Actually, it doesn't show you how to get the lightseeds, figuring out how to collect those is the heart of the game, IMO.

First time through should take you about 45 minutes to an hour for each.  Longer if you are trying to kill everything...which you shouldn't be.

There's honestly nothing to pick up in either DLC. Desperate Escape is basically Mercenaries. You -cant- stop to pick stuff up

I probably spent about an hour on Desperate Escape and then got tired of it.  It's probably just not suited for someone like me who tends to play it like a survival horror game, conserving ammo and playing quite slow.

I guess I have to do more running and less looking around.

On the one hand, the change of focus to an objective based game has made me clock in about 70 hours in Endless Ocean 2.  On the other, I miss the minimalism of the first game that gave you what you put into it.  Its still one of the better exploration games I've played to be sure.  If the puzzles weren't spelled out for you I would like to say its one of the better zelda games!  Unfortuneatly I have to do some tedious doliphin performance sidequest to fill out the last of my maps.

I find that I have to play it at least a few times per week or I start fucking up.  It's been tough in G1.  Almost at 16,000...less than 70 GP to go.  Also got my ass KICKED HARD today doing various player matches.

I accidentally finished GTA: Chinatown Wars (DS) a couple days ago.

It's qualifying as "accidentally" because I'm usually pretty careful not to finish a story-based game without first mopping up all the side quests. I find it very hard to continue doing side quests after finishing the main arc. It was clear that the game was wrapping up, but I'd not thought it would be The Final Mission. It has a much more reasonable last mission than GTA IV's, so much like everything else in Chinatown Wars, it surpassed its predecessor.

:bow ROCKSTAR LEEDS :bow2

I've decided to go back to Vice City Stories on the PSP and was surprised how ugly it is overall in comparison, how simple the graphics are, and how absolutely crap the framerate is. Wow. I wish Sony would let devs use the available power of the chip like the jailbroken PSPs can. I played GTA on Sho Nuff'sPSP and it was creamy smooth.

I FINALLY got 100 wins on tag team survival in Dead or Alive 4. Now I am completely done with the single player achievements in that game (besides the one for playing for 100 hours) and DAMN is it satisfying. Just gotta boost to S and SS rank in online and I will 1000 that bitch. I even made it to 99 wins earlier today and got ass raped by Eliot in the very final battle. I'm pretty sure everyone in my neighborhood heard me swearing after that one...

Also 1000'd Final Fantasy XIII this morning. Great game.

Think I will finally begin playing Yakuza 3 and SMT Strange Journey now.

You gonna try Just Cause 2?  I'm curious to how you think it compares with Far Cry 2 since you were a big fan of FC2 as well.

They have many similarities in setting and gameplay so I'm hoping to get the same vibe from JC2 that I got from Far Cry 2.

To put it simply, it's a sidescroller where you saw apart warships that are flying to destroy a town. The story is pretty simple so far, but the gameplay, while simple at first, can get pretty deep, especially if you want to get five stars on each of the stages. Apparently it's only $10 on PSN, which I would pay in a heartbeat. Awesome value, and it works very well for a portable, because none of the stages I've seen so far take longer than five minutes.

I'm almost finished playing Ratchet Crack in Time and this has been one of the best action platformers I've ever played.  I haven't disliked a single moment of the game other than the first maybe 30 mins that seemed kinda meh at first.  The combat is soooo fun, every weapon is useful in some way and leveling them all to newer versions is really addicting and encourages you to constantly mix up your attacks and use all the weapons in the right situations.  The zoni hunts give just the right amount of hidden side exploration and the rewards are fun.  The puzzles won't stump you, but they're just challenging enough to be really fun.  Same goes for the easy but satisfying platforming.  Heck the whole game is pretty easy, but I find that just makes it a really relaxing nice game to play.  There's very little repetition, there's plenty to do in your own order, the writing is not bad at all for a kids cartoon.  Ratchet, Clank and Quark are great characters.  Same with the general guy.  It helps the game has some of the best voice acting in games.  Really feels like a disney movie or something in that respect.

Will probably 100% this as finding all the hidden bolts/zoni/upgrades/rhino parts/maxing weapons is fun and I have most of them already.  I'm 100% sure at this point that CiT is my favorite Insomniac game by a long mile.  I hope they don't drop the series because it sells like shit.  CiT is 100x better than Resistance and I liked Resistance 1!  It's funny because Quest for Booty was terrible!  Insomniac does good when they actually really try.

Played two hours and beat the first few levels in Hokuto Musou, defeating Shin (and unlocking the side story mode which lets you play as other characters; got Shin and Mamiya playable so far).  I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, which is to be expected as both a HnK and Musou fan.  The combos come out pretty stiffly, but you get used to it.  Rei is AWESOME and quite a bit faster than Ken; Mamiya uses a crossbow and other weapons, and while she lacks the power and speed of Kenshiro and Rei, she makes up for it with range.  Her throw is hilarious, too-- walk up to someone, bitch slap a bunch of times, then jump up on their face and slam them down.  :lol

I'll post more in-depth later, but just want to say that while this is indeed a Musou game, the feel is pretty different.  The stages are linear, but you can backtrack and need to if you want to get all of the mission points.  There's seven of these in every level (and an eighth if you get all seven, apparently) that you have to meet certain conditions to get.  Apparently backtracking on the first level will lead to previously inaccessable areas; I didn't try this.   Getting all the mission points also makes the boss fights harder.  You don't have to get any of these mission points to keep going though, so the game lets you play it at your pace.

I think a good way to describe the game is as a Musou with a more traditional beat-em-up style of progression.  No open battlefields; you move forward and clear out a wave or two of enemies, and then go forward again.  I thought the game was actually going to be an open-world style environment from some previews I saw, but this is not the case.

Should you get the game if you like HnK and Musou?  HELL YES, BUY IT IMMEDIATELY.  If you like Musou?  HELL YES to that too.  If you like HnK but not Musou?  Wait for a domestic release and rent it first.  The game will likely not win you over if you don't like these kinds of games, plus the combos come out even stiffer compared to the Omega Force games.

So this is an embarrassing yet really funny video of me playing L4D2 with some people at gaf.

We were playing map Hard Rain, on advanced realism. I got to a part which required a crouch + jump, and honestly, I hadn't encountered anything like that in the game before. So I was stuck. I tried my damndest to get on the sporking bar, and it got to the point where that was all I could concentrate on,"HOW THE FUCK DO I GET ON THIS BAR?". It got the point where a horde came and I was still,"HOW DO I GET ON THIS BAR?!?!?!" and ignored the horde ENTIRELY resulting in my friend getting killed.

Hilarity ensues.

Suffice to say, I've since learned how to crouch + jump
