but be a bit careful when speech challenges come up, try to get as many as possible in the main game.

Just finished the main quest. MEH. That last mission was boring as FUCK.

I had no emotional investment in ANY character in this game. The father, the main player, no one. The endings are shit.

I guess after the greatness of MGS4, the characters and production values in other games seem really shitty...

Argh feel so dumb right now

I was so happy yesterday because I tore up the White House and the Stealing Independence quest without using a single stimpak.  I'm at level 16 right now, and the last time I tried those I was at level eight or something and I got my ass handed to me brutally.  Well this morning I loaded up my game and felt like I should check the options and realized I'm a total dumbfuck when I did.  The other day I started a new game on very easy difficulty to get some trophies for the early quests.  When I went back to my regular game I forgot to change it back.  Now not only am I sad that I'm doing jack shit for damage again, but I feel like I was gypped out of the challenge of beating those two levels on a real difficulty :(

oh i spent like 3 hours clearing out the dupont tunnels, got out, found the mall and returned to megaton, but when i reloaded the mall isn't on the map anymore.

luckily it looks like the tunnels are still cleared.

When you say the Mall, you mean the mall in downtown D.C., right?  I don't think it had an icon.  IIRC there were just icon for all the other landmarks around there.

I use both. I save manually whenever anything significant happens, or I reach a pont after wandering the overworld for a while and don't want to lose a bunch of progress, but I like having the autosave on for the indoor parts, just in case.

Oh.  Mah.  GAWD.

This game raped my face so hard today.  I think I'm gonna roll up another character, tho, because I accidentally took the perk at lv. 4 that gives you an extra 10% exp instead of the one that gives you an extra couple of skill points per level.  OOPS.

Also, I'm afraid I might have fucked up something- at the Seneca station around Arefu I killed a ghoul named Barrett who looks like he was probably there to give quests or something later.  But I WANTED the shotgun on his desk.  WANTED IT, I say.  And I'm trying to play a good character.   :-\

Anyway, GOTY and all that shit.

SHIT QUEST

actually I eventually found out that after going to the memorial and waiting around for a few days, I had to go to the northern metro station that was nearby.  for some reason the group was just hanging around there.  this was after i spent HOURS trailing these dumbfucks because I thought they would get killed without me.

:usacry

I had this same problem.  Did you kill all the slavers around the memorial? It used to tell me they were outside the metro station, but they didn't appear until I murdered all the slavers (including the chief guy who is inside the room near the bottom of the stairs)

Automatic Rifles are horrible in this game and I was proficient at Small Guns. Long Range single shot Rifles rock and Shotguns for intimate encounters. I wasn't good with Big Guns so I'm not sure whats good in that area (the Flamer seemed pretty cool). With that said, my most used weapon was the Shotgun. VATS to the Face nicca!

Assault Rifles are pretty cool if you get the extra % hit perk and one of the + VATS perks from a quest. From mid-range they're nasty especially on super mutants. But my trusty Hunting Rifle + Sniper Rifle do most of my damage before they get close enough to me.

Holy Christ, how the hell do you guys deal with the fire ants in Grayditch?  I'm trying to do the "Those!" quest and my usual method of running right up to something and feeding it a shotgun blast to the face is turning out to be a woefully BAD idea with fire breathing ants.

what level are you? if you're doing this quest at the beginning of the game, not a good idea. You should be lvl 7/8 before doing it. Bring a bunch of rifles, mines and ammo and those ants shouldn't be too much of a problem. And yeah, keep your distance
