Congratulations on finishing a game, Cormacaroni. After my first kid was born, I never ended up finishing Ocarina of Time. 2nd kid, I decided to get into manga, because at least they age well; ended up going back to the series 4 years later...  :P

Enjoying Bully, at 66% now and just about to enter the darkest arc for poor Hopkins.

Also playing Beatles Rock Band and realizing that, while part of the fun of RB2 is learning new songs, part of the frustration of Beatles RB is realizing that I DON'T know or sing the song well enough to five-star on Expert. Still, it's a lot of fun. Thank goodness no-one took Sir Paul seriously when he advocated for photorealistic models. A bunch of Uncanny Valley Beatles would only reinforce the fact that half these guys are dead.

Hey, I'd play Brawl+ if I had the time to figure out how to use it and if I still had friends who were interested in playing Brawl.

I got Windosill finally since it was $2.99 on Steam and I dunno why I didn't get this back when it came out.  I guess it was because the "demo" version pimped on gaf was 50% of the entire game so it was like "hmm, that's good enough".

Game was awesome.  Best flash game I've played and between this and Machinarium I'm getting really impressed with the amount of high quality games you can do in flash.  Also Windosill shows that vectors are godly.  The animation is soooooo good.  Loved it.

Picked up Dead Space and L4D for Xbox 360 on the real cheap, so I guess I'll be playing those. Not sure about L4D after playing the PC version, though. Other than that, plodding away towards Suljeva in KZ2, and finding collectibles in BF Bad Company.

Earlier I played the Wolfenstein demo again since the below $30 price on Amazon was tempting.  Then I was considering holding off a few days and just getting Operation Flashpoint 2, which is under $40 from release.  Then I started thinking about WW2 and a tactical game and remembered Brothers in Arms Hells Highway, looked up on Amazon, and the Limited Edition for that game was under $20.  I ended up just playing Crysis Warhead.

First time I tried Crysis with my new graphics card and I can run it on very high with +30 fps most of the time.  On my 8800gt, it would hover around 20 fps on high.  Playing it with visuals at the best, it really is amazing how this still looks quite a bit better than any other game.  The game itself is still fun, and playing it on a harder difficulty now is actually kinda easier, if that makes any sense.  I guess not having enemies glowing red and being able to control the turret while driving makes me play more cautious by nature.

I thought I'd play some Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 today, but that didn't happen.  Ending up playing Street Fighter IV, beating my shit-talking friend 21-9.  That was fun.    :P  I think I am gonna load up NGS2 now...it's 1am, but fuck it...it's the weekend.

I just finished collecting all the gold and collectibles yesterday. Such a good game. In fact I think I'll go finish the last level I have in the hard campaign right now.

It really annoys me though that weapons don't stay between missions. I developed a crush on the PP2000 (best SMG in a game, ever), but lost it once the next level loaded. Same with the VSS.

Oh yeah, and how in the hell can anyone play L4D on console? I guess ignorance is bliss, so maybe it seems reasonable if that's the only version you have, but this feels borderline unplayable to me.

Yeah, Crysis is soooo good.  I still need to play Warhead!  But I've got plenty of time before Crysis 2 hits to do that :)

I also picked up a used copy of Bad Company earlier tonight, gonna reacquaint myself with fps stuff and online play before Borderlands comes out.

Its relatively simple.  They have programs which set up your sd card to run it automatically when you go into the stage builder.   No hbc required.  Doing custom soundtracks is a little more complicated.

I was considering it along with Boy and his Blob as game to do the TRU deal with, but I remembered that I still haven't played enough of house of the dead overkill and didn't really feel like I wanted another rail shooter yet.  It looks good, like, the visuals and the game itself.

I'm playing it now, and it's really good. Biggest problem is that it feels like it needs a few more chapters. It gradually builds up to a perfect tension and difficulty then just ends. I know this is a generation of short games and that an on rails shooter certainly wasn't going to be any different, but it's a bit disappointing.

I would play it but I heard there's no saving/checkpoints and you have to do an entire 20-30 min stage in one go?

Pretty much.  If there were checkpoints every ~5 minutes where you could turn off the game and come back to that spot, the game would be much more enjoyable.  It is a chore to do more than one stage at a time.

Yeah that's about the only problem I have with it too.  I just keep my Wii on and leave it paused for a few hours if I need to go do something.

Really though, I recommend you all at least rent it or something, it's about the best type of shooter the Wii has seen in its run as a console.  Definitely my favorite third-party Wii game.

I'll probably play it eventually because I do like light gun shooters (loved HoTD Overkill) and the Dead Space franchise.  With all the dozens of big games out every week now that it's fall/winter again, it's not going to get high priority since it's not just something I can pick up and play for a little.

