FUCK

The achievement for completing scientific pursuits didn't register  :'(

It is also possible to complete the quest without gaining the achievement. Through over exploring, and failing to use the intercom for the Rivet City bridge, it's possible to bypass the Rivet City section completely, as you can stumble across the journals in the Jefferson Memorial (Project Purity HQ) without ever having met Madison Li... since not all of the objectives have been completed in order, this disqualifies you from receiving the achievement.

lol, i got this for finishing wasteland survival guide:

Quote
Author: Moira Brown
Researcher: <player name>

This moderate guidebook contains little of use to experienced wasteland survivors, but could be considered a decent beginner's guide.

The author's obvious passion inspires the reader to new considerations of how to form working settlements and harness old technology, but these high-minded ideals are often dragged down by dangerously misleading survival tips and rambling passages on denizens of the wastes.
Its detailed focus helps in some areas, but is simply confusing in others, especially when the content itself is questionable.

shouldn't have lied so much or skipped the optional sidequests

I wonder if you'll still have fans even if your book is bad

It was great to see someone run up to after I killed a radscorpion to me for working on the book.  The person even gave some supplies that I really didn't need.

Borrowed my roommate's copy and played for a couple of hours.

It is definitely a Bethesda RPG.  Beating up Butch reminds me of Morrowind where I hated the game so much I went into villages and just started randomly attacking villagers.  In fact, I try to beat on as many people as I can in this game.

It's an alright game, will get it when it gets to be under $20

your perks stats depend on how many of those optional thingies you did

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Wasteland_Survival_Guide

Quote
Should you choose to destroy Megaton while this quest is active (The Power of the Atom), this quest will not be affected at all as Moira will survive as a ghoul and continue to give quest updates as normal. She can be found at the ruins initially, but moves to Underworld after a conversation with her, or if enough time passes, she will eventually move herself. While she is supposed to survive the blast, it is possible for her to die anyway. This may occur while she is hanging out by Megaton after the blast because she is killed by Raiders or while on her way to the Underground. Either way, when the Vault 101 player approaches Megaton a message will appear saying "Moria Brown has been killed and the Wasteland Survival Guide will never be written." At the same time a Quest message will appear announcing that you've failed the quest.

this game is awesome

Yeah, I got the mods for upgraded power armor, less weapon degradation, and the level cap workaround. I'm nearly finished with everything now, so it doesn't really matter, but for my second playthrough on Hard it's gonna be great.

Also thinking about the more accurate sniper rifle (is actually more accurate in VATS) and maaaaaaaybe killable kids, lol.

The current version just rolls you back to level 20, and you just keep leveling up and selecting perks, yeah. There's an option for whether or not you want to keep gaining HP (I chose not to, that'd just be crazy).

I recall reading somewhere that one or two of the room themes (Raider, I believe, was one) prevent Fawkes from moving around in your room and he'll block the exit and keep you from exiting or something like that.  Just a word of caution -- make a save.

I did that but then immediately killed the dude looking for Harkness and his bodyguard.

Did that still count as betraying him? To Harkness I mean.

As long as you kill the dude and his bodyguard with Harkness' blessing (and all it took was one combat shotgun blast to the face at close range) before they can get to Harkness, you're good.  You'll lose karma for betraying Harkness, but it's the same exact amount you just gained for telling Harkness about his... er, "condition".  So you get the rifle and the wired reflexes, no net karma gain or loss, and as long as you blast the dude and his goon Harkness will still be around Rivet City and won't care.
