Sounds to me like this is a simple case of you just not getting it.  The team part isn't meant to be taken loosely, unlike a lot of other "team"-based shooters.  The game is specifically balanced to make solo efforts entirely ineffective against a decent team.

I tried to play as a team but there is hardly any communication going on other than people spamming spongebob clips and megaman songs, etc.  Like, there really isn't a server I could find that was magically better than the others.

I've been getting better at Monday Night Combat the past 2 days. Great game, assassin and support (tower defense, bitches) are my two best classes so far. I'm okay with the gunner and tank. Assault and sniper.... I'm completely useless with.

I also bought Castlevania HD earlier and I'm getting Dead Rising 2: Case Zero later.

I didn't "get" TF2 either, btw. I got use to playing with mouse and keyboard, but there were only like 2 matches where I didn't get completely destroyed. I haven't played in over a year.

I 'finished' Fallout 3 yesterday. The end is kind of anticlimactic. Guess I could do more of the optional bullshit.

lol yeah the weakest bit of Fallout is the main quest. If you think you might dig the exploring and sidequests, do the stuff at Tenpenny Towers, the stuff in Canterbury Commons, everything in the DC ruins, The Replicated Man from Rivet City, Shoot 'Em in the Head from the ghoul in the Underworld, Reilly's Rangers from the girl in the infirmary of the Underworld, Oasis at the top center of the map, the slave quests at Paradise Falls, and the DLC stuff if you have any of it. I'm probably missing a bunch but those were most of my favorites. Collecting all the bobbleheads and crap was a nice way to explore new areas too

I'm pretty decent with assault. I'm average with support. Pretty weak with the assassain. Those are the only classes I play and I pick among those based on what the rest of my team picked. The rest of the classes I never pick although other people are obviously very good with them.

Like 25 hours for the story. It's not very long for an RPG.

I sent Fallout 3 back in.  I'm not going to play a Bethesda game again.  I started a new game where I just started beating on Butch, the Overseer, etc.  Most fun I had with a Bethesda game ever.  Even then, true to its Bethesda nature, it did it in the most boring, trudging way possible.  Reminds me of Morrowind where I got so tired of the jank, I started killing villagers for fun.

I'm playing SNES emulators.  Got up to 72 levels in Super Mario World.  Going to try to get all 96 this week.

Gamefly is sending me Nier so I can't wait to play that.
Go for all the endings if you end up liking it. It only takes about 35 hours unless you try to get all the achievements.

Will do!

After finishing Dead Rising 2 Case Zero, I went back and started playing the original Dead Rising again.  I forgot that I really couldn't start with a brand new character unless I wiped out my save on my hard drive...something I really didn't want to do since Frank was all maxed out.  Thankfully I finally found a use for that 300MB (or whatever it is) of internal memory on my 360 and just started a new game from scratch there.

I might eventually just go back to my level 50 Frank after I get bored with level grinding but it's kind of fun dicking around with a less powerful guy.

Gears 2 horde is mind numbingly boring by yourself... so I scuttled off at Level 40 (since I cant even unlock the 50/100 achievements without buying map packs so fuck that) and found myself in the warming glow of DQV DS. Had to read a FAQ to see where I was, but I am on track now.

I found the Gears game enjoyable and there's a few cool set pieces, but they aren't must play or anything. All the faux-seriousness and bromance in Gears 2 is lol. And the character design is atrocious

I've only watched other people play the game. They seemed to have fun. But I didn't like it. There's way too much shooting for my liking. The games look great though.
Probably the only X360 exclusives that push the hardware.

I want more puzzles and exploration. I really can't stand games that flood you with enemy encounters anymore. I only like to play calm games nowadays. And one enemy in Gears can eat your whole ammunition clip.

Alan Wake, Uncharted and Mass Effect are awesome though. Maybe because the action isn't over the top and hectic in those games.  Gears' whole art-style and character design is unappealing to me anyway.

Co-op is alright. Multi sucks.

This is pretty much the only review anyone should ever need for Gears.

The multiplayer is a stinkfest of HALO bros basking in the warm glow of testosterone, racking up curbstomps. The singleplayer AI is like babysitting a special needs kid in a warzone. Playing with a friend is pretty fun though.

Witcher, just started chapter 4. Really enjoying this game, even though I can't really put it into words why. Everything just comes together so well, even if the combat is a clickfest, setting and story is cliche, dialogue is stilted, and running back and forth on the maps can get really annoying.

Anyone playing that Wayforward Batman game on the Wii?  I think it came out today.

The only Wayforward game I played was Contra IV and it was pretty damn awesome, but I think a lot of that was because it was CONTRA.  If this Batman one was on PSN or XBLA I'd pick it up, but as a full priced game on a system that tends to suck (Wii) I dunnooooo

I have it (well... have it)

Only played a few stages, but here is my thumbnail rundown so far:

- Widescreen (yes real widescreen)
- Good 2D animation
- Ugly Wii 3D
- Has waggle
- Requires nunchuk
- 2 Player
- VA is good (lots of quips between Batman & Robin)
- Really easy gameplay
- Can upgrade items (why, you can beat people up by pressing A)
- Has multiple unlockable superhero assists (the first 3 you get are Green Arrow, uh... Booster Gold, and some other chick)
- Can only play as Batman & Robin? Didnt see any option to pick others
- Would have done much much better on XBLA/PSN (considering the game itself is ~2.x GB like shitty Shank)

Um... that's about it. It's definitely much better than the horrible Boy and his Blob. BTW Contra 4 is shit.

You waggle to do strong attack. And every 50 hits, you get to use a SUPER ATTACK which gets its own little scene and you beat guys up. That's really about it. You can also use the wiimote to aim the Batarang to hit multiple enemies, etc.

You DO just hit a button to attack. But you can waggle to do a strong attack. Or activate your super attack. I think you can waggle to throw enemies harder.

Yeah, all of Sakimoto's stuff outside of BoFV sounds similar.  He has less range than Sakuraba and that's saying something!

But who cares, because what he does compose sounds awesome.

BoFV ost is his best and most unique sounding.
