i've discovered this program called virtual pinball which apparently has video rendition of real life tables... anybody used it?

it's no williams collection but it's a nice way to get a feeling for other williams table especialy the more modern one

did you know there is a mario pinball on gba? it's not really that good to be honest though,it's also weird in that it's objective based,you go around smacking enemies,which earn you stars,which let you access to other part of the tables which lead to other tables

i think that the developer might have lost the idea of what "basic" means when they designed the goals for whirlwind,i tried getting that 100k bonus you get by lighting all the bumpers for 3 hours,and everytime 5 of the 6 bumpers are flashing my ball seems to be magneticaly attracted to the bottom like some dark magic curse just hit it

Finished the last cheevo in Trenched. I don't think there's anything negative to say about the game other than un-skippable cutscenes and no ENDLESS mode.

Went back to Prince of Persia: the Cel-Shader Diaries, and am still waffling on it. It's a gorgeous, rich-looking, ludologically bereft game. Started from an earlier save-point so I could pick up the Achievements Concubine Combo and Warrior Special. It turns out that the move where you dodge through the Warrior's legs is not a "dodge." So the last time I dodged through his legs 50 times for half an hour, what I needed to do was dodge ANY OTHER DIRECTION. If there are many more cheevos like that, I'm done.

Also finding myself back in GameDevStory. I can't seem to crack the Famitsuu 40 barrier.

jesus borys. hdmi-out is great because you can :arr games that are available on console & run them in high-rez and use mods. you can also run emulators to run all the old console games you like but why the FUCK would you choose one of those (an n64 game no less) to show this off. you even stretched the image out to make sure it looked like total fucking ass ffs

i was going around gamefaqs and they are releasing a 3DS version of williams pinball... but it only has 7 tables! what the heck? this time they didn't even remove the advanced table too like medieval madness and arabian nights,they also removed tables like sorcerer and firepower!

I think Arabian Nights has the most annoying basic goal (the harem multiplier), so the rest should be easy to complete. The worst wizard goal is getting a special on taxi. 99% luck.

the harem multipler wasn't bad,it was mostly matter of aiming the same lane all the time,it's this 100k bonus on whirlwind that's it impossible!

taxi had the second worst basic goal i did so far,since getting a jackpot suffers from the "OOPS THE BALL FALLED DOWN,GO THE WHOLE THING AGAIN!" as the whirlwind one

oh yeah! the rudy gulp bonus was really annoying too! he would never shut up EXCEPT when i was hitting him!

I posted this over at gaf regarding NFS Hot Pursuit and no one got back to me. Maybe the like 3 of you who played HP career can give me some strategies?

It's frustrating because it's a long freaking race (6 mins+) and to be doing really well and then die in the last < 1 min every time sucks.

Are there any strategies/tips for hot pursuit races in this game? Because it seems mainly luck with being able to see and avoid spike strips at the last minute, use jammers when EMP'd and hope to god the cops do not ram you repeatedly instead of the other drivers when you are all out of spike strips.

There's almost no shortcuts on this track, which is what makes it hard since you can't avoid the chaos. I'm drifting ok I guess, I'm not a great drifter.

For some reason I thought this would be a major roadblock track that a lot of people have trouble with and so they'd remember it and have some tips but maybe I'm just bad at this track >_<

Was messing with the HLSL (scanline) filter on MAME for a while. Got it looking pretty good, but I still need to tweak it a little before I'm happy with it.

whelp it seems i can't get the last wizard goal on funhouse but i was able to get all the goals of firepower and all of the goals of space shuttle so i guess i still win!

i somehow got like 4-5 extra balls on space shuttle and ended up scoring around 7,400,000 i thought the game was never going to end anymore!

Just made it to stage 6 in Mole Mania. Game has a great ramp-up in difficulty, and some of the puzzles on stage 4 really stumped me... excellent game, highly recommended for anyone who likes action puzzlers. And speaking of which, I also got the deluxe edition of Catherine and started it - just beat the first 2 worlds so far. Really cool storyline and great visuals.

Beat the first boss, got my body back, and then when I went back to the Nexus some blind broad told me to go up the stairs, but all I could find up there was some pantheon of the best players or some shit. Is that where I'm supposed to be?

No, you need to talk to the monk on the second or third floor or something. He's the only one with a lit candle in front of him I think.

Also, don't consume the souls you get from bosses. You can trade them with NPCs for powerful magic or use them to forge unique weapons.

Beat that race in Hot Pursuit FINALLY. The first time I tried today I beat it after being in critical damage for the last 2 miles and I went YESSSS then I saw I got 4TH PLACE and didn't pass

:'( Did it a few more times and got 1st YAY. Now going to switch back and do cop for a while.

Also tried Pixel Junk Shooter 2 and it was pretty cool so I bought Shooter 1 to play first. And picked up Outland because the demo was alright and duckroll told me the game is goot.

If there's no minimum survivors you need to save each map, what's the point of trying to save them all? And finding gems is just collectathon stuff. Game needs something to grab you more. Seems too easy so far.

Surprisingly, I'm having more fun with Dai Ou Jou Black Label than Ketsui now. I think this is the only game with an enemy chaining system that's actually fun to learn - it doesn't feel like work like Ikaruga or something. I still can't complete any respectable chains, but I've at least got the strategies for stages 1 and 2 down pretty well. I think I'll aim for a 100m+ first loop clear... no idea what I can get out of the second loop. Probably not much.

also Duke Nukem Forever is awful.

but anyway i was playing no good goofers just for kicks and somehow i ended up getting all the wizards goal,who would have thought? i got lucky with the bonus,i got warp twice and ended up skipping 3 holes!

i also finaly got the 3 million shot in funhouse and the 100k shot in whirlwind so now i have all the basic goals and wizard goals for

alas only the grindiest achievement now remain $:-\$
i've been playing with lu bu and he's a pretty kickass character,he's quite proficent with a lot of weapon which make getting the remaining seals for the "unlocked all the seals" achievement easier

EVE Online - Demo

Since it's free, I decided to jump and mess around a bit. I like that it's so much different than other MMOs and doesn't really place any artificial limits on what you're able to do in the game. Things are pretty slow, however, and it often feels really daunting. The early tutorials are a nice introduction to the game and there's a ton of them, so I'll have plenty to do in the next two weeks.

By the way, if anyone wants to dump their unused ISK, I'll take it.

Today I am choking on everything.

No bomb no miss stages 1-3 in Kestui, die 3 times in stage 4.
No miss stages 1-4 in DOJ Black Label, die 3 times to the stage 4 boss. (at least I got a new high score - a crappy 85m)
Make it the final section of Obelisk in Catherine twice, die both times.

I shouldn't be playing so many hard games at once. No good for my blood pressure.

Well I finally beat Obelisk. I was a huge pussy and did it in pairs though (in pairs, there are less blocks to climb). $:-\$

Gonna finish my story replay now and get the last couple golds I need to unlock Axis Mundi. 1000/1000 shouldn't be too far off.

Playing more Radiant Historia... I absolutely love the concepts and mechanics behind the game, but the slowness of the battles and the backtracking (what, I have to go through the goddamned Sand Fortress AGAIN?) are starting to wear on me a bit.
