ok made a poor goblin explode over and over and over and got the 1000 throw achievement, was almost boring as the arena, then i went and finished neverland... it was a lot more easy than i would have tought

i'm missing only 4 achievement, the 2 you get for finishing the game once, the new game+ one and the new game+ complete and then i'm done

I'm really getting tired of Fist of the North Star. The game starts out well enough with Kenshiro's story... it's a little too long, but I had fun with it. But after I started playing the other characters, I realized Koei just recycled the same stages, bosses, and even the cutscenes, with some minor differences. What a grind this is going to be. :-\

I gotta say, I mostly agree with Gametrailers' review of FotNS. I think they're a little too harsh toward it, but I know where they're coming from with most of their complaints.

Gonna start Dante's Inferno in a minute, since I just got that from Gamefly. God of War clones :rock

I played through the majority of the game with Kenshiro and Mamiya, and that was enough for me. 30+ hours with those two (and a bit of Rei and Toki) was enough.  I don't see any reason to use all the characters in these musou games anyway.  Just pick the ones you like and build 'em up.  Done.  The challenge levels are pretty fun though...don't know if you have to buy those in the American version too.

Hardest room in the game.  Just keep trying until you beat it, the next boss fight is fuck awesomeeeeeeeee.

I mainly hated that fight because all the grunt soldiers are flying in the air so NO COVER IS SAFE and you're always getting shot the fuck up and you can't concentrate on mr. old guy.  Once you move around enough and take out all the grunts, the fight is cake.  Grunts are the killers in that fight.

GM3 is interesting in this regard as it's the first musou game I've played that forces you to rotate around and use a good chunk of the cast.  I actually really liked that because yeah, otherwise in a musou game I'd just use a handful a characters and build them up.  But in GM3 out of the 40 or so full fledged characters, I've probably used at least 30-35 of them a handful of times each at this point.

Gundam Musou 3 really is the best musou game I've played by far out of the ones I've played (DW5, SW1, GM1-3, Hokuto demo).  I'm thinking about maybe picking up DW7 because if GM3 is an indication of how good Koei is at big musou games these days, DW7 should be awesome.

Too late, I picked up the Zombrex edition a week ago. Either way, it'll be nice if I can hit 50 that way, and cheevos.

That fight is one of the major chokepoints on God Hard too. The same strategy should work on Normal/Hard though. Throw an EMP grenade into the middle of the room once all of the soldiers are grouped together, then throw a regular grenade or two to wipe them all out. Then all you have left is Burns, who is a tough bastard himself.

The final boss will probably be harder though.

i finished resonance of fate,it was good but it had it's share of problem... first, the plot, nothing really stupid happens and in fact the first half of the game is even funny to watch but it's like they forgot half of the cutscenes! there are so many plot-thread hanging around into nothingness that it feels more stupid than metal gear solid 2! yes! fucking metal gear solid 2! was this game made by the radiata stories director? because i swear,it follows the same road... it starts funny, then it get melodramatic, then it ends in fuckery!

second, the first chapter's are great but then as you keep playing, the game just seems to drag and reduce the amount of new stuff that it throwns at you, several chapter near the end don't contain any dungeon at all,one of them has you just giving gift to little kids which seems like a huge waste of time, some side quest are guilty of this too, some make you repeat a dungeon twice and some throw you into the same fight at least 4 times which is puzzling

the game difficulty is also really weird, when you are in the first chapters,it's really great you hide behind stuff, you use hero action to cover lot of terrain, you try to take advantage of elemental weakness, then somewhere along the road your machine gun guy become so powerfull that every fight ends up in "hero action, charge as much as possible, jump, repeat with a handgun, win" tough i guess this is a win in a tri-ace game considering in star ocean 2 you can get the third most powerfull sword in the game, before the first quarter of the game

of the good bits... the monster design is really cool, there are tanks! giants covered in metal plate's who uses giant drill as weapons! gangster in suits! dogs in gangster hats! one of the boss is a gargantuan monster who uses a whole truck as an armor and the secret dungeon has a clown head with a top hat and a monocle as an enemy... sadly there are a lot of re-colors but you can see them occasionaly fucking around with each recycled model

the battle system is also quite original albeit maybe a little similiar to the one found in valkyrie profile 2,the customization is great, when you upgrade your stuff you can really see the improvement but one thing where they fumbled is that it's pretty much impossible to go over the weight limit making the whole point of leveling up to be able to put more stuff in your gun kinda pointless,it also would have been better if it didn't take forever to get your first new weapon out of the 3 they give you at the beginning, game also sports some pretty rocking tunes

tl;dr it was good but it got worse as i got near the end... i still would recomend it

next game would be viva pinata (or maybe mass effect since a friend of mine said he would be willing to lend it to me) but the next jrpg i'll pick will be nier since three people here on bore went on the trouble of suggesting it

but anyway what's bore opinion on infinite undiscovery? all i know about it is "HURR DURR DINNERP DANCE"

IU is the second worst JRPG this generation. (the worst would be Eternal Sonata)

Paying $60 for that turd is the worst gaming-related mistake I made since buying Super Man 64 on the day it came out.

