Just about up to the final boss in Brain Lord. Will probably finish it soon, then start XIII-2 when that shit drops.

Is 2 worth playing?  It's the only one I have.

It's ok. I think Fable's orb system is awesome. You can have all these random orbs representing actual people playing as you run around the world. And you can even hear them if they have their mics on. Makes the world feel more alive than it would be.

It says I'm 17% through the game.  All I did was walk for 10 minutes.

I got nearly all of the achievements in Fable 2, just not the online/multiplayer ones... haven't opened my copy of 3 yet. Fable 2 was OK, combat system and music sucked, but I really liked being a slumlord and running around dropping farts...

I need to get on TA one of these days, one of my friends writes for it - her and I (and some other people) were actually out last nite in Williamsburg chilling...

does it ever become a game? I didn't understand what was happening.  At one point I fought a guy, but not really.  There's a shield button and sword button.  I hold shield, he attacks, I press sword; repeat 3 times and continue walking.

No, and they treat it like Farmville. You cant continue the game until it is a specific moon phase, at which you have to wait up to 10 days for it to occur without cheating.

Wait, is it cool to hate on Sword and Scorcery here?

Because I got it thinking it was going to be totally next-level hip indie shit that I am totally down with like Suda games.

Then it was some slow ass boring point and click adventure game.  I beat the first chapter episode or whatever and it took me back to the break room and I never touched it again.  I don't get it.

Shadows of the Damned was pretty alright in the end.  Not great.  Some parts were really bad, and sometimes it was great, but most of the time it's a competent, if not dull, shooter.

Most enemies are instantly killed with lightshot+context melee, the rest have simple enough patterns.  Bosses feel like a chore.  There's no challenge in this game (played on hard mode, btw).

I liked it.  Maybe a disappointment? I don't know how much Mikami was involved, or Suda, or the Italian director guy.  Whack by Mikami's standards;  an improvement by Suda's.

oh, and it has like zero replay value.  unskippable cutscenes, no new game plus, nothing unlocked for finishing except an extra hard mode.

Gameplay might have been an improvment by Suda standards, but creativity/style/uniqueness was whack by Suda standards.  Game needed a lot more crazy next-level stuff.

I beat Uncharted 3. Not sure where I would rank it would the other 2 since it's been so long.

Also beat Infamous 2. Great game. Bummer of an ending. The Beast's revelation at the end felt forced and really didn't make much sense with the sacrifices Cole made in the first one. Still a better game than part 1. Found all the shards just need to find the last dead drop.

Also started playing Armageddon Riders which I bought 6 months ago on PSN but never got around to trying. It's basically Carmageddon which is cool. I'm looking forward to going home tonight and playing some more.

Spent 90 minutes watching my friend play Battlefield 3's single player campaign. The game is very pretty, even on 360, but there are too many points where it takes away player control, it's incredibly heavy-handed in herding the player around, making you play the game the way they expect, and there is almost no ramp of difficulty. The first bit is a run-n-gun, where the player character can take a lot of hits, and then there's a stealth-ish section where the supposedly same character is getting chewed up incredibly quickly.

Glad I didn't buy it. I'm still curious to go pick up a cheap copy of Battlefield Bad Company 2 though, since it sounds like the campaign there is actually fun.

Played a bit of Wipeout HD today and holy hell am I shit. Could barely hang on Rapier and pinballed all over the course on Phantom. Plus I've gotten the nasty habit of only being able to play in internal view due to playing too much rally, so just addressing that became a gargantuan issue.

Managed to get skilled medals on most stuff in the HD campaign though, prolly try to see if I can't reclaim my elite status from the glory days of my ps3 phat tomorrow.

yeah I'm working on getting Yuri maxed out with his cooking. I'm about halfway there and i have all the recipes already. Lol, sweet, I'll try cooking in those places. I love the skits, they're awesome. Especially the ones after you get the hot springs outfits. Raven going on about his 'manly musk' was hilarious.

Finished Renegade Ops Inferno Campaign.  Ending was AWESOME :rock

I like the game a lot, gorgeous graphics, really fun and good gameplay, leaderboards, co-op, 2ndary objectives.   The voice acting was amazing.  I think the only reason I'd give it like a 3 1/2 out of 4 instead of 4 out of 4 is after about halfway the game stops introducing anything new and it's just fighting the same enemies over and over again doing the same objectives every level.  It's fun but I wish each stage had something new about it.  Even the final stage/boss was just the same stuff you'd been fighting the whole game.  Still great though.

