On the heels of the 4-pt Achievements in Dishwasher debacle, Disney Infinity introduced 5 more 4-pt Achievements, of which I have ALL now, excepting the one based on separately sold, rare round Power Discs.

I am pretty fucking :maf right now.

Yeah, my impression of Rayman Origins was that it was easy to get through for casuals, but hard to FC for the hardcore gamer. That's an impressive balance to strike.

I want to buy Legends but, (er... um... ) I want to finish Origins first, and I left my copy in the USA. Everything they've done on that engine is just amazingly beautiful.

I didnt get enough loms to unlock the final boss stage :(

I remember the original Rayman being pretty tough, mainly because you had to free all the lums just to access the final level. Origins and Legends look incredible though. :-[

Now I see why magus was disappointed in Rayman Legends (I only skimmed his posts :-[). It only has 5 new worlds and 1 special world, plus 5 worlds that were recycled from Origins. What's there is good, but it's really light on new content. Probably only worth full price if you've never played Origins and never intend to.

At least it has a great soundtrack and amazing graphics.

Actually, it looks like you keep unlocking more Invasion stages as you collect more Teensies, which should nearly doubly the amount of stages in each world. So I would think that there are ~80 new stages in all + the rehashed stages from Origins. Not too bad I guess.

yep yep and the special world is a super lame 10 minutes affair that is just a repeat from previous level + another extra level that it's totaly not worth the effort

i actualy didn't bother with invasion stages but aren't they basicaly time trials with slightly different layout? i see no reason to care

More GTAIV EFLC on pc. I've barely done any missions in either expansions this go, mostly just fucking around and exploring. Had  a short stint online with Raban-chan but I'm mostly doing stunts with bikes and shit. Back to basics! I've clocked quite a few hours over the past few days playing. Good to have a game I can play before GTAV drops.

Some bad ass stunt vids:

Raban and I need to have a stunt game.

PC version is :bow btw.

lol Third time going through EFLC, second time this year. :( Definitely one of the best 3d GTA's. :bow

Time trials/less room for mistake/harder execution is a staple of modern platformers. Just take the same level and say 'clear it as fast as possible without getting hit' and you've got a whole new game mode. :-[

The Invasion stages are completely different from the regular ones. You should go back and play them, they're pretty good (and short -- you have to beat them in under 40 seconds to get the gold medal).

I played some hearthstone. I've only used one of the heroes (up to level 11 and making a custom deck) but it's very fun so far. The only CCG I'm really familiar with is Magic, and I'm digging some of the differences here. The mana system is particularly nice, as dealing with land is my least favorite part of MtG.
I haven't played enough to tell how balanced things are but things seem ok so far.
The UI is really delightful, as expected from Blizzard.

Been trying to get 20 billion with Type B/Laser in Dodonpachi Saidaioujou for a while now. The section after the midboss rush in stage 5 screws me up almost every time because B-L's rapid fire does pitiful damage, so it's easy to get overwhelmed. Both times I've managed to get through it perfectly, though, I screwed up the final section of the game and/or the final boss, which caused me to finish with ~19 billion. Kinda frustrating.

What's funny is that I played a credit with Type D/Laser just now and got 20 billion on my first try, even though I completely screwed up stage 3. She's ridiculously overpowered. :lol

Have you been hitting training mode? If one pilot is obviously better than the others you'll see it on the high score lists.

I spend way too much time in training mode. I think I've figured out the safest method through everything, it just involves a few dangerous moves that require some decent timing. I can do it most of the time in training, but I keep screwing it up when it actually matters :-\

Destroy All Humans
The inner monologues were the secret highlight of this game. I especially enjoyed the ones of the housewives in suburbia that are barely holding it together and the cops' suppressed violent tendencies and Judge Dredd and Dirty Harry references (http://destroyallhumans.wikia.com/wiki/Thoughts and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433547/quotes). I liked the writing in general, from the whole B-movie flair to the fact that every government official (and newspaper headlines) keeps acting like you're just a communist. It's all low hanging fruit, but it works.

The game itself was OK. I didn't expect to play yet another game with telekinesis powers, but here we are. Were. Anyway, it was pretty fun, but the lack of checkpoints really hurt in some missions, especially the one where you have to escort a nuclear bomb.

Crash Course: USA 1-5 Gold, Yuurop 1-5 Gold, Japan 1, 2, and 4 Gold. Only gotta get Japan 3 and 5, and then I can GET ON WITH MY LIFE: Saints Row IV! Max Payne 3! [Prototype 2]! (Crash Course 2)

Also enjoying playing Kinect Nike+ Fitness. It's a good workout, and the presentation is Nike-level cool and polished. Surprisingly, it's either a Backbone or Foundation 9 co-production, which is frequently a guarantee of NOT QUALITY. I guess the actual dev, Sumo Digital, managed to sneak it past them.

