Eh, this prison arc is pretty fun so I don't mind. Plus we keep getting pages on Ace and Whitebeard which is GREAT. I'm digging Luffy's new team. I wonder who he's getting on the next levels. Also I think that

we're not getting anymore out of Crocodile than that. I think it was just a nice little nod to fans, and Croc is still an ass and no point in bringing him into the story arc.

Good characters.
Luffy is awesome.
Not enough comics about pirates.
Artwork has too much "noise" for me. That sounds dumb, but it makes it hard for me to follow along because I'll spend five minutes trying to decipher a panel. The guy is obviously commited to detail but it can be overwhelming. Lets see, shonen jump is up to the bit after first croc vs luffy fight. I really thought luffy had him with that bite move. :[
You know I started reading Naruto because I'm also the social outcast attentionwhore loser but it keeps becoming more and more ridiculous. Like, its exactly the same distinguished mentally-challenged story progression of other shonen (particularly dbz).

Did Viz ever finish releasing Ranma 1/2?

I liked Fairy Tail in J-Land, but yeah the Rave similarities are pretty strong. Perhaps too strong.

Well here's my thoughts:

The reason Buggy has continually been a character and is part of the story now is that he's still changing and growing as a character. Same with Mr. 3 getting some development to be a little different now.

With Crocodile it's like he's still the same jerk badguy he was back then, nothing's changed, and having him escape or something and be part of the plot just means someone fighting him again and if Crocodile hasn't changed it's just...what's the point? I mean maybe they'll use him as a joke like he'll escape and Luffy will punch him once and he'll disappear from the arc, but I just don't see him being important to the story anymore. Same with Moria. These characters are done with their development. I don't think they'll have much point or screentime in the story anymore.

I picked up Movie #8 on blu-ray cause it was only $18 at Best Buy and was supposed to be a feature film level remake of the Alabasta Arc. It was beyond terrible (both in art/animation and cramming plot), but mainly it reminded me how Bon Clay's voice is VERY GRATING.

Anyhow I liked the new chapter. I think this arc gets a free pass no matter what each week because we keep getting scenes with Ace and Ace is my favorite character in the manga

Was a good fight though.

I'm guessing like the Croc fight, he'll need to find some way to coat his fists/feet to be able to hit the guy without taking the poison damage. If Haki is like an force aura, I could definitely see that being it. Either that or it'll be something to do with freezing learned from lvl.5.

I'm just glad that with Ace's execution looming right over there heads right now (within hours?), there can't be much downtime given to Bon Clay rescue force. Luffy will need to be back in action within the next month or two unless Oda plans to kill off Ace (which I don't think he will...hopefully ^^;)

If bon clay becomes a strawhat, it's going be sorta funny in the anime, because both franky and bonclay are voiced by the same person iirc.

i've just found Suicide Island and I'm currently reading that.

The jist of the tale is Japan decides that rather than keep it's suicidal people alive they will just get them to sign consent forms and dump them on a large island. this way they're not a drain on society.

so this cluster of people wake up on the island, realize what's happened and then they see two people not in their group kill themselves by flinging themselves from a high place, they see someone else attempt suicide but fail, just ended up a twisted antagonized mess of broken limbs.

this sufficiently freaks them all out because their selfishness didn't allow them to think about the mechanics of suicide, so now the people are on an island with no convenient food.

i'm only 3 chapters in so i expect it to turn Lord of the Flies pretty quickly. In fact so far in the capter I'm on, there's about to be a gang rape.

anyway, you can check it out at onemanga if it strikes your fancy.

personally I am looking for a good sports manga. maybe a baseball one.
