Sonic and Knuckles came out on the vc today. Its SO AWESOME :hyper
I missed out on it as a kid, but waiting so long to get to play it is like, i dunno, getting a real sonic the hedgehog sequel.  They even kept all the cart lock on stuff intact.  Knuckles kinda sucks though, his jump always feels just a tad bit short.  I end up drowning alot because of it.

Yeah but there was this one wall underwater that had a spring located on a ledge.  So when you climb up the wall knuckles gets nudged by the spring and falls back down.  So I drowned.  :'(

And I finally get super sonic the legit way.  Ha.  Well I got all the emeralds in sonic 1 once.  But that doesnt do anything.
Its funny, playing as super sonic is almost how new sonic games feel.  Damn crazy directional influence notwithstanding.

Flow PS3 is free on PSN until midnight tonight. I'm going to download it later.
Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

I actually want ~flOw~, but haven't made the time to go buy points. I read your post, immediately made a US PSN account, jumped through all their hoops, and logged in only to find it is US$9.99. Then I realized I'd not checked this thread in a few days.  :'(

Yea, that's why I bought it (for the kids! think of the kids). But it's frustrating to play a game when you know it could be something more and it's not.

I have a soft spot for them for a couple of reasons. I genuinely think they are funny or at least charming for the most part with their storytelling.

And I use to know a guy who had a developmentally challenged kid whom he could play the games with and they both got enjoyment out of them.

I seem to remember most people hating the Indy ones but I liked that one as it moved the action away from the action part of the game which I think is kind of poor to a more puzzle solving focus.
Yeah, the first Lego Star Wars game, the one based on the prequels, surprised a lot of people with being reasonably entertaining, combining two delicious licenses and somehow still not SUCKING. Tt seems to have accepted that as cart blanche to basically art-swap the game repeatedly, ad nauseum. Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy should have been pants-wettingly good, but it just was more of the same, with the 360 version being such a straight port of the PS2 version that the save/load flow barely changed their text messages.

I downloaded the demos for Lego: Indy and Lego: Batman and decided it was more of the same. It's a shame really; Tt's PS2/Gamecube Finding Nemo game was actually really good and had substantial replayability.

White Knight Chronicles gets really awesome with a mixture of Studio Ghibli and Evangelion. AND THEN IT ENDS.

If Level 5 learns from their mistakes, the sequel could be really awesome.

Well, ME2 is different. It's more like Gears of Mass Effect, huh? Combat system totally overhauled. QTE-hacking system replaced. Weapon upgrades, stats, all changed. Not at all like ME1.

Back on this, the combat similarities are ridiculous (but I love it). Seriously, did they hand the game off to Epic with a note asking for help? Even some of the in-combat dialog is similar (scratch one?). This is my Gears 3 without being Gears. The only thing it's missing is active reload.

Espgaluda II being region free has motivated me to play more Mushihime Futari again. Going to work on clearing as much of it as I can over the next couple weeks. I'm pretty sure Stage 3 was designed by the devil himself, however. I can only no-bomb + no-miss it like 5% of the time... the second half of that stage is such a big leap in difficulty it's ridiculous. If I weren't a chronic bomb hoarder I know I could have 1CC'd this long ago, so from now on I'm going to start bombing like I'm part of the Taliban.

Been playing some Deus ex, mostly because I wanted to also play the nameless mod which is equally good

http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-nameless-mod

anyway dues ex for such an old game holds up well, the gameplay is solid and the voice acting is unintentionally hilarious at times, like the main character JC  denton has the most dry delivery ever, and you can get in the most random ass conversations like having a 10+ minute philosophical debate with a bartender in hong kong out of the blue

hooked on nasty old Peggle XBLA again, got 10 challenges to go for 200/200, then I need to do the Peggle Nights challenges for 250/250

Fired up Mass Effect 1 again to try out a female shepard and mop up the last few cheevs. The VA for the female is decent but I have to say I prefer the dude for the lolz

plugging away at Vesperia, getting there (around 30 hours in), amazing game will defo go for the 1000

hopefully getting Bayonetta tomorrow

picking away at Parasite Eve on my lunch breaks, almost done with it

Chronovore, we gotta play some more Saints 2 next time were both on, that shit was so awesome on Sunday

Sceneman - does progress toward cheevs carry over in ME1? Say I use Lift 70 times my first play through, would I only have to use it 5 times in play through 2 to get the cheev?

yeah Im pretty sure they do. I know that the weapon based achievements stack over playthroughs so I'd assume the biotic/tech based skills ones do the same.

