the problem with the steam version is the patch. It's version 3.00, which is split into two: gta-sa.exe and test.exe

Keep a copy of gta-sa.exe and test-exe, then go to google and search gtasa pc no cd.

You'll probably end up burn game world or whatever the fuck. Dl Version 1.01 [EURO] NO CD, it'll be one gta_sa.exe. Put that in your steam folder.

Voila.

firearms making killing a psychopath waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier since you can just shoot them in the back when they are being a jerk and are running away

uh anyway i checked a poster of an horrible movie, and chuck had the awesome idea of combining a giant teddy bear with a machine gun to make a rambo bear,i went to the toy shop and then crafted the thing and watched a bunch of zombie getting killed by a giant rambo bear plushie :lol :lol :lol

All you need is Defiler or Knife Gloves, no need to carry guns except for survivors

ah yes i use the defiler too if only for the fact that all the ingredients are right inside the hideout so it's easy to craft, tough it's a bit slow to use

Tenderizers. Upon leaving the safe house area and exiting the maintenance doors, hang a right and inspect the standing advertisement. Since the recipe is MMA gloves + box of nails, you can get two of each of those things right outside the safe house. It does almost as much damage as the knife gloves and is actually a little bit faster.

Knife Gloves are better and just as easy to make (bowie knife on top of magazine rack). So... stop spreading FUD raban aka DR2 hater

combo weapons make the game too easy. regular weapons aren't feasible in DR2. They break too easily. In DR1, you could regular weapons like baseball bats for a while as safety nets, but in DR2 they break too easily, making you have to make your entire weapon list made of combo weapons. Gets boring because it makes the weapon variety poor.

You can only make one pair of Knife Gloves outside of the safe house though. You can get TWO tenderizers.

Oh my god I hate San Andreas' story but it's still fun as hell.

"Man, the hood's fucked up!"

No shit, CJ. You mean you totally missed the 80's crack break out?

CJ is a total idiot. It's like a hood story written by a bunch of white dudes, which I know it is, but still. Just aggravating.

Playing GTA3, VC and SA on pc for the first time. It's so much more enjoyable. I should have done this a long, long time ago.

Just go with default settings. Make sprint left ctrl, jump space bar. Turn off mouse steering and inverted camera.

My biggest gripe about SA's controls on the PC is that the game can't pick up triggers on the 360 controller and Xpadder can't differentiate between driving controls and on foot ones.  I use m/k for on foot and a controller for driving.  It is serviceable, but annoying.

Bullet Witch is kinda growing on me. I beat Hard and Easy, and I'm nearly done with Chaos now. It's still not great, but I'm kinda having fun shooting dudes, even if everyone is a little too bullet-spongey. And I almost forgot how AWFUL the final boss is. It's seriously one of the worst bosses of this generation.

I need to get back to Guilty Gear 2 once I'm done with BW.

I'm playing Super Robot Wars Z2, about 5-7 hours in now.  Played through the stories of Gundam OO ep1-3 or so, Code Geass ep1, Votoms something, Shin Mazinger ep1, Dai Guard ep1 and a few others so far.  Game is pretty awesome.  They're doing very faithful jobs of the intros to the new shows.  The animations are crazy good and the game is decently challenging already.  It's funny to see how they tried to cram so many stories into a single world at the start.  You have Britania from Code Geass merging with Union from Gundam OO to be Britania-Union, the PMCs from OO employ the Red Shoulder Brigade mercs from Votoms.  Daiguard and Mazinger are both hanging out in Japan.  Good stuff.

Maps are still fuck long like most srw.  After the first 3 or 4 they start taking over an hour each and there's 80 something total across all the route splits.  At 1-4 maps a day it'll take me about a month to get through it.

Yeah Gears is pretty boring. You need to play it in co-op for it to be any fun.

Multiplayer was good in Gears 1 though.

Is there a way to enhance GTASA character models?

They look noticably dated compared to III and VC's for some reason. Characters have color and everything. I'm playing 32 bit and jesus.

Graphics aren't that important, but they increase the enjoyment of a game. Still low on my list of priorities but doesn't mean I can't enjoy them, espeically if it's in regards to some of my favorite games. Seeing one of your favorite games in a new light is fun to experience.

Since the controls are totally different and it's higher resolution (which is far more important than graphics), the overall package for GTAIII, VC and SA on pc makes it feel like I'm experiencing them again for the first time in ages. I'd definitely like to increase the graphical fidelity a smidgeon, just to re-experience the GTAIII trilogy again.

It's not really a contradiction as there are no absolutes. Whoever has zero graphical appreciation is fooling themselves. Otherwise, I'd play fucking Rogue over Etrian Odsyssey. However, people who place graphics on a pedastal so high are the true villians. There's a difference between being able to appreciate graphics and artistic vision in visuals and actually going to the trouble of comparing frame by frame, pixel by pixel of the same game on different consoles.

Started playing Drankensang: River of Time again now that I've gotten The Witcher out of the way. It's a fun game and the kind of RPG that I happen to like most [party-based, lots of strategy involved]. It's not quite to the level of combat complexity as the likes of Baldur's Gate, but it's certainly much more so than any western RPG recently.

Nah, it's more like 100+ hours. Collecting all of the avatar parts takes some time and so does boosting 200 wins online. I've only boosted 50 wins so far, but at least I got a bunch of good cards out of it.
