FFS I'm starting to really regret buying Spirit Tracks and I haven't even started playing it yet.
After Phantom Hourglass was so good, it's such a disappointment. Typical Nintendo, I guess.

Everyone will give you shit about how PH was terrible already, but I'm with you.  I enjoyed PH.  It wasn't zelda at its finest, but it was a lot of fun and the touch controls worked well.

Spirit Tracks is unplayable.  I don't understand how this game didn't get 5/10 or lower across the board.  That would have been a real wake up call for Nintendo that they released a truly awful product and need to cut the tedious crap out of Zelda once and for all.  Everyone I talk to is like: Train portions 2/10, Rest 8/10.  But when the train portions make up 75% of the game time... :wtf

Because reviewers don't play or like video games.  "This game is hard, 4/10"  "This requires minimal interaction on my part, 9/10"

Thanks...

Which ones do you want?  I don't really want to type out 50 achievements, lol.

nm, looks like there's only about 20.  Guess I'll do it.

Well are they story or grind related? From the low point values and the secret achievements I'm hoping those are mostly story related.

Some of the cheev names are Resonance Attack, First Contact, First Complete, Material Collector, Serial Shot, Invisible Actor, Tri Resonance, Heavy Hornet, Professional Hunter, Extreme Spiker, Thousand Throw, etc.

Sorry my kanji recognition is horrible. I'm sure someone more learned in the ways of moonspeak can be of more help. I've also got a migraine, I don't know why I'm even trying to read Japanese with a bigass headache. :lol

Seems decent so far. Hope the secrets are story related. I would love a god forsaken JRPG that's easy to 1000... I'm sure it will require more than one play since TriAce has difficulty levels.

Yeah, that makes sense. Still, that's some screwy katakana spelling. You'd think it would be "oba handoredo" instead of "oba handoreto." That "to" at the end doesn't make a lot of sense.

I've been playing alot of League of Legends.  It is a very fun game, but some people take it way to seriously.  I can understand why though, considering a game takes 30 to 45 minutes on average whereas many other competitive games are over in anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes.

I am also going to give AI War a legitimate shot this weekend due to all of Frag's gushing.  I'm going to actually sit down and go through the tutorials and see if I can handle the demo enough to warrant a purchase.

Played some Borderlands.  Got up to Level 5 but got owned by the first boss.  I almost had him killed but the wolf like beasts got the better of me.  I forgot that this is a grind/loot shooter so I guess I need to keep grinding!

I beat him after getting to Level 7.  Also beat Scar, the giant skag.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game.  It has a lot of grindy gameplay, which I love (I really like the Musou series for instance).  I might keep this one longer than I thought.

Gah, really insane difficulty spike boss in KH about 1/2 way in Roxas-wannabe's story.  You know your boss is bullshit when I check the faq and it says "THIS FIGHT IS RIDICULOUSLY HARD, I HAD TO LEAVE AND GRIND LEVELS"  :lol  1 hour of retries and I finally perfect the fucker.  Was not going to go and grind when it was clearly beatable with enough luck and patience.  Still made me want to smash Nomura in the face though.  I imagine this boss stopping a lot of people in their tracks and making them drop the game and move to something else.

Wait do I need the iso as well?  And run the iso on CFW with the actual game in the UMD?

I don't have the iso, would need to acquire that to test.

No, just try the UMD on your CFW PSP and see if it loads up.  Someone said that works and that the new lockout scheme SE is using allows the game to run on CFW from the UMD.  It may be that you need to have the ISO on there too; I'm just curious if any of this is true or not.  Apparently Square is blocking access from the memory stick, which could be another explanation as to why there is no PSN version.

ExciteBots had all the potential to be a great racer, except two things held it back: weak variety in vehicles (each bot is measured by only 2 qualities, weight and boost), and the game's lackluster maps.

Sometimes I can barely see where the hell I'm going because the roads look more like skinny bike trails, and when you're going 590 mph across terrain that morphs, road visibility shouldn't be an issue.

As for the bots, well there are some nice ones but nothing much sets each one apart from the other. Granted, it's a mindless arcade racer, but it would have been nice to see more depth in the vehicle attributes.

Still, it was well worth the $5 I spent on it. Can't complain about that. Once I've unlocked all the cups and vehicles, I'll set this aside. I doubt I'll play it regularly afterwards, but who knows.

Doesn't work.  Gives "game could not be started" error.  Do you really expect a game that requires 6.20 firmware to boot up normally on CFW that is not 6.20?  It doesn't make sense.
The only way I could see it working on CFW is if you boot up the ISO on Gen D3 while having the actually game disc in the UMD so that when it does whatever UMD check it needs it finds the game in there.

