Well shit, I'm only 20 minutes into the game, so maybe I'm wrong. I remember remember reading that it had a lot more sidequests than IoG, though

But Terranigma never came out in the US, clearly that makes it awesome.

Seiken Densetsu 3 sucks, I will never finish this crapfest. The menus are laggy, half the mechanics are broken, and you can pretty much button-mash your way through the game from start to finish. The music is great and I like the idea of class progression, but my GOD is it boring.

Time to bathe in the nostalgic goodness of Secret of Evermore.

Actually, I'm torn between Evermore and Terranigma, mostly because I've never played Terranigma. What do you nerds think?

Terranigma, deffo. Too much grinding in Evermore, and I hated the alchemy system. The music was really good and very original for the time - ambient, tribal, and Philip Glass-style minimalism.

whoa whoa whoa, the music in Terranigma is like that?!  I was thinking of giving it a DL, but that'll push me over the fence.  My nigma.

Ehhh, no that is Evermore, the soundtrack was the first game soundtrack done by Jeremy Soule, famous for Morrowind and a buncha PC games soundtracks. It's really original as far as RPG soundtracks go, tho.

I actually remember reaching the final boss in SD3, not sure if it beat him though.

Got 1550/1550 in Fallout 3. Mothership Zeta was pretty lame, I just spent the whole time shaking my head at the pure stupidity of those aliens. Why did they mess with Earth? distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

Up to level 40 in Shadow Complex now, and the games still fun! Doing an Insane only run through now.

Up to level 3-4 In hardcore mode in Splosion Man. Fuck those loser flying robots in the ass. Sooooo annoying

Does the game get better? I put it down after a couple of hours (I was in a Mako Reactor in Midgar) becuase I got a bit bored. Im thinking about picking it up again.

Batman AA, Soul Calibur BD, Soul Calibur IV, SF4, BlazBlue, and even some KOF XII.  The latter is still not patched, and when I tried the 360 version tonight, I found a whopping ONE other person online!   :lol

I love CC, but I'm a big Nomura fan.  I thought the story was great outside the genesis plot which is stupid but doesn't really bring it down, I loveeeeed the roulette wheel, and I thought the music was fantastic.  The optional quests were kinda blah, but I just didn't do too tons of them.

The beginning is definitely the weakest cause it's just running around Midgar and some crappy village.  It picks up and Niblehelm or however you spell it is great and so is a lot of cutscenes along the way.  The ending is like BEST ENDING EVER too, which helps.  Although I dunno how the dub is, so that could lessen the impact of some of the more dramatic stuff.  The Japanese Zack is soooooooooo good.

Played Guitar Hero 2, which kicks ass over GH3. Achievements are not fantastic, but they're not as rigid and dry rectal penetrating as GH3's are. There are some mean ones, but they're not cackling mean like Neversoft's initial offerings were.

:bow HMX :bow2

Not fond of how many covers are included instead of originals. I guess Red Octane and Activision were still just finding out that it's a money-printing device and not a niche title.

Also going back to Crackdown and doing the street racing mode for those 170 Achievement points. That game. It's stunning how well it's held up for a 2.5 year old title.

Lunar 2, somewhere in the second disk and it's really starting to wear on me... seems like nothing but long dungeon after long dungeon, and the plot isn't really advancing too much, we're just wrapping up loose ends.

My replacement PS3 broke and lost all my Disgaea 3 data.  :'(

So to fill my saccharin, chibi Japanese RPG void I've picked up Blue Dragon again. The game runs a bit more smoothly when installed onto the 360. The frame rate still drops from time to time, but the battles are noticeably quicker.

Also on the menu:

Wonderboy series- Played through Wonderboy 2 and 3, and now I'm working on W4 (aka Dragon Curse).

Shadow Complex- 80% done and still loving every minute of it.

Turrican 2- Went through hell to set up WinUAE just to play this again.

Dune (Genesis version)- Was aching for some old school RTS to play on the PSP and this was the only option I could find. Being the oldest of school in RTSs it's still pretty addicting to play.

