Janelle Monae's album is still my #1 album period so far though.

She also plays a small harp (that sounds amazing), there have been comparisons made to Joanna Newsom but Nancy's voice is very different (and I very much prefer Nancy's).

Problem with that song is ITS FUCKING OVER 5 MINS LONG.

WHY?

So disappointed in this album. Five Ghosts is a far far far better album.

why the hell is being over five minutes long a bad thing? A bunch of good songs are over five minutes, especially from them (Wake Up, Rebellion, No Cars Go).

The album's length itself is the problem. Too many nonessential tracks. Besides that it's quite good though.

I don't monotonous does this justice at all. And how the fuck does it peak in the first minute? That's before the chorus even starts, and waaaayyyyy before the synth lead kicks in. Régine's vocals are great in the second half of the song, too. I don't think you're giving the song enough of a chance.

I got all of the salsa off of isohunt when it was around. think that's gone now though? I burned it to dvds before I deleted most of it, lemme see if I can find the discs. that was before the move, may have to go attic hunting.

I think my favorite salsa album is probably Ali Baba which was Louie Ramirez making a collection of weird salsa under an alias to escape a contract clause with another label.

I'm not that into progressive music in any form, some but not totally. With that said, I found out about Kayo Dot with Mia Matsumiya on violin. Her violin playing with the composition of the music put forth in "Incensing the Malediction Is a Lamb" is very compelling, I was sitting wide eyed and taking it in during the lead in to the middle section.

The album in general sounds interesting, being labled as avant-garde rock (sounds sort of off though)

*I'm listening to some of their older stuff on iTunes and there definitely rock elements and man, this is some good ass music, its extremely different. Elements of Jazz and Rock. Kind of excited over this find.
