Anyway, I'm on Feros now. Did the other two missions already, so Virmire is next.

ME1 Sniper is god tier in Pinnacle Station. It's still really good toward the end of the game too - specter sniper with +45% synthetic/organic damage kills anything quickly.

played Mushihimesama Futari on Maniac tonight.   :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

if you even just kind of like shmups, grab this immediately.  even with an average lifespan of 15 seconds like me on the later stages, it's fun.  you get noticeably better each time too.

So I bought 2 SNES systems on ebay last week...one regular, one mini.  I ordered the mini first, then ordered the regular one because I found out the mini doesn't do S-video.  The regular gets here and it's fine, clean, etc.  The mini got here yesterday and it's smelling up my apartment.  It smells like its been sitting in a damp basement for years.  Sealed it right back up in the box, sending it back   :yuck

I sent back Sacred 2 on Gamefly.  :'(

There was a lot I liked about it but it was just too janky to endure. I'll probably end up playing it 3 or 4 years down the road on the PC cheap.

I love owning a SNES. I feel one should always be available in your place. Much like an N64.

A genesis, you just dont get that feeling. I could buy one, and be stumped on what exactly is worth getting on it. Maybe like, one or two games really. SNES though, it has it all.

[ME 1 talk] I will admit to whoring the shotgun on Pinnacle Station because of the time challenges. I switched back to the pistol afterwards.

had an interesting weekend of gaming, went round to a bros place and played some PS3  :o THE RUNDOWN:

Little Big Planet - seems pretty sweet but was desperate to check out some user made levels, there were like 8 updates to download so we couldnt be fucked. Good game and definitely keen to put some more time into it.

MGS4 - yeah, fucking awesome. Love all that potty humor

Flower - pretty good "blowjob" game. Not really my thang but could be pretty cool if youre baked or something

and elsewhere on a real console:

Peggle - still hooked on this POS monster. 14 out of 15 achievements, need to clear all Nights challenges for 250/250. I'll probably do it

Saints Row 2 - wtf is wrong with me? I put down the 2 awesome games I was playing (Bayonetta and Tales of Vesperia) because I got hooked on grinding out multiplayer badges  :-\ Strong Arm is actually super fun, so Im actually enjoying climbing up the ranks and unlocking sweet gear (cant wait for the sombrero lmao)

Mass Effect 1 - grinding cheevs

hung out with another bro and played some Wii Wii today:

Smash Bros Brawl - played some co-op challenges, Smash Bros is always fun.

Mean Bean Machine - furious vs. action

Columns III - ditto

In Red Faction Guerrila if you don't see any main story missions on your map does that mean
A) you need to do "x" number of guerrila actions in that zone to unlock it?
or
B) you need to explore because it's under the fog of war somewhere?

I'm guessing it's A. I'm in Oasis and did the first story mission and there's no more :X  Already have morale at 100 so wasn't planning on doing more guerrilla actions in this sector, but guess I will if that's the case.

Trying Etrian Odyssey 2 again.  Such a hard, yet somewhat satisfying, game.

The AI in FFTA2: GotR is braindead. There is NO AI there.

Let's see:

- instead of attacking my Black Mage/ White Mage it casts "Blind" on my party member that is ALREADY under "Sleep" status
- instead of attacking my BM/ WM it casts "Berserk" on one of its kin which has 10 HP left and is surrounded by my tanks
- instead of attacking my BM/ WM knowing it can kill them in two turns it uses... "Rend Power" (ATTACK down) on my... Black Mage! Standing BEHIND HIM! Ridiculous :lol
- instead of attacking anyone it casts "Rend Magick" on my Soldier who knows 0 spells/ techniques

So very, very bad.

Yea it is terrible.  The battles are unbearably slow, too.  Go give Devil Survivor a shot if you want some handheld SRPG goodness.

get a dark hunter,a gunner and a hexer then you can join the team of "what the fuck,i picked the wrong jobs!" too! :smug

spoiler (click to show/hide)
gunner are one of the best damage dealer, dark hunter gags skill can disable tons of nasty stuff, they also get some nice attack and are one of the first classes to get their ultimate weapon,if you know how to do it,hexer can inflict poison early on which is deadly on the first boss, later on they get a skills which ignore defense and deal damage based on their HP percentage, this deals HUUUUUUUUGE amount of damage,i've seen the ultra secret final boss destroyed with 3 hexers

I turned in Bayonetta yesterday 'cause it really wasn't my cup of tea.  Just way too fucking bizarre.  I know there's a shit ton of move to pull off but half the time while I was playing it I wasn't sure what the hell was going on.  I just kept mashing buttons randomly and a bunch of crap happened.

I intended to get the God of War collection but it wasn't available so I grabbed the only other thing out there that even slightly interested me (and I use the word slightly in the lowest form of the definition), White Knight Chronicles.  Good fucking god this game sucks.  What happened to Level 5?!?  Ever since Dragon Quest VIII they've gone in the toilet.  I guess their first Professor Layton game wasn't completely horrible but it wasn't very fun either. WKC is shit.