I played as a soldier for my first 3 playthroughs so Im missing all of those, playing through as an engineer now to get my last two ally cheevs, the engineer cheevs, and to prep a female renegade save for my ME2 Insanity playthrough. Then Im just gonna make a throwaway biotic and grind out those skill cheevs. Completion is a bitch sometimes  :'(

Just played some Resident Evil 5.  I think the last time I played the game was before last summer, so it's been a while.  Could only find one versus match and got tired of waiting for a fourth to pop up, so I did the Mercenaries, which it's been even longer since I played.  It was a BLAST, and it helped that the guy I played with was really good...we kept getting S and A ranks.  Got me totally pumped up for The Mercenaries Reunion now.   :D

Going through Magna Carta II before I start Mass Effect.  If JRPGs are wacky jappy, what would a Korean RPG be?  It's definitely a different beast than your typical JRPG...not necessarily in a good way.

Yeah, that's them. Which would be another good use of the Tt acronym.

I think they were a small studio which transitioned to last gen with aplomb, and then hit a gold mine with the Lego formula and have been grinding it until it's bare.

We are playing it very differently it seems.  I'm 9 hours and only midway through.  The game feels long as hell.  Doing every little sister adam run makes the areas take about 2 hours each.

Unfortunately I did all the Little Sister Adam runs too. There were only 2 per sister, correct? There was usually a body right there when you liberated the sister from her Daddy and another in only a couple rooms over. I would just hang back and freeze/drill to smash all the splicers. I didn't have a hard time until the last few when the Alpha series would start showing up. Even then a couple of turrets would make easy work of them.

I beat the game in only 2 sittings which royally sucked. Oh well I'm sure I'll want to replay it on down the line. The whole "Big Sister can attack you at any time" hype was BS....

"A little sister is coming, prepare yourself!"
"The little sister is closer."
"Seriously the little sister is almost here!"
"The little sister is at your door!"
"We're not kidding there's a Little Sister right behind you!"

It reminded of a text based action game.  :(

I dunno.  6 corpse defense missions + explore every area & get all the voice talkies + get through the main storyline takes me a while.  Patel was complaining about how the game felt slow because each area takes forever and I totally agree.  It takes me 1-2 gaming sessions to complete a single area.  I left Siren Alley at 8+ hours.

I guess some people can play it faster than others.  Even if there weren't corpse defense missions, just exploring the maps and making sure I get everything from every single room would probably take about 80-90 mins per location.  They're pretty big!

lol. I love the way how if you don't empty your queue completely and force 1 or 2 games on gamefly they will always just randomly pick from your list. In this case it was okay though because that's what I wanted this time. I put a whole bunch of games that I either haven't played or played a little and stopped playing. The dice roll came up on Fear 2, COD:WaW, and Sacred 2.

Playing Super Metroid again and attempting to up my already GODLY SKILLZ to new heights of godliness in preparation for a semi-srs segmented speed run. My goal is to match the previous record of 36 minutes for a segmented any% run. Not shit compared to that guy's 30 minute single segment run, but I'm not Asian like him so I think such a handicap is reasonable.

When I complete it I'll post the YouTubes as fap material for anyone that appreciates exhibitions of non-scrub vidya gaming

Completed the first segment tonight. I know that probably none of you are interested this shit, but I don't play much multiplayer stuff anymore so my epeen has been itching for a good flex lately.

This isn't to say that SF4 is a bad game in any way, I love it. I just...I can't really explain. Being cheap in SF4 tends to be really rewarding for people, where in SF3, cheapness is rewarded with a hot plate of ass-kicking.

In SF4, more of my matches are lost due to input failure from shortcuts than me actually screwing up.

I'd just say I blame it on me sucking ass, but when I lose enough times at SF4 I just get bored, like I can't do anything. In SF3 I can just keep coming back and I never feel like I'm getting cheated out of a match, it always feels fair.

I really can't explain it clearly.

With SF4 there will be plenty matches where I just feel bullshitted

It's you still being a novice and/or lag coming into play.  Maybe you are also playing the game with a "3rd Strike mind set."  A lot of hardcore SF3 players had trouble adjusting to SF4 when it first came out.

I bought and am downloading stalker pripyat now, so that.

I've also been playing Dead Space Extraction on the Wii and it's kinda boring.  It's way better than the first Resident Evil Wii game, but HotD Overkill was a lot more fun.  At least it looks fairly nice for the Wii until a human character comes on screen.
