I just spent hours trying to clear the first loop of survival with the dual katanas in Ninja Gaiden 2. After I finally killed Genshin and his 12 fucking mages, the second loop started out pretty rough because I had to use my healing item early, but it stabilized eventually. And then comes the god damn demon dog wave. I was doing well on them, but eventually one of the fuckers grabbed me, and then as soon as I get up I get stuck with an IS, which stuns me for a moment, then I get grabbed again before I can get away, then I get up and try to use my ninpo, but I guess I mistimed it because Ryu does a regular attack, then I get grabbed and die.

Wow, uh, Back to the Future ep3: Citizen Brown was really short.  Couldn't have been more than 2-3 hours.  This will be an easy backlog series to catch up on.

I only played the first ep of Monkey Island but I thought it was their regular 4-5 hour Sam & Max length.  BttF seems around half that length plus a little.

i finaly found a way to run super meat boy on my pc at a playable speed by disabling all the bells & whistles i could think of... i reached the boss of world 4 (i understand there are 7 worlds in all?) game is nice but i'm not sure i like the fact that every level is like 20 seconds long, also i don't think it's that hard, you are so light that you can usualy jump a lot earlier than you should and even when you miss a jump,as long as you land on a wall you can always wall jump to your safety... even when there is an hard jump to make or something to dodge, the level are so short that it takes like what... 5 tries in 2 minutes? still i haven't dabbled in the hard section of the levels so there is that... the music totaly sounds like some lost amiga game which i like, the reference are nice too at least the most subtle one (like the one where the villain kidnaps the girl by harpooning and uppercutting her :lol) i'm playing with my keyboard but frankly i don't really miss the 360 controller... it kinda reminds me of N tough i didn't like N very much (collecting junk = so boring)

uh i've also tried that suikoden card game that got recently fantranslated on GBA,you get to hear all familiar suikoden 2 tunes on super shitty early GBA but the actual game is kinda lame, you basicaly plays missions (some depicting certain suikoden 2 event) and then you and your opponent play character cards on it,until one of you wins, one character usualy act as a leader (important character like the hero or flik) different character kicks different grades of ass and/or have special skills (for example flik and victor gets stronger when paired together) and uh... that's about it,it's super simple... also while everything is fantranslated the text fucks up a lot,so those 2 souls that feel like trying might want to wait

I liked N+ a lot in hindsight. The collection aspect adds a good element of risk/reward, because it adds to your time limit that carries across each pack of levels (4 or 5 each). The co-op missions just frustrated me because I hated doing my part and still failing because my partner screwed up. Co-op games :yuck

BOOM JUST GOT 1000 IN MASS EFFECT 3

this like my fourth thousand ever, lol.  was very easy; i got almost all in one run on single player + a little bit of multi.  only one i had to grind for was the stupid 5000 kill one (i had about 2000 at the end of the game), but there's an infinite spawn area you can glitch to help out with that.

I've been playing Dragon Quest VI. Good game, my third Dragon Quest after VIII and I. Just Beaten Mudo and I can change my classes now. Any tips on how to behave? I'm guessing it's the best to stick to stick to a class until mastered and then try to master another to get the special classes? Also, are the more unusual classes like fool or dancer any good?

Also it seems like I can now recruit non important party members? Game really seems to change it's structure after it's first part. ???

star ocean 4 is.... decent? this is the horrible rpg everybody was talking about? so far it seems like a nice game, there is something about the cutscene that feels wrong even if i can't really put my finger on it but the rest of the game seems to be a lot of fun,lot of stuff to equip, nice graphics,mini-achievements to collect, items to make, quest to solve.... there seems to be a lot of stuff going on

did anybody on the bore liked 3? i played up to the end of the first CD and then quitted,i remember being a somewhat unimpressive game

People are mainly referring to the cutscenes, characters, and story which are all incredibly terrible.

But the battle system kind of sucks to.  All you do is the sight kill thing over and over and over and over and over.  I don't like the battle systems in SO much.  SO3 had stupid MP death and other shit, and this SO4 is just kind of lame.  Somehow I still finished both games even though I hate them.

