Finished with Sonic Generations, finally. S-ranked all stages, got every achievement aside from "Green Hill in under 1 minute" and "beat end guy without getting hit". Final battle was stupid and I had no idea what was going on the whole time, definitely the low point of an otherwise excellent game.

Also finishing up a second run through of Binary Domain, where I mop up more achievements. Should be done with that soon.

Also was playing some NES - Goonies 2 (which I beat in one sitting, go me), Rygar (this is the next oldskool game I never beat that I want to), Kid Niki: Radical Ninja (:bow NINJA SCHOOL WILL HELP YOU :bow2) and Kickle Cubicle.

more digital board game i've been playing

7 Wonders

7 Wonders is played between 3 and 7 players, each player start with a world wonder (like the colossus of rhodes and the pyramid of giza) which dictates it's starting resource and special powers, then the whole deck gets distribuited evenly between all the players with each card representing either basic resource/advanced resource, tech, military, points or special effect...

each card cost resource (except of course resource themself) but obviously you won't always have the resource you need (especialy since your wonder require certain specific kind of resource to trigger it's special power so most of the time you just focus on the resource that your wonder like) so to play a card you want to play you have to buy resource from your neighbourgh players (you start with 3 coins and gain more by selling card for 3 coins or using special effect, each resource cost 2 coins)

after playing a card, you pass the remaining card to the player to your right (so sometimes you might want to play/sell a card just so that your neighbourgh don't get it) until every player remains with only 1 card in hand... after that happens the age ends, each player with a military higher than his neighbourgh scores point (while also inflicting a penality to the loser) and then age 2 starts... age 2 is played the same but cards tend to have bigger value (more military, more score, more resource, tech card are always the same) as to give you a chance to catch up if you sucked in the first age... after age 2 comes age 3 and here comes a new element introduced, which are guilds, guilds are special card that scores depending on what your neighbour have played... for example there is the ship guild which gives you point if your neighbour have played tons of resource, the spy guild which scores depending on the amount of military card your neighbour have played and so on...

after the end of age 3 the game ends, tech card comes in 3 kind and you get point equal to the square root of each kind plus a bonus of 7 point (which is pretty big) for every set of 3 kinds you complete (so if you have 2 cards of all 3 kinds you'd score 4+4+4+14 = 26 points) and of course this show you the beauty of the game,if you are gathering tech cards and another player decides to bother you then he can simply eat all the tech up card he gets while not giving you any but in doing so he might score less and get fucked by another opponent... so basicaly it's a game where you might end up fucked if you decide to fuck with someone else

beat em ups really got shit on last gen.   Urban Reign, Spike Out, Beatdown, others-- all got like 5s on release but are good to great brawlers.  even the final fight game.   I guess they were rated as a $50 game at launch, which is fair enough.   also, their cutscene/story attempts are bad attempts at edgy, but that only makes them more charming.

The Warriors wasn't. It was highly rated and deservedly so. Best 3d non Musou beat em up.

Finished all the missions and cases in Sleeping Dogs. Fuck that was awesome! What a brilliant game. Actually a fantastic narrative and I was really engaged with characters.

Gonna try and mop up the 1k tonight, so quick questions:

- whats the best way to earn money (I wanna buy dem Lamborghinis)
- how do you get the collectibles to show on the map

Beat Binary Domain a second time through but even though I raised a lot of trust levels to the max I didn't

spoiler (click to show/hide)
see the scene where Cain and Bo survive at the end...

Weird. I'll just look them up on Youtube. Then go and grind Charlie and Rachel's loyalties to max at the end of chapter 2, then I'm done with it.

cheese the cockfighting game if you can (it will also help with getting the gold reward attached to it which is needed for the achievement). Also get to level 10 Face so you can get the 40% discount on the cars and clothes you buy.

go on all the dates with the girls you met (their numbers will be in your phone) each completed one will add all of a specific collectable to your map (shrine, jade statues, security cameras, lockboxes, more races)

I figured I'd get bored too if I saved all the side for the end, that's the only reason why I haven't finished the story missions yet. I let myself get distracted by everything I come across.

No, it depends on the trust level. You only have a short time with Cain, so it can be difficult to max him out.

You don't need to max his trust to get him to reappear but you do need to get everyone's trust to very high which can be a bitch to do on the higher difficulties.

Multiplayer's actually pretty fun but the number of players now is so small that I must have every regular player on my friends list now. They're almost all german for some reason.

Damn, maxing out trust sounds like a chore. I'm happy I didn't know this before I played the game or I would have reloaded to make the "right" choices.

I'm very impressed with Life of Pixel on the vita so far. Its a great little psmobile game. It is a platformer about a pixel going through a bunch of old systems up to the NES. Its got some challenge but nothing too intense. The best part is seeing some elements evolve. The first system in the game with smooth scrolling was amazing. Helps me appreciate what a mind blowing evolution at the time that must have been

My favorite system (in the game) is the zx spectrum. It has a cool look and some great music.

ps3 is here so i'm finaly playing atelier rorona (i've decided to go in chronological order) :spin

and... i'm somewhat disappointed,it's somewhat empty and slow paced, the game ask you to do a task but it takes like 5 minutes to finish it,then you have like a bunch of in-game days where there is nothing to do but of course skipping them seems just like a waste so you end up dicking around doing chores for when the next task shows up... it's also pretty bad looking,i saw an atelier totori video and it looked awesome but this looks like an early ps2 game a-la dark cloud,i'm not even sure how such a huge difference is even possible

the shop music is awesome though,i also like how your party for once suck at combat,i went into the mines without the knight guy and they kicked my ass in 3 second flats

Atelier Rorona is a bit rough around the edges. The other PS3 Atelier games are more polished.