So other than that, I downloaded the new Boarderlands DLC even though I haven't even touched the other DLC I downloaded for that game yet.  I don't know what the fuck I'm thinking.  I guess I'm assuming I'll eventually go back to it but everytime I load up Boarderlands I get bored almost immediately anymore.

Is it true that CoP feels much more like an RPG than the previous games?

CoP is a lot more open in pretty much every way.  I just got to the third area but the first two are essentially giant circle area instead of open paths from the SoC; makes exploration more rewarding.  In general it makes you feel a lot more neutral with other characters.  In the close to 20 hours I've played, I haven't been in many shoot outs because I'm not siding with bandits, stalkers, duty or freedom.  In other situations, you can avoid battle by handling things diplomatically, but sometimes the game reminds you that survival is your main concern and trying to be good will screw you over.  There isn't a bioware-like morality system with a gauge that changes, so the choices you make only affect things you'd see in gameplay.  Like, you can be commissioned to find an artifact for some scientist and once you've found it, you can keep it, give it to the scientist, sell it to an information dealer, sell it to a artifact buyer, etc.

In short, the reason I think CoP is the best stalker is because exploration is more satisfying, it feels more like you're some guy wandering around that area, and the interface is much improved now.  It's also the most stable and optimized of the three games.

In Red Faction Guerrila if you don't see any main story missions on your map does that mean
A) you need to do "x" number of guerrila actions in that zone to unlock it?
or
B) you need to explore because it's under the fog of war somewhere?

you have to do the actions to fill up that meter to unlock missions

I jumped in and played a bit yesterday.  Seems like they fixed the speed glitch and now it runs normal.  I remembered that it took a while before I started to really enjoy it because of one piece of equipment you get.  Don't know if it's a spoiler, but it once you get it, the game because so much better.

I enjoyed it a lot more once the walkers showed up and you got the rocket launcher.

At the start it was less satisfying.  Now it's really satisfying although it's starting to get repetitive.  I'm guessing you're talking about the jetpack.  I want that.  Either that or a plane.  When do I get to steal a plane and fly around Mars!?!  ;_;  The vehicles in this game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GTA.

Genesis was the shit for a brief minute when MK1 came out and it had blood.  but after a week of that, we figured out the SNES port had better gameplay (though neither version was close to arcade perfect.)  Then MK2 SNES came out (along with every other awesome snes game) and made the Genesis in my house completely irrelevant.

but man, Yoshi's island = best 16bit graphics ever

In Mass Effect, is there any reason to only use two specific partners throughout the whole game besides achievements? I don't really care about those in this game.

Yoshi's Island
Mario & Luigi RPG 3
Zelda Spirit Tracks

Wtf is up with Nintendo's quality on 1st party DS games?  It used to be that if it was a Nintendo 1st party game it'd probably be a good game.  SNES, GBA, N64, GC, Wii.  DS 1st party is just a huge fuckup.

I have been playing Mass Effect.  Totally not used to shooter combat at all.

Also, the game is glitchy as fuck.  I took an assignment to 'scan' the keepers in the Citadel.  I scanned all 21, yet the game keeps telling me I've only scanned 20.  So I go back to each location, COUNT, and indeed, I have scanned every single one yet the game is glitching up and telling me I'm still missing one.

Also, when I first used the Normandy to travel to another planet, Shepard got stuck in front of the galaxy map and wouldn't move.  Had to reload a previous save, luckily the game saves automatically as soon as you use the galaxy map.

BTW, I have no fucking money to buy upgrades, weapons and armor - do I have to explore uncharted planets to get money so I can buy shit?

what i downloaded was called stalker complete.  i dunno of what it's made up.

CoP does seem kind of more RPGy but if you don't like stalker, it's not a magical overhaul to cause you to like it.  it is, however, the only stalker game i was compelled to play straight through to completion.

I got stuck in front of the galaxy map too. I tried talking to the guy who watches the ship when you're gone and I appeared in front of him. Crisis averted. :lol

I had one bad glitch moment last night though. It doesn't spoil anything, but you still might not wanna read this if you're sensitive about spoilers, Ichi:

The fight right before you finally see Saren in person again? I killed off everyone and nothing happened. I thought I missed something so I ended up running around for 20 mins. Finally said fuck it, loaded my last save, finished the fight again, and the cutscene loaded right away. smh

You don't get much money until later on in the game and then you get way more than you need. I only really buy licenses and upgrades that let me carry more medi-gel and grenades. You get by just fine in this game with the stuff that you find.

Didn't know that. I've done a couple of them anyway since the game is much shorter than the jrpgs I'm used to playing. I found Wrex's armor yesterday and I think I ran into the doctor/scientist that Garrus mentioned, but I didn't have him in my squad.