Aztaka- Stumble upon this by accident and was quite surprised that I've never heard of it before. I've only played the demo so far but found the game to my liking. Lots of nicely drawn art and ambient music in this. Here's a gameplay vid:

And i think thats it for my gaming spree. Finished FF Tactics, Killzone Liberation and Crisis Core.

I liked Crisis Core a lot and Zack was very cool. Was interesting to see how he slightly changes throughout the game and how the path to his eventual fate unfolds. Can also see why people would be pissed at Genesis (85-90% of his lines were from Loveless  :lol) but he was alright. The missions also were ok since i don't really mind repetition, plus the combat was enjoyable (mainly due to the DMW/Roulette Wheel).

And that final act was just so wrong  :'(, especially with the music.

spoiler (click to show/hide)

that battle with the soldiers at the end was the highlight for me

the song playing during the fight
The DMW wigging out
its a fight you have to lose no matter how hard you try
the fact that the turks where looking to save you but they wouldn't make it.
final talk with cloud

 :'(

If i was to give it a score i would say a solid B+ (A- when being "really" positive).

Back to the topic of playing, i do have Half Life 2 but school is back again so i'll see how that goes

Playing FFX...I get about an hour and a half a night to play, which isn't nearly enough.

just finished the worst part of the game (the blitzball tournament.)

This was one of the first games I played when I got back into gaming, since the last game I had really gotten into before quitting was FF7.  I liked it back then, but I can appreciate it more these days.  Awesome music and pretty good characters.  it's a little bright and cheery to me, but that's fine.

I've been playing a bit of Demigod lately. It has some serious problems. The matchmaking takes forevvvvveeeeerrrrrrrr. At least 3 minutes to find a match every time  :yuck. And there is still significant lag, which makes an online only game that much less enjoyable when you fuck up two of the most important parts.

And the community is generally pretty shitty. I swear I was playing against Borys several games earlier today. Some Eurotrash called SnakeBlades was spamming "noob, you suck, etc." when I was on his team. I ended up playing against him in a different game and he would talk shit over chat the entire time. He was the lowest levelled player in the game, so I don't think he was even actually playing to win, only to kill other demigods and then talk shit. We were stomping the other team, but in retrospect I wish that we had all focused on just killing that guy instead of playing the game to win.

I barely played any games in the past week.  Only two hours of Dissidia, which is pretty fun, and an hour of random iphone games (Spider, the best iphone game, and Minigore, the first iphone game with a fake analog stick that didn't blow).  Less-than-casual gaming is not very productive.

Cortana definitely sucks. I played it alone for the first time last week, with a bunch of skulls on, to wrap up some achievements. Not fun at all.

The only other weak level is Crow's Nest IMO, but it's 50x better than Cortana. Even the Library is better than Cortana.

I'm on the last chapter of FF4 After Years. I made the grave mistake of not grinding and farming good equipment in the bonus dungeons it seems, because all my characters are weak as fuck and the final chapter has SHIT for treasure. I dont even know who's good to use... I just picked some strong characters and at least a Black and White mage.

It was free and FF4 is the best final fantasy so its like getting gangraped by nostalgia that only muckhole and Joe Molotov can provide. ESPECIALLY the last chapter...

The encounter rate is astronomical though... literally can happen after 2 steps.

Playing FFX one hour at a time.   Forgot how much fun switching characters on the fly is.  It only kinda sucks when you want to keep your characters balanced and you throw people in out of obligation to get exp on the easier fights where it's not necessary.

UNLESS-- is there ever a point where you're forced to use Kimhari?  I wouldn't use him if I didn't have to.  I seem to remember needing him at some point on my last play through.  but the guy is kinda useless...his overdrive sucks.  I guess piercing attacks are good, but once you get Auron, that's taken care of.

I'm at part 9 in Uncharted and am starting to get pretty bored with the game.  There are only so many foreign guys you can shoot...especially when they take 5 shots each to kill.  The character models, the stun animations...getting sick of it all.

Smash is pretty good if you give it some time and have any friends at all to play local vs. with.  The adventure mode sucks though.  I never liked any of the smash games before but I really enjoyed the Wii one with a friend or two or three.