You might think you have plenty of spare time, but you should try to use that for exploring, gathering, and synthesizing.

the game is starting to pick more steam so i'm actualy starting to like it better,i usualy spend all my free time doing junkie quest since that raise money+alchemy experience
anyway is there any point to fill all of the single bars when doing an assignment? i just give the knight item at random and that seems enough to fill the big bar and get me 3 stars and "amazing!" comment but you never know with these sort of game...

by the way the artwork rocks,i like hagel especialy

Its certainly not an original idea but its very well executed here. Not that anyone cares but the BBC Micro is my favorite, I had it wrong above. Dat music :heart

I've also been playing Haunt the House on vita/psmobile. Unless more opens up I'm ~50% done after 30 minutes. The game is $4 too, kind of overpriced. You fly around as ghost possessing objects and scaring people. It has a cute artstyle and its fun to see the people freak out :lol

I guess its back to Hard Corps, but after a week off I'm gonna SUCK! LOL!

Played a few rounds of Tomb Raider multiplayer. It like playing the main game with a lower frame-rate, worse lighting and effects, and horribly efficient AI in the enemies. :lol

It's also a bit like Max Payne 3's MP, which I suppose is like some other game I haven't already played; you get Salvage (money) and XP (levels). Higher levels unlock new loadout items, and Salvage allows you to buy them. It's pretty satisfying to shotgun some level 40 chappie who was clearly confident he was going to go to town on my level 3 ass. :punch :gun

i've gotten to assignment 8 (which i guess it means i'm 2/3 done) in rorona and i'm really disappointed, when i talk about the original three atelier iris game on ps2 i always tell people to skip the first one,but why? that's because it just feel's noobishly made, you can only hold 9 items per kind (for no other apparent reason that they didn't bother to make a two digit counter) there is no skill system behind it,the alchemy system is just mashing random junk you find together... and this game while not as bad as it kinda feels the same, like this game should be the follow up to the first atelier iris instead of the follow up to mana khemia 2,mana khemia 2 had a pretty cool battle system where you used 5 party member and tagged them out and in battles and it was good, and you learned new skills by doing alchemy shit and everybody had like a bajillion of skills! why is this game so basic by comparison? since this game has less rpg element i'd expect it at least that the alchemy system would be more complex and/or involved but the quality and trait of items rarely comes into play so there's no reason to bother, somehow it doesn't surprise me at all this one didn't get a vita port... i can't help but hope it will end as soon as possible just so that i can jump to (hopefull better) totori

i've also got zen pinball 2,the original table are decent but the other one are awfull,i expected the street fighter 2 to be amazing just because of street fighter 2 music but all they have is a bad rock remix of ken theme :yuck

I like Mark of the Ninja, but i just cant get myself to play it. I just want a 3d stealth ninja game that isnt as shitty as tenchu. why is this so hard to do

Have you tried Tenchu 4 for Wii or PSP? subtitle is deadly something, I think.  I'm slowly going through Mark of Ninja and it's so much like Tenchu 4 in 2D.  Should probably mention that Tenchu 4 is unlike past Tenchu games, and some people didn't like that.

i've made a huge, huge,HUGE mistake... i decided to take a peek at atelier ayesha,it was more or less like opening pandora's vase, this game

- looks freaking amazing
- has incredible music
- all of the stupid annoyance from rorona are gone
- random rewards everywhere
- alchemy system that makes sense and were dicking around is rewarded instead of shunned
- did i already say how fucking good it looks?

like i expected it to be better, but it's not just "better" the jump is fucking huge, this is like going from FF2 to FF7,i can't stop playing,i forgot the last time i had so much fun playing an rpg

its a shame, the game sounded like it had potential to be a really funny game industry parody.  i'm sure the jokes are in there, but the main attraction is clearly not that.

neptunia is in my "to do" list after i'm done with the atelier's game,i'll tell you guy how much it sucks by then

Sounds like rose tinted glasses to me. It's doesn't look that good.

That music is already getting on my nerves.
why do those games even have fighting?

make it all alchemy and uguu cutscenes, that's why people buy them shits, right?

The first Neptunia is unplayable bad. The second Neptunia is just regular bad. Dunno about the 3rd one, maybe it's improved to mediocre.

i've been playing this all day like a madman and it's going all right into my weeaboo tights, the characters, the locale, the details scattered all around the game (i friggin love the posters) the way the game keeps throwing stuff to do at you, this is how an rpg should be done... i know this will sound like horrible hyperbole but even if all other ps3 game i'm going to play turned out to be crap, this will have made getting a ps3 worthwhile

how come i have to hear how "jrpg are too linear" but when one that gives the player some freedom finaly comes i have to hear "no,we don't like this one,too much loli!"

BAH! :maf

Maybe they should make one without loli then. What's too much to ask?

Started playing Dark Souls again what with Dark Souls 2 being so hot n exciting these days. And there are quite a few more parts of that game I dislike than I remember. Or maybe I didn't dislike them the first time around, but I certainly do now. Seath's fortress and New Londo seem like such chores. No fun enemies, no fun locales, dreadful bosses - though I suspect Four Kings will be easy due to my gear. At this point I'm just going through the motions until I get to the Kiln and Gwyn, who I remember as being fun with the caveat that you don't parry. I think I should go buy a new game. Maybe Tomb Raider is cheap these days.

Or I can just play some more Peggle...

Finished Dragon's Dogma... decided to go back to EO4 for a bit until I figure out what to play next. Suppose I could play Witcher that I installed the other day.
