I'm playing Innocent Sin. I'm only like 30 minutes in, but the slow text speed is already kinda annoying. Would've been nice if it was adjustable.

Decided to play 1 credit of Ketsui in MAME... it actually went a lot better than I expected, ending on Cinderella Amber (with 0 pixels of health left >:(). I've gotten pretty rusty since I haven't played in a few months, but it also seems my skills have improved thanks to pushing myself on Mushi Futari. Balances things out a little. Now I just need to play a little more often because I'd like to record a 100m+ 1-ALL and put it on youtube. Or maybe I'll go for the tsuujou loop.

Anyway, back to Persona 2 for the day.

Does anyone have Lego Star Wars 3?

I got it cuz I figured it'd be a familiar and fun romp with the wife. But this game seems to eliminate all of the platforming, adventuring, and puzzling and instead it's gigantic arena battles or weird, poorly explained pseudo tower defense crap. We've done almost a third of the game and I can't think of more than 1 or 2 traditional levels.

Biggest trick since Brutal Legend. I kinda wanna trade it in, which I never do... Only spit out 210 cheevos though and I like to get at least half of everything I play.

If you're on Xbox for Brutal Legend, hit me up for multi. There probably aren't many playing multi anymore and there are some tasty 'cheevs for it.

If you want be able to clear the singleplayer stage battles effortlessly, use the multiplayer practice against AI mode on Brutal or Hard and you will become a master.

Then you can go online and someone who has figured out all the exploits will hand you your ass. At least that's been my experience.

Ok, but will you help me farm studs? I want to buy Jabba the hutt after I am done Maxing out the deuce

How does that in any way address his question. LOL

I was responding to the last sentence in his post, since he has BL but only hasn't traded it in because he's not yet got have the 'cheevs. If he wants half the 'cheevs, it would help to finish the game on Brütal difficulty, which has a couple hard battles. That task becomes easier if you've played any multi, which also awards some nice gamerscore.

I don't have LSW3, sorry.  :-\

Fallout NV: Honest Hearts is kind of dry.  I'm maybe 2 hours or so in now.  Hopefully it finishes before it gets too dull.

In other news I'm playing The Witcher (1) a little here and there and it's definitely growing on me.  The music is sooooo ace.

I really need to find time to play Deathsmiles II a few more times.

i put tales of vesperia in for a while and i FINALY got the "great boss" title for repede after pissing all over the world map,i also crafted 99% of the item in the game tough i won't be able to get the "finished the item book" achievement because i missed a one-time only craft >:( good thing for new game+!

currently i'm grinding the cooking levels of everybody and it's so incredibly boring, the funny thing is that i think that "there are only 3 recipe remaining to master" and then *POP* out of those 3 recipe,3 new recipe gets unlocked >:(

EDIT: oh only one character needs to master all the recipe? that would have been good to know forever ago! >:(

I also finished the "Jimmy's Vendetta" DLC in Mafia 2. What a pile of puke. Gotta get that gamerscore but

Deus Ex 3 hype got me interested in breaking out my old copy of the original Deus Ex and finally putting some real time into it:

The deeper I dig into Deus Ex, finally sitting down to give it the proper amount of time necessary to figure everything out, the more I like it. The first couple of missions are okay, infiltrating the Statue of Liberty and then a terrorist base in Battery Park, but the game really starts to shine once you're dropped into Hell's Kitchen. That's where the game finally opens up.

That's probably what I like most about this game: the ability to head into an area full of allied troops, enemy terrorists, and lots of NPCs with your next move all up to you. You go straight to the enemy base with guns blazing, you can explore the whole area gathering intel and supplies, or you can sneak around and try to avoid detection entirely. Each side has reward and risk involved. It never feels like the game is pushing you to pick one way or the other.

The downsides, of which there are two main ones, are that the game is a number of years old [and shows it] and in the enemy AI. The graphics are okay as far environments go, certainly nothing that's going to blow you away by today's standards, but they're much more pleasing than the character models, which look quite horrible the closer you get. There's also the issues of animations, which look incredibly stiff and aren't particularly varied. Enemy AI...well, it's there, but it ain't very good. You can blast a guy in the face and his partner, who's about ten feet away, won't even react. You can also stand in full sight of enemy who's about twenty feet away and he won't even see you. Make's the stealthy less troublesome, but also a bit less fun, since the risk of being caught is way lower than it seems it should.

Those two things aside, it's still a really fun, deep game.

