my copy of Hannah Montana for 360 just arrived :punch

gonna get some beers in tonight and rinse it for 1000G
Send it my way when you're done. Demi's got that in his gamerscore but not Avatard, so there must be something to it.

haha, seriously?  :lol

All good man. Its a Euro version so not sure if its region free or not, but youre welcome to try it out.

PM me your postal address.

In all seriousness though, I kinda enjoy Miley Cyrus music so im sure I'll enjoy the game. Sounds like you get buy clothes and play carnival mini-games and stuff so Im sure its gonna be a good time. I gave the Barbie game for genesis a good thrashing back in the day.

Avatar is just a joke though, Im keeping that shit away from my gamercard. At least with Hannah Montana I will have played a game to completion

Also, this will be the game that gets me past 50k gamerscore :punch

I'm not serious, but that's really nice of you.  :-* I will be stateside next month; if I really need a matching gamercard to go with yours, I can prolly grab it for 10 bucks then.

Along with a new 360 from the looks of it.

There is a reason for it, yes, but it wasn't because of easy score.

Loaned my 360 to my friend so his little brother could boost for titles or something in MW2 and SC2 is down, so I have nothing to play right now. I popped on Super Metroid last night thinking I'd try to improve my any% time but I realized I'll probably never achieve that and now my pride is hurt. At least I can take solace in the fact that I'm pretty amazing for being white.

Oh I played some Halo 1 yesterday, actually. Smoked a couple bowls and did some three-way FFAs. I raped it up repeatedly and won every single game of course, but me being a beast is no news. What really struck me was just how much more dynamic and fast-paced the multiplayer was back then. I've always remembered it as shitting all over the sequels, but sometimes I forget how big the gap is. I haven't played Reach yet, so I can't speak on that, but I swear to God that I would play Halo 1 on XBL over almost anything else if they ever released an online version

What I am playing: Dick all. Nada. Nuffink.

My 360 broke, I'll get another US xbox next month, but right now I keep thinking "Oh, since I can't finish up Redemption as planned, I can finally try Banjo Kazooie N&B -- oh, wait. No, that's on 360. Oh, right, I can wrap up some of those XBLA games I never finished... Oh."

This train of thought happens several times an hour. :-\

I'm going to jump into my Seekrit Santa copy of Little Big Planet (:bow Borys :bow2) and Batman: AA shortly. And I'll try the Heavy Rain demo which has been downloaded since day one and never sampled.

Can anyone confirm/deny that the Japanese version of inFamous will run in English if the system language settings are for English?

The Saboteur

It's ok.  Climbing buildings is boring and I usually like this stuff in Assassin's Creed, Crackdown, Infamous, etc.  I can say the same about some other mechanics like stealth or shooting.  None of it feels quite right but it kinda balances itself out.  I like that the story seems to be zany WW2 stuff with zeppelins and extremely dastardly Nazis, but at the same time the characters annoy me.  At least the brawling is really fun, and in a game where you're an Irishman in France, it is entertaining enough to be tossing people into walls.

Just been switching between Last Ranker and SRW K.

Last Ranker is short and portablized in a good way.  Every quest takes like 3-5 mins, finding the next ranker to fight takes like 2-3 mins and the ranker fights are only about 1-3 mins each.  Plus I've started saving more time by running from any random battle that would take me more than 10 seconds to finish.  It's a very tight/cramped efficient super linear rpg.  Kind of the exact opposite of Xenoblade which is a huge open rpg meant for explore.  I'm 10 hours in and I think I'll hit the halfway point tomorrow.

Since After Burner Climax is only $5 on PSN atm, I bought it the other day. I like it but I really suck at it, you'd have to be really good to hit all of the enemies/targets. Nice music as well.

I take all the PS3 stuff back. I borrowed my nephew's 360 and transferred all my accessories. Lovely. Played a mess of Red Dead Redemption, went from Level 6 Hunter to clearing the Level 10 challenge tonight. I AM SICK OF BEARS. There are spots that disgorge animals irrespective of logic. I found a spot outside Manzanita where someone was clearly firing bear cannon or bear mortars at my vicinity. It was nuts.

My nephew's 360 is COMPLETELY QUIET compared to my 2006 model. The drive is substantially more quiet, but whatever jet-engine fans were in my 2006 model are replaced by tiny cooling sprites or something. My old machine made more fan noise than the room fan and air conditioner combined. This new one is almost inaudible when running off HDD. :rock

I don't have one of the new fancy 360s but I did just buy a brand new Arcade unit recently and I couldn't imagine the new Slim being any quieter than this one.  You really can't hear shit when playing a game off the HDD.  Seriously, it's quieter than my current PS3.  My PS3 will be quiet for a good 5 or 10 minutes before the fan will kick in and then it's easily the louder of the two systems.