Sonic Racing really is that damn good.  No homo.  :o  The drifting mechanics are awesome...a little easier to keep going than Outrun, but you also have to deal with obstacles and items coming your way.  I love that it gives you multiple levels of boost power depending on how long you drift for, and that you can boost through obstacles.  Plus you can get boost power from "tricks" during jumps.  Awesome game, totally trounces Mario Kart.

They also give you points to use towards unlocking stuff for every mode you play, including online races, so it's real easy to unlock all the characters, courses, and music quickly.

Yeah, I started the game over a year ago and stopped playing after I became a Spectre. Playtime was 2-3 hours I think. I finally started playing it again this past Friday and my playtime is like 21 hours. I'm hooked. :lol

Kinda disappointed to find out singularity bombs in RFG can't be purchased, so basically even though they are totally cool to watch as a mini vortex appears and sucks a building within itself, you get to see them once or twice in the game.  Also Jetpack is kinda lame.  I got it and the extra fuel and it still runs out ridiculously fast.  Can maybe fly up 2 stories before it's out.  A 3 story building can't be scaled.  Lamee.  And not enough Walkers either and where are my airplanes to fly >_<

It's like they made all these awesome destructive weapons for a game about destruction and then they realized "oh shit, these are too powerful and destroy too much!" and so you only get them in very specific instances and not just whenever you want to screw around and destroy shit.

This game needs a "keys to the city" mode where you can just spawn whatever whenever.

I also saw there's a DLC pack with a new zone?  Is it worth picking up?  I'm doing missions in EOS now so I'll probably finish the game in a day or two.

That stopped it from being up there in my GOTY last year, there was so much cool shit you only briefly got to experience.

Can't wait for Sega Racing, shame there's no online :(

I also saw there's a DLC pack with a new zone?  Is it worth picking up?  I'm doing missions in EOS now so I'll probably finish the game in a day or two.

If you're talking about Demons Of The Badlands, you probably already have it.

I got RFG during the steam sale.  So you're saying it comes with it?  The achievements aren't listed in the achievement page of statistics.

No achievements for it on PC.  It's under bonus content or something.

You seem to be much farther along than me.  I just started it a couple of days ago and so far...

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I did Eden Prime, went to the Citadel, and then went to Feros (sp?), and disposed of the Thorian.  Not sure where I should go next...find the asari scientist chick, or go to Noveria or maybe do some of those assignments I've got piling up.

Yeah, I started the game over a year ago and stopped playing after I became a Spectre. Playtime was 2-3 hours I think. I finally started playing it again this past Friday and my playtime is like 21 hours. I'm hooked. :lol

You should definitely get the asari before going to Noveria.

Thanks for the advice, now I know what I'm gonna do next. :D

Oh, ok.  Well if it's free then I'll give it a play when I'm done.

Damn it is just so much fun drift-boosting past Sonic and his shitty friends while Akira and Jacky do push-ups on top of the car.

It's like they made all these awesome destructive weapons for a game about destruction and then they realized "oh shit, these are too powerful and destroy too much!" and so you only get them in very specific instances and not just whenever you want to screw around and destroy shit.

That stopped it from being up there in my GOTY last year, there was so much cool shit you only briefly got to experience.

Can't wait for Sega Racing, shame there's no online :(

So there really is no online on PC?  WTF Sega?   :lol  Get it on a console.

Also went and re-purchased RFG on 360.  $17.99 new from Amazon...Bebpo's got me wanting to play it again.

I spammed a lot of biotics during my ME1 playthrough, and saw a lot of weird bugs where I would use Lift and Warp, and fling enemies through walls and background objects, making them impossible to kill, and messing up missions where you needed to kill all enemies to proceed.

Played ME2 all day yesterday and today, did this:

recruited the baby Krogan, Jack, and Tali... stopped the Collector invasion on Horizon, did Miranda's loyalty mission, and did a few N7 subquests

Progress is going pretty smoothly in the game, one 'cheev I'm not sure about getting though... the one where you have to use multiple biotics to take down an enemy. I can't seem to get it to trigger for some reason. Also, Brawler is pretty frustrating to get but I'm halfway there.

I get a headache everytime I play MW2, never happened before with any other game.  Gonna take some asprin and continue playing.
I'm liking a few of the missions, the
spoiler (click to show/hide)
white house mission was neat and I just got to the part where the emp bomb goes off and all the helicopters are falling out of the sky and that was rather cool.  I don't get why a satellite way up high would be affected by it though, is that realistic or did they completely make that up for theatrics?

I don't really understand the story at this point, but I figure I will read a plot faq when I'm done, lol ^^;

Yeah you just described the Mario kart wii mechanics verbatim.  So it probably sucks like mario kart anyway.

I liked Mario Kart Wii.

i tried the Sonic demo again after reading that post and still didn't see the appeal. I'm not too familiar with Outrun though so maybe I'm playing it wrong.

Well, to be honest, the mario kart mechanics aren't bad.  But lyte edge described EXACTLY how the drifting and trick system in mario kart wii works.  I'm just tired of mariokart at this point.