It's been years since I played it, but basically everything aside from the combat is awful. distinguished mentally-challenged story, distinguished mentally-challenged characters, shit graphics, piss-poor production values (half of the cutscenes aren't even voiced LOL), atrocious voice acting, and for some reason, it's a two disc game even though it takes like 15 hours to beat. The combat isn't bad, but it's not good either. And at that point, you might as well play Star Ocean 4 instead, since the combat in that game is a lot better (everything else about is as bad as IU though).

Vesplume Tower (I think that's what it's called anyway) is the only decent part of the game.

Just played the Gal Gun demo. It's kinda long and tedious so I quit before the end. The cel-shading on the characters in that game is probably the best I've ever seen. Too bad the environments look like they came from a PS1 game (I'm not exaggerating). The load times are pretty long & frequent as well, and the game isn't challenging at all. So to summarize, Inti Creates found a way to make a game about shooting girls in the ass with your cupid bow boring.

is there any difference between feeding the pinata the "love candy" or fulfilling their romance requirement cause filling the romance requirement multiple time for the master romancer award is a pain in the ass.....

EDIT: i seems to understand that the first time it has to bee trough requirement but after that i can use the candies as much as i want... that would have been helpfull to know before i feeded all the poor little worm's to the sparrows... anyway it's a little slow but it really reminds me of game like theme park, kinda unique for being a console game

PC GAMING!!!

Bad Company 2 SIngle Player - SHIT IS SO HARD!!!! I die like 30 times al evel and i'm on Normal  :'(
Bad company 2 Vietnam - Pretty great. I actually do decently on a computer compared to a xbox
Dragon Age: Origins - Played it when it came out on my old PC, got like 7 hours in, doing a new run in about 8 hours in but it's so ...I guess boring? The conversations aren't really grabbing me and they go on FOREVER.
Crysis - Bad game, good graphics. I keep running out of ammo even on Easy and have to spend like 10 minutes killing 2 enemies.

To Come:
Alpha Protocol - Just like with DA:O I originally played it on my old pc for like 9 hours, and got hit with a bug that made it so I can't play. But now that I got a new PC i'm excited to jump in and try it again.
Metro 2033 - Looks scary and i'm a baby
Gay Tony - Played alot of it last year but never beat it, gunna load it up on this new pc I think.

Besides Gay Tony what's a console port?

Dragon Age is fucking terrible looking though, which makes me wonder if it's just not installed correctly or something because the graphics outside the main characters are bad.

My only gripe with PC gaming is when the fuck are they gunna start doing 1080p video for the games. it's annoying that you're playing a game at 1080p rez then it goes to a pre-rendered scene thats like 480p. Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age both do this alot :(

i'm not really sure what to think about viva pinata,it's cute,it's original but the whole game feels like being a bureocrat "needs a house to romance, and to have eat 2 fruit, and you need the tree to grow the fruit, and you need to remember to water the tree, and you also need to attract this other guy,who you can only get if you plant this other tree, which can be planted only near water"

and it feels like i'm never going anywhere no matter how many pinata i'm trying to romance or tree i'm trying to grow.....

maybe i should recruit some of the helpers? you need them for the achievements anyway

Trying to wrap up a few 'cheevs on EA Sports MMA. The lack of polish in this game is astounding for an EA effort.

One 'cheev is for finishing a fight with only kicks. I brought it to the Japanese rules so I could use knee kicks in ground positions, and soccer kicks from up/down. I tried it five times before it became clear the 'cheev wasn't counting knees as kicks, even if they are knees to the head from a Muay Thai clinch.  :-\ Several times it also "improvised" a punch as my fighter moved near a prone, rocked fighter, so 30+ kicks and 1 punch -- no 'cheev, even though my finger never let off the LT kick modifier.

tl;dr - Yeah, yeah, "Tiburon"...

ME2 and Dragon Age have shit video quality on consoles as well, PS3 included because devs usually don't bother to take advantage of blu-ray.  It's not just a matter of not having enough storage space.  Devs also need to stop using the cheap but lousy bink codec.

Who the fuck says Mass Effect is the greatest rpg ever? No one with sense, that's who. It is maintained that Mass Effect is a great game with a lot of flaws. Seriously where did you ever hear that from?

So I'm playing the first Dead Rising after finishing up Dead Rising 2 and goddamn is this game broken to shit. I really want to like it, but the survivor AI is simply awful. It's a real pain in the ass escorting survivors, at least at first. I'm sure, just like DR2, the game will become much more fun when I level up further and I can't wait for that moment.

Magus is just EB's resident weeaboo troll. I'd imagine everyone would know this by now. He's our japafag Methodis.

In DR1 you point to locations for survivors to run towards.

DR2 is easy as fuck. Not once had a problem aside from one fight. I was able to run across the entire map with 5-6+ survivors at once with ease multiple times in DR2. You could never do that on the first run in DR1. I ultimately like DR1 a lot more this reason. DR2 is DR for babbies.

When I do this, they just run right into a big group of zombies and get stuck forever unless I come in and completely clear a 10'x10' area of zombies.

EDIT: So is it not recommended I try and take more than one or two survivors with me at a time in the early levels? Most of my complaints stem from how fucking awful my experience was with three survivors in tow.

Then kill the zombies and give them weapons.

They all have weapons and never use them, unless they're standing still and a zombie happens to be in front of them. Not if they're about to get attacked though, they just take it like a bitch until I save them.