1p once I got the hang of it was pretty easy with Roxy as long as you took your time and took out a few enemies at a time.  Air striking every big enemy and using 2ndary weapons like flame -> machine gun lvl.3 made short work of it all on normal difficulty.  I think the only times I'd lose lives is when my vehicle trips and ends up upside down sitting still while all the enemies pound on me.

I tried co-op for a bit and it's fun but LOOOOOOOOOOL.  The fact the difficulty doesn't scale AT ALL when you have added players/firepower makes it so ridiculously easy in 2p on normal.  I can't even imagine what a joke it is 4p even on the higher difficulties.  The AI doesn't even target more than 1 player so everyone else can pound on it without worry.  Fun co-op but there really should be some scaling depending on the player count  :lol

Time to do the Coldstrike campaign and max my Roxy!

I like the pace of the game so far and the quests are okay so far. There's a dude in the swamp who sells you weed and beer.

I am getting tired of JRPGs all being morally straight and wrpgs being totally morally ambiguous. Either everything you do is judged right by the game so it doesn't matter what you do or everything you do doesn't matter because moral ambiguity removes any singular good from existing.

I don't mean a moral system a la Bioware, but more that everything has to be tainted so that no matter what side you pick or what thing you do, it's bad in some way. It's like everything has to be tainted. If Children of Men was a WRPG, the baby would have to also possibly be a satan spawn with bionuclear warfare hidden in its tears.

That sounds more like the Witcher series (especially 2)... I kinda like it when there are no 'obvious' choices though in a western RPG though. Because I'm always so tempted to do everything the 'right' way in a Bioware game. It's like fuck it, why even bother with a moral system at that point?

At Bebpo's request, posting my Alpha Brotocol ending:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
- Was allied with SIE (+3), Albatross (+6), and STEVEN HECK!! (+10). Chose Albatross as my  handler for the last mission.
- Got ground support from Albatross/G22.
- Got technical support from Omen Deng.
- Allied with Shaheed and Al-Samad. :lol
- Turned Marburg's alliance by persuading him he was just being used. I still had to shoot him, tho.
- Exposed Madison's death to her father, Alan Parker. Alan stabbed Marburg as revenge, but died in the attempt.
- Sniped Darcy.
- Spared Westridge and Leland, letting them suffer through indefinite courtroom trials.
- Mina was killed. :'(
- Scarlet escaped, and her current whereabouts are unknown.
- Sailed off into the sunset on a shitty fishing boat while talking to myself.
- In the end, I successfully exposed and took down both Halbech and Alpha Protocol LIKE A ROGUE BOSS.

And of course, no completion of Alpha Brotocol is complete without watching this after you finish:

Also whenever I re-watch clips of AP it reminds me how amazing Thorton's deadpan voice acting is.  I know a lot of people complained about it, but it's freaking GENIUS and makes the retorts all the more funny.

Where I am in Edna and Harvey (around 50%) the puzzles are tough and there's a looot of tedious movement trying to figure them out.  I can see where the reviews were frustrated.  Game is pretty long too.  I hear 15-20 hours, which is long for a PnC adventure.  I'm pretty open to faq stuff after 15 mins of being stuck though, so maybe more like 10-15 for me.

I like to be a good guy in games with moral choices (I play Mass Effect full paragon, even though renegade Shepard is lulz) but so many quests in Skyrim require you to be an ass and do morally reprehensible shit to complete them. I do like JRPGs and their good values. "We can do it because we're friends and we work as a team!" etc etc. Better than you are badass Hitman with a dark past or some shit. I dunno. I hate videogames

Played The Darkness 2 demo for a bit. Lots of cutscenes and people saying fuck because they are tough guys and an FOV that felt like it was causing permanent damage to my eyes.

Finished Coldstrike Campaign.  That was fun.  Now gotta wait for Renegade Ops 2 after Just Cause 3.

WTF, this is the first I'm hearing of the Coldstrike Campaign.  I guess I know what I'm doing tonight.

Do I just suck at video games, or is this part from Arkham Asylum really stupid? I'm stuck on the part where just after you shut down the pumps you have to fight a titan and FLOODS of fodder enemies simultaneously. I'm on hard mode and it's fucking busting my balls!