Binged on Fallout 3 before school started last week. Start to finish, all the DLC. Did the mothership DLC first for the decent energy weapons, then straight to Evergreen Mills for the Terrible Shotgun. Computer crashed every couple hours -- wouldn't be a Bethesda game if it didn't. Will never touch the game again.

I last played it ~4 years ago so I remembered most of the tricks and shortcuts - hence finishing zeta DLC and getting terrible shotgun right off the bat. Also abused console commands heavily, especially the godawful running speed. Hell, half that damn game was just waiting to walk/run down endless identical corridors/buildings. Didn't take as long as you'd think.

Got really pissed off at Soul Hackers today. Long, annoying dungeon featuring tons of doors that teleport you all the way back, featuring enemies that can use insta-kill spells. Took me about 10 tries to beat the boss (who kept cheesing me) but when I finally did, I didn't save quickly enough and immediately had to fight another boss who wiped the floor with me. Grinded a bit but even that was annoying since I kept on getting fucked over by insta-kills...

That last dungeon was a bitch, hopefully the next few areas are good and not as painful to go through.

started playing Far Cry 3.

Jesus christ, were the creative directors behind this project aware they were creating such a moronic piece of entertainment? Were they designing something aimed at people with 2 digit IQs? Or were they simply imbeciles themselves? I'm betting on the latter.

The game is certainly the most racist thing I've experienced in a long time. A rich dumb white kid is the only hope of the unwashed island natives! New Zealand Maori imagery and accents have been misappropriated heavily.

Some of the "humor" on the item descriptions is just plain offensive. "A photo of a dwarf! - He's naked and pointing and laughing! He's not pointing with his finger..." HAHAHAHAHA GET IT?! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT HIS DICK! HAHAHAHA

The gameplay is fine, great, even. It's just a shame the story, characterisation and presentation is some repugnant frat boy fantasy.

I feel bad for ripping on Walking Dead now, as that game is Shakespeareian compared to this.

Still, easiest 1000 (and sweet sweet UPlay rewards :drool) this side of King Kong so I will rinse out the requisite content asap

:wag The official title is Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie®™, and I almost didn't 1000 it due to a bug during one of the ape's sequences.

I'm pretty sure my uPlay account is active whenever I play a Ubisoft game, but I've never heard of these uPlay Rewards. What the hell are they?

Some of the achievements also net you "Uplay points", which you can use in the Uplay store to unlock items and content. It's basically just a ploy to get you onto Ubisofts mailing list, but it is quite a neat feature IMO. I just used some points I earned in Splinter Cell Conviction, to unlock a sweet magnum in Far Cry, for example.

Yeah, it's pretty short though and the bosses were imaginative enough that it didn't hurt the game much for me. The one you damage by pulling all her admirers away was my personal favourite, even though it was the easiest.

I did expected more in the way of mechanics and/or difficulty going in, this being a Treasure game and all, but I'm glad turned out to be so simple. The core mechanic just about works for what they expect you to do with it. If they had you stacking crates or actually platforming using the fling-jump and whatnot you'd tear your hair out pretty quick.
That said, I apparently did miss a critical component. Actually exorcising the demons from my precious sisters. Whoops. I just beat them up and moved on to the next one. orz To be fair, it's only mentioned in the manual and I didn't read it, so... I could easily fight them all again and do the exorcising special attack each time, but I'm done as far as I'm concerned. :yeshrug

Huh. I logged in to the site; it's got Splinter Cell Conviction for me, nothing else.

OK, I don't know why it has no record of Assassin's Creed II, which I entirely finished, nor for Just Cause 2, which I just started. I could swear I've seen uPlay pop up on the opening screen for both of those. Pretty sure Prince of Persia required uPlay, but it likely pre-dates Rewards.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle (PS3)- "2.5D" fighting game by Cyber Connect, who made the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games, so the game looks great (amazing, in fact- they did an incredible job of bringing the manga/anime to life), but runs at 30 FPS and has balance problems all over the fucking place.  While Narutard had story modes, this game's "story mode" is just TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT FIGHT TEXT TEXT TEXT FIGHT TEXT FIGHT TEXT TEXT and is pretty disappointing.  I like JoJo's and the fan service makes it worth it, but this a prime example of an over-hyped game that's selling well, yet will probably be heavily-discounted and in the used game bargain bin sections soon enough.  Reading that lots of Japanese fans are feeling pretty burned by it.

Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate (PS3): It's DOA5, with five additional characters (Ein and Leon are back, Jacky from Virtua Fighter, and Momiji and Rachel from Ninja Gaiden), more stages (mostly stages added back in from older DOAs and NG), more music (also older songs), some balance changes, a new vertical power blow move, and improved net code.  Not bad for forty bucks, plus there's a free to play version on PS3 with six playable characters and full online play against people with the retail version.  No limited time to play the game online or play coins needed, like what Tekken Revolution does.  Worth a look.

Rayman Legends (Vita): "This game looks fantastic, wow!  Hey, what the fuck is this shit?  I have to play as this stupid little green thing and tap the screen like an idiot while the CPU does the actual platforming stuff?  Fuck this shit.  :::turns game off:::."

legends has new stage with touch screen control,in the vita/wii u version rayman runs automaticaly and you move obstacle with the touch screen but in the ps3/360 version they play like normal level and you interact with the touch screen element by pressing circle/B when you are near them

most of the level from origin are in legend so i see no mistake there

noticed I had a Genji 2 demo from 2006 on my PS3 so I tried that out of curiosity.  I never knew the consensus on the game other than the jokes about it from E3, and maybe the demo is misrepresenting the final game, but it's really very bad.  The camera is straight busted.

Resistance is a solid game, not to knock it, but it makes sense why people propped it up when this was the alternative.

Really impressed with Rayman Legends demo.

This one level sold the game for me.

And then it gets even better on speed runs, fuck yes.

Anyone know if the retail game is this consistent in its challenge? It's not hard, but it's still good enough to work the brain.

Adding to wish list.

Sitting here looking for a 360 wired controller to play The Bureau with. So if I find one that's what I'm gonna play.

I finished up Splinter Cell yesterday. Man that is a great start to something, but I don't know if the sales will be there to allow them to get to next gen and continue on with this Sam's saga.

Started Id's Rage.

Holy shit at this game. It is sexy as hell. The level start screens in multiplayer look like concept artwork. Hot dignity damn if it doesn't play at 60 fps consistently in multiplayer. I've only played the Road Rage and Legends of the Wasteland modes, no singleplayer. Not sure if I want to get into that or just keep co-op going until its done.

Also started Tornado Outbreak and Wreckateer.

I'm willing to bet money that Tornado was a lighthearted cartoon about a pesky, mischievous tornado wrecking cartoon towns, and then KONAMI decided that would be insensitive, so they strapped on some crazy, crap ass story about ALIENS. There are discount motion comic movies which are just remarkably bad.

Wreckateer is less bad, but the controls are surprisingly poorly implemented, to the point where I can't even understand how the game is disconnecting from a correct interpretation of my input, e.g. I move left to aim, the game shows my Avatar moving left, but the aim swings wildly in the opposite direction. Sometimes it seems remarkably sensitive, and other times not, and still other times WHAT ARE YOU DOING levels of wrong.

BCV: Battle Construction Vehicles
Very strange game. As the name suggests, you fight using construction vehicles such as cranes, bulldozers and excavators. It is what would result if you removed every but the most cheesiest options from a regular fighting game. The basic goal is to stun-lock your opponent for 1% damage per hit for as long as possible, as any precision strikes using the actual attacks (frontal, right swipe, left swipe) are too difficult to land most of the time. If you do, they do a lot more damage per hit and can even be charged up, but again, the vehicles are too cumbersome to do that most of the time, so you best cheese your way through.
To prevent it from being completely braindead (but I imagine somewhat playable in VS mode), the special attacks were designed in such a way as to punish exactly that tactic. If a vehicle takes a certain amount of hits (not damage, hits; which is why I think they are a stunlock counter more than anything) a circle of construction tape appears around it. If the opponent touches it, the special attack is unleashed. Dodging these when you have your opponent pinned to the wall, chipping away at them, is nearly impossible with all vehicles except the crane.
As you might imagine, some vehicles have it easier than others. The smaller ones like the bulldozer, road roller and fork lift have a much smaller turning circle and move a lot faster. The road roller is king of the roost overall (and has to be fought twice in a row before the final boss), as merely touching the drum at the front, even from the side, will make you take damage. Thrilling stuff.

It's a very dumb but entertaining game. The story is appropriately crazy and takes some ludicrous/anime twists and turns. There's drama, romance, a crane driving dog sensei, a twist, another twist involving the romance and a gay couple responsible for the best cutscene in the game.

Nah, definitely play the single-player mode. The open-world, car-driving stuff isn't very good, but the actual shooting and "dungeons" are absolutely great, some of the best run-and-gun in years.

The multiplayer is garbage, lol. Legends of the Wasteland is just a series of co-op stages, like 6 in total.

Single player is aight. RAGE is just another game that DID NOT NEED MULTI. Fuck multi.

I'm baffled by the very concept that Id could make a game with crap multiplayer, but I've been out of the loop since Quake 3, so I don't know what I'm talking about.
