The new enemies are weird. Arlong #2 is basically fat Arlong. Looks less interesting than Arlong #1.

Agreed. They skimped out and only made his mustache cut off in half rather than half of his face. Akainu also delivered a Hellbound attack straight to his gut with fire spewing out, and Whitebeard got up and did the aforementioned attack on Akainu.

For all the flaws in the way the anime has presented this arc, one thing they flat out nailed was Whitebeard. In fact, I'd say the anime does a better job at making him look badass than the manga did.

i dunno, still fighting after having half yer face burned off and your guts set ablaze is WAY more badass than the seemingly trivial damage he took in the anime

None of these guys seem like they're the big villains of this arc yet. They all seem like small fry because they haven't done anything nefarious yet. They all seem almost Kuro or Buggy level in terms of scheming.

I'm sure they'll be developed well enough, however.

Good chapter, but the translation seemed kind of broken english bad. Wish there were still multiple places releasing OP.

The build up to Luffy either meeting Jinbe or not is taking too long ;_; I hope he meets him next chapter. Maybe Jinbe blocks the projectile and it's Jinbe + Luffy vs. Decken

I visited this animation museum in nowheresville Korea and it RULED but more importantly the gift shop was STOCKED with weirdo One Piece merchandise. One Piece file folders, coffee mugs, Christmas tree ornaments. I bought a way too expensive deck of One Piece playing cards. lul