If you take any individual mechanic from Deus Ex, it doesn't work well.  Non-lethal stealth in Deus Ex is bonkers because you must hit a tiny pixel on the back of enemies' heads to knock them out.  JC Denton is a functional distinguished mentally-challenged fellow with a gun until you level up.  There are a lot of broken mechanics like that in the game.  The exploration, conversations and freedom of choice is what made the game.

rpg/stat/dice-roll shooting :piss2

The nice thing about the new Deus Ex is how the individual mechanics are supposedly great.  The previews call it a great shooter, one of the better stealth games, etc.

You never played DX? I envy you.

I've played the first couple of missions before, but never really got into to it. I decided this time that I wasn't just going to play around for a few minutes and then quit.

Yeah, I agree. I'm just so used to playing near-broken RPG-hybrids [Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Alpha Protocol, ect.] that it really doesn't phase me at all. :lol

It's cyberpunk, I'm having a lot of fun with it, there's stats and inventory managements. Got no complaints, really!

Deathsmiles IIx has such great music.  I know DCharlie balks at me everytime I say this, but the Deathsmiles games have the best Cave tunes.  The final boss music is soooooooo good as is the crazy amusement park.

The game is great.  My only complaint is the 2d art (cutscenes/portraits/endings) looks super cheap digital and terrible whereas the first Deathsmiles had really nice art.

Yeah, there's a huge difference in art quality from DS1 to DS2. I get the feeling that Jun either phoned it in or rushed it because he had no time. I'll go with the latter, because the entire game feels that way. I can't imagine how lame version 1.0 must have been :lol

And both DS games have top notch soundtracks. They're not my favorites, but I'd place them somewhere in the middle of the Cave pack. Which means they're awesome because Cave games have the best OSTs. :D

Went back to Crimzon Clover for a little competition on another board, and I beat my old score by quite a lot. I almost forgot how fun this game is, I need to play it more often. It's better than pretty much everything Cave has released since 2007... though I haven't really played DFK BL and Akai Katana of course.

:bow PC gaming

and now I'll play P2 for a couple hours before going to bed. Game's okay so far, but it hasn't really grabbed me yet.

I'll never get tired of saying that.

I'm actually playing a bunch of stuff because ironically now that I have even LESS time to game I don't want to stick to just one game and not play anything else while it takes forever to beat.  I'm doing the ADD gaming instead.  Playing Fallout NV: Honest Hearts, The Witcher, 999, SRW Alpha 3, Deathsmiles IIX and going to start playing Dirt 3 when it comes out tomorrow and then Akai Katana when it comes this weekend.  Fun times gaming :rock

argh

got a new 116m high score in Ketsui, and I recorded it this time, but it came out like shit. Now after messing around with a bunch of settings between MAME and hypercam, I can record decent videos. Now I need to have yet another great run, ugh.

edit: Sweet, just cleared it again while recording. Got a 115m score. Would've been 120+ if I didn't have a bunch of stupid deaths, oh well. Now I'll try to get this up on youtube.
edit2: aaaaand my replay got corrupted. great.
edit3: cleared it again, with 113m this time. hopefully the replay didn't get fucked
edit4: previous replay did get fucked, but I found out what I was doing wrong. So I cleared it AGAIN, with 122m this time, and my replay is fine. Hallelujah. Now to record a watchable video, and then take a break from this game, again.

Beat Batman: AA.

Fantastic game, among the best licensed games ever made, right next to The Warriors.

If there's one problem I have the game it's the repetition. It's like the guys who designed the boss fights didn't really have much creative spark. I fight two big Titan-infused guys with minions surrounding me at least four different times. It felt like any time they wanted to throw in a challenge, they answered with,"let's just put in more minions and infinite minion spawns to annoy the player and call it a day". A nitpick in another wise swell game, and I'm hoping they fix this in the sequel because jesus christ, even the final boss fight is nothing BUT minion spawns. FUCK.

I beat Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.  I don't get all the hype.  The combat was absofuckinglutely awful.  The platforming was pretty good, but a janky ass camera killed alot of the fun.

PoP: SoT is one of gaming's greatests. Excellent script, great acting, great puzzles and platforming, combat isn't perfect but still manages to be badass.

Action RTS.  :wag

I just didn't enjoy it that much.  The platforming and puzzles were very good, but every encounter had tons of enemies and felt like it the developers were trying to pad out the game.  The elevator ride near the end was especially annoying.  I think I counted 30 enemies that encounter and I had to restart it several times due to the princess dying.