Obviously that wasn't the case of my older 360s.  They all sounded like 20 Dreamcasts strapped onto a Harley.

it's ok.  playing old adventure games without cheating is only recommend for someone who's bored/crazy/stupid

i played through full throttle the other day and all i could think about about was that classic old man murray article.  every fucking screen had something stupid in it - either an item that was way to hidden in the background, and puzzle with a solution that made no sense (with no clues as to what to do of course), and plenty of tedious aimless wandering as you combed over screens repeatedly to check for that one fucking detail you missed.  good fucking riddance, adventure genre
spoiler (click to show/hide)
and yet i'm playing through the entire king's quest series right now.  now THERE'S some games that REQUIRE you to cheat

You guys are playing the wrong adventure games. When you have to put the square peg in the circle slot to solve a puzzle, that's the sign of a poopy game.

Pick up Shivers & Scratches (two separate games) and enjoy real immersion

I'll try them out but honestly I've never really played adventure games for the puzzles. I think pure text games were often better in that regard. (although some of those can be quite stupid also). I play them for the atmosphere and humor. Although if a game can combine that with good puzzles then that's a big plus.

avoid singularity. not a single fun enemy to fight. it's like raven went through as many games as they could and pulled all the annoying ass enemies and plopped them into one game. they stole the tickers from GoW2 which where really fuckin annoying there and they're more so here because now they are smaller and there are more of them.

so don't bother with this game. it's not fun.

1000'ed Hannah Montana. I feel disgusting, that will be the first, and last, crap game I play for achievements. Im glad I learned my lesson.

Well, to be fair, it was by no means the worst game Ive ever played. The fairground bottle toss game was actually really challenging and a rewarding cheev. A couple of Hannah's songs were catchy and decent.

Also playing Street Fighter IV. LOVE IT. If anyone wants to boost the 10 ranked wins in a row?  :-* Becuase I know Im never gonna get that legit. My win ratio is currently like 1:5 which is OK by me because I am such a noob.

the post game of DQ9 is uber-distinguished mentally-challenged,i'm not sure why i'm still even playing this thing

ok let's go trough the steps, basicaly in dragon quest 9 there are uber secret bosses, there are 12 of them, one of these boss is unlocked trough a special quest, but wait! this special quest isn't avaiable normaly, you have to wait for them to release it,in fact it was released two week ago IN THE JAPANESE VERSION

if that wasn't distinguished mentally-challenged enough this quest require you an item, this item is randomly found in random dungeon! but wait! apparently this whole ordeal wasn't stupid enough! since the dungeon are randomly generated that means that not only you have to be lucky enough to have the item spawned inside the dungeon but you have to be lucky enough to have the dungeon itself spawned which you do by finishing more random dungeon! that's right! you are forced to finish the same random dungeon over and over and over until you finaly get another better random dungeon

it's like playing disgaea only they put baal in a time capsule and then they threw that time capsule inside the lame version of the item world that yields no reward 99% of the times as a random reward!

oh and i forgot the best part! the random dungeon quality is dictated by element the game doesn't tell you meaning you might as well hunt for the dungeon yielding the item required to unlock this boss forever without ever unlocking one because you don't fit the requirement

if i had a bullshit-o-meter it would explode!

yea the actual game is pretty good

one thing that kinda makes me laugh is that apparently in japan everyone share this random map which yield only the enemy that give you the highest amount of experience as possible,if they wanted you to grind why make this map randomly avaiable instead of a default zone in the same way disgaea gives you a map for all your power levelling nee and if they didn't want you to grind why even make this map possible? ???

Rudras Treasure SFC - it's not bad, just a few of the chapters require a LOT of grinding due to some annoying overpowered boss fights. The multiple scenarios, and seeing how your actions in one affect the other, is really cool, reminiscent of Suikoden 3. It's just that the regular enemies are usually total pussies, then you get to a boss who kicks your ass in 2 attacks.

No, duder! I played it right after I got it. I went through it, loved the graphics, and commented on smoooooth Stephen Fry is when reading the tutorial stuff. I just set it aside for a bit and then found it hard to willingly turn on my Bluray since most of my friends are on 360 and I'm usually curious to see who's on there. I wonder what will happen if I get into Steam, since there are so many Boritos on that.

After avoiding FF since the obnoxious and repulsive characters of FFX, I played a couple of hours of FF13 at a friend's place on the weekend and I found it... ENJOYABLE.

I suppose soon I'll be buying Japanese schoolgirls' used underwear over the internet and collecting statues of underage FF13 characters dressed in their hooker outfits. :-\

It's bearable to play, yeah. Best Tri-Ace game in a long... long while. 1000? Depends if you're in it for the long haul

It will go like this

Normal -> About 30 hours at most, just play through the story

Hard -> Cleanup, Compulsive will require lots of farming, expect 80 hours minimum

Infinity -> Pick your team, use only them, create the strongest armor/weaps from the start, and go directly through the story. Minimal farming required to make HP increase books for the Queen, otherwise easily done, since it's the final achievement

yeah I got about 20 hours through Normal and got up to an annoying spider boss that was miles away from a save point and gave up. I should pick it up again at some point, I did like the story and characters, even if the gameplay was a bit boring. the Dinner Dance will live forever, for everlasting time