I thought if you can get over the storyline SO4 has a lot of cool stuff to offer. But most people can't get over the awkward characters and their designs.

Fifstar, I was just reading a Gamespite article about DQ6... to be honest, by the end of the game I grinded for hours (while doing other stuff of course) just to make all my characters Heroes :P Pretty great game but there are points that leave you utterly directionless, and the world is enormous compared to most other games of its time. If you haven't played 4 or 5 yet, I highly recommend them. Or 7 if you have tons of free time to spare :P

the opening is super cool "OMG WORLD WAR III" then you get to the game and it's like watching a bad ripoff of star trek :lol

Quote
All you do is the sight kill thing over and over and over and over and over.

you mean that blindside thing? i can't seems to pull it off consistently and besides enemy dies in 1 combo,so i don't see any reason to bother

oh by the way,i love the bestiary so full of useless info that gives a little more personality to the otherwise generic bats and bugs
battle also happens so fast, you touch an enemy and *DING* battle start! that's how it should work, instead of having things like in lost odyssey... OOOOOHHHH LOOK I'M SWINGING THE CAMERA AROUND,I WONDER IF I CAN FIND ANY NINJA SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

^ Nope, I'm playing Ninja Gaiden II's survival missions.

I'm not even sure what the fuck that was.

The Gaja starts his tail attack as my UT is ending, I don't notice, get smacked out of the air, instakill. That video was on the third loop of survival, so at that point there are a few enemies who can end you in an instant like that. :(

Speaking of NG2, Icono, I popped in NGB in my 360 tonight. Just wanted to go through a few levels on hard mode because I felt like getting my butt kicked. I've never played NGB on my 360 so I had to start on normal mode and I was beasting through the first three stages barely getting hit thanks to NG2 and I haven't played NG2 in years. I got the die 100 times achievement in NG2, so I certainly earned my stripes, but NG2 has made regular NG easy as balls, at least on normal mode.

Parappa and Lammy don't play like other rhythm games.

In Parappa, you listen to the lyrics.

Like say:

In the rain or in the snow
Got the got the funky flow

Maybe the game will look like this:

Where /_\ denotes the triangle button.

/_\  (in) /_\ (the)  /_\  (rain)/_\ (or)  /_\ (in) /_\ (the)/_\(snow)
/_\(got)/_\(the) /_\(got)/_\(the)/_\(fun)/_\ky)/_\(flow)

That's a button press for every single syllable.

You press the buttons to the lyrics, not to the icons that appear on the screen like every other music game.

Lammy works in a very similar way.

in the um jammer video the guy is bordering on failing.  I'll give it another go later.  Been forever since I played any of those games, too situated in modern rhythm games.  I wish there would be more story based rhythm games, instead of just playing song.

Gitaroo man will always be my favorite rhythm game.  pour one out for inis  :'(

anyway, Shank 2 is pretty fun.  I remember disliking the demo for the first one.

also changed my PS3 controller after maybe 5 years.  I imported the white dual shock 3 and got it the same day I bought Uncharted 1 (the friday before release).  The left analog stick had a deep ring from rubbing up against the borders.

I was like, "No, thanks. I'm good."

Guess that type of game just isn't for me.

But it was so cool! It's not like games like that are really made on consoles in Japan anymore though, so it doesn't probably matter. :( I could see them being a hit on steam or dd services, though, particularly Mister Mosquito.

Lots of people play the me 3 co-op stuff on my friends list. I kinda wish they had done the competitive and the co-op but the co-op stuff was indeed fun and I ended up liking it much more than horde and firefight in Halo which got old after a couple of games and didn't really have the unlocking aspect to it.

only buy specter packs.  the 5000 is worthless and the 20000 is only good if you're just looking to upgrade a weapon or something

also there's a time-consuming money making glitch if you can get a whole team to work with you, though they might have fixed that with the patch today