Why was everyone crying about having to play as Nero in DMC4? I just got to the point where I'm playing as Dante and I'm already missing my STRETCH ARMSTRONG SLAM DUNK GRIP. :bow Nero :bow2

The level design is pretty poor though, and as purty as the graphics are I think the potential for aesthetic orgasmia is sorta hindered by the drab and samey environments. The forest levels had me cumming, but then it was right back to the fucking boring-ass castle corridors. Luckily the combat is still awesome, and the bosses have been pretty great as well. I felt like a god when I accidentally snatched Credo's spear out of midair and then impaled him with it

Because people are dumb and hate change.  Nero's arm mechanic was a proper evolution of the franchise.  Dante is old and tired at this point.

Nah, Dante is still fuck awesome but it looks like he was really shoe horned in DMC 4.

Its like the Street Fighter 3 scenario all over again(though it had some success).

DMC4 was way too easy. I still need to play through it someday on the harder difficulties to see if that changes, but it doesn't from what I've heard. And making me backtrack through the same exact stages and bosses with Dante was fucking lazy of them. I had no problem with Nero, but I did have problems with the small amount of damage that enemies took and the fact that most of them stand around waiting for you to attack them.

Lyte I tried KH with the latest D3.  If you play the UMD you get a purple screen and then a black screen and your system is locked up until you reset it.

Playing it on the difficulty above normal makes it play like a normal DMC challenge-wise.  The one above that makes it play like a DMC on hard challenge-wise.

It's still the easiest DMC (well I don't count 2) but it's got enough challenge to be fun.

I beat Bayonetta on hard last night. I was planning on doing a 3 hour run on normal, but someone at GAF suggested that I try to do it on infinite climax instead.

I've also been hooked on Defense Grid for the past week and I'm halfway through the story missions. I haven't played many of them, but I really love these tower defense games. During Christmas week I got hooked on Robo Defense for the Android platform. It's the only game/app that I bought for my phone so far. Funny that I paid 50 cents more for it than Defense Grid.

The gameplay in BBS is insane.  Best KH game yet battle-system-wise.  If Versus is anything like this holy crapppp

I'm putting Tales of Graces on hold because BBS is just too good and I can't put it down.  Will probably beat Ventus's story today.  Been playing a lot of the board game because it is indeed very awesome and addicting.

I did get a couple of Pure Platinums though.  Here's hoping the game gets a lot better.  It is definitely offbeat, hearing jazzy tunes while some demon is chewing up a defeated boss is interest.

Went and played FFXIII at the SE play event here in sunnyvale. Got first in line with Roxanne and sadly got to see how shitty the game is looking for 360. Fuck them for taking pictures of us!

Anyways I'm helping Roxy go through Mass Effect, as I already beat it. Can't wait for the sequel.

Playing through God of War (God of War PS3 collection) and I'm just about finished. It's pretty good, but the difficulty is so fucking artificially ramped up at times that it's a little frustrating. Going to take a break and start up Muramasa. Playing some Borderlands too.

At which point was GoW difficult except for Hades spinning blade towers?

When you have to kill everyone before the floor falls out, except when you do kill everyone it's OH SHIT THREE MORE FUCKING SIRENS OUT OF NOWHERE. Was super irritating.

Uncharted 2 - hit chapter 22, I'm surprised at about how much progress I'm making when I only play this game for 45 min or so a day. Will probably have it finished by next weekend.

DQ7 - just about up to the final dungeon. But I'm gonna grind like hell, and then do the optional content. I figure, I already played for ~80 hours, what's another 10-15? Hopefully will finish it up by next weekend or the one after.

Spirit Tracks - haven't touched in a few days, will play all next week during lunch breaks. I just want it to be over, then I think I'm gonna take a break from portable gaming and read a bit.

Starting a Hard campaign with Bayonetta after finishing Normal.  I'm looking to 1000 this baby.  I'm done with the main content of Etrian Odyssey 2, not tackling the bonus content, because some of the quest required to complete the bonus content aren't activating for some reason.  I loved this game, but the quest system needs some major retooling.  Hopefully, EO3 addresses this.

I just started Klonoa on Wii and popped in DQV for the DS as my next portable RPG.

I'm going to send Bayonetta back tomorrow.  I'm just not feeling this game at all and everything feels like a chore; I'm forcing myself to play through every verse.  I'll probably play it one last time tonight but that is probably it for me and this game.

Borderlands still kicks ass.

What don't you like about it?  Please tell me you aren't watching the cutscenes.

What don't you like about it?  Please tell me you aren't watching the cutscenes.

I typically skip them.  My beefs are:

1) It feels claustrophobic.  Tiny, narrow paths to walk down.  Major bosses that take up half the screen - which I typically don't mind but rubs me the wrong way in this game.

2) Lifting the statues and doing witch time to break down magic doors is obnoxious.  In fact, all of those little mini puzzles (not that I consider them puzzles) or things that don't add much value like those magic doors, I didn't really care much for any of them.

3) The battles and fighting system aren't fun.  I tried doing various combos to liven it up but it just feels weird.

It's a very polished game but I just don't care for it at all.  Nothing about it is fun to me.  It just feels like I'm going through the motions to unlock the next cut scene/mini boss, which isn't that interesting to begin with.  Interspersed with having to do various combos and QTEs.

I'm sure it is a good game but it isn't my bag.
