Jimbei is soooo awesome. As (extremely) unlikely as I think it is, I'd like to see him join the Strawhats. At least let him continue to have a decent sized role in the series, maybe show up every once and a while like Smoker.

Jimbei would make a good strategist. He uses his brain and takes care of the situation.

But yeah, he's too powerful to join. He's basically on par with Luffy and the crew has to be weaker than Luffy so they can't outshine him.

they can't have the same father either. Dragon is Luffy's father, this has been established.

It seems to me Roger asked Garp to take care of Ace. So he raised Ace as his own. So Luffy, being younger, just called him brother. He wouldn't know any of this. They may not be related by blood but they are still brothers.

In any case...This totally ruins my theory that Roger is Robin's father.

Maybe Ace is gonna choke and it'll make Luffy go berserk and make him become THE ONE TRUE POWER. All shounen characters go through it; Krillin dies and Goku freaks. Sasuke turned bad and Naruto gets stronger.

I think Oda may be willing to bend that rule for the sake of character development this time. I mean, really. Someone's going to die. This whole conflict starts a giant war. We just don't know what goes down.

But do you guys really think they'd start a giant war in One Piece without someone dying? Even if it's not a flashback, when someone dies in One Piece, something big happens.

Also, I think Luffy will be reunited with Robin at Marineford. She's with the Revolution Army and there's no WAY Dragon is gonna miss out on this party.

People's reactions to the twist make me think two things:

1. The government got it mixed up and eventually it'll turn out Luffy was the real son and Ace was Dragon's son.
2. Someone on gaf brought up the possibility that Dragon IS Gold D. Roger. Far-fetched but...plausible?

I'm starting to wonder about the Shichibukai. We know Boa wants to help Luffy and Kuma didn't want to kill any of the Strawhats. Now Whitebeards whole crew is about to attack the Marines. Is there really any reason for them to stay on their side? Unless the Marines are way stronger that we realize.

pretty sure roger and garp are cousins, they all share the lineage of D -- which probably ties into the secret of raftel and the lost century and the "one piece" and blah blah blah

it's only a dumb plot twist if you see roger HIMSELF as the element around which the plot must revolve and NOT the idea that roger was just another inheritor (albeit more successful) of the "will of D" like garp and luffy and ace and rayleigh

admittedly, oda has been pretty generous in making roger/luffy parallels at every opportunity so it's kinda hard NOT to expect those parallels to be codifed as a family bond