Playing Valkyrie Chronicles after collecting dust for months and not feeling it.

srpgs really bore me, only one that I loved was Arc the Lad Collection and the PS2 one, they were like srpgs for the casualfag like me and with interesting characters/story.

its still a pretty fun game. Playing it reminds me how much i want fixed for modern warfare 2 though, one example being the shitty spawn system.

I love spawning next to a teamie who just got mowed down with a p90 and having no time to react before I also die

I've just been going through random shooters because I guess I just really want to play shooters

finished Crysis Warhead.  I played a bit of regular Crysis between my two playthroughs of Warhead, and this time around, I felt like the original Crysis was actually a lot better (save for the last part of Crysis).  Warhead is still great, but it is a lot more linear and more about action instead of giving you different ways of approaching a scenario.

played a bit of SOCOM; it sucked.

played a bit or Resistance 2 on casual (since people were saying it was better on casual instead of normal) and it still sucked, just was less frustrating.

played two missions of CoD4 on 360; still don't like the campaign.

played The Club :rock :rock :rock

Retro Game Challenge

Halo 3 multiplayer.

So I was just in a game of Team BRs (well, two games ago). Team Slayer at Narrows, 4 on 4.

I realize I'm not some uber player, so far be it from me to criticize, but how am I the only person on my team with a headshot? It's Team freaking BRs. Get some headshots and try to win, for crying out loud.

You only get medals for a headshot if you do it with the sniper rifle. Your teammates must have stuck with BRs.

Neat, good job dude.

I haven't 1000'd a single X360 game since the easy 1000 launch titles.  Closest I got was probably Bioshock at 910.  On the PS3 the only game I've 100%'d is Pinball Hall of Fame, but it's kind of gimped with only doable trophies instead of the impossible ones on the X360 version.

I've only got 100% on two games.  On PS3, infamous.  On 360, Banjo Nuts and Bolts.  Main reason was because they were the types of games that I would attempt to get 100% in anyway.  Banjo Nuts and Bolts multiplayer achievements were the only time I went out of my way.  And if you include XBLA games, I did 200/200 Banjo Kazooie.

Banjo Nuts and Bolts was actually a really good game.  I want a sequel but Rare is probably forced by work on some Natal shit because the Fable guy who has big ears.

I would've gone for 1000 in infamous but I didn't want to play it on hard cause it was already kinda tough on normal in some parts and also because I didn't want to play the entire game again.  It takes a lot to make me replay any game longer than 5-10 hours.

Been plodding through KZ2, trying to get to some of the cooler levels since my old save won't work on this machine, but it's a drag. The game looks absolutely amazing still, combat is great (feels like the patches increased general movement speed) and I'm starting to get a deeper respect for their level designers after going through the ridiculously intricate and well designed Blood Meridian/Visari Square mission again, but the game really only has one gear. I don't understand how people can play through these missions 4-5 times. Just got the flame thrower.

Well, I meant to get back to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 last night and today, but ended up playing Street Fighter IV again.  Ran into Robo J in a Championship match; gave me flashbacks to the Bore tourney!   :lol

I'm back to learning Sakura again, which meant I got my ass kicked for most of the night.  There were fewer people on though, so I kept running into the same guys multiple times, and it was fun extracting revenge of them after beating me badly as Sakura with Chun-Li.  One guy, who barely beat me the first time, got so frustrated at how badly I was schooling him with Chun (just keeping him away from me with multiple pokes and fireballs, and blocking his green hand...basically shutting his whole lame "spam lariat, jump in, hand, attempt 360" game completely) that he just gave up midway through the second round, when he hadn't even hit me, and let me finish him.  The highlight of that match was in the first round, when I just kept throwing fireballs, building up my super meter, and he just stood on the other side of the screen taunting, which makes zero sense since he had less life than I did.  There was no reason for me to go over there.   :lol

You really had me sweating.  I've been having some problems with that Chun vs. Bison match-up lately.  A lot of Chun's are on to the fact that her crouching MP (I think that's the one) annihilates just about everything he's got -- standing HK, standing MK, crouching MK, and even scissor kicks (!) -- making zoning nearly impossible and dangerous.  Her pokes in general are perfect for stopping that nasty Dictator zoning dead in its tracks.  That, coupled with her good air-to-air shit and general mix-up, makes that probably my toughest match at the moment, save maybe Boxer.  Fortunately for me, she's one of the least used characters! 8)

The long-reaching crouching punch?  Yeah, that's C. MP.  It does wonders on Giefs, too.

The rare match-ups for me are El Fuerte, Abel, Gouken, Dan, Sakura, Rose, Gen, Fei-Long, and Dhalsim.  I almost never get matches against those characters.  There's still way too many Ryu, Sagat, and Akuma users.  Guess it's better than flowchart Ken.

What bores me is when fighting people who do the same tired shit with Sagat (who I now think is easy as shit to beat, you just have to watch out for his strength), Zangief, Balrog, Ryu, Akuma (oh boy, run away and fireball, then teleport and repeat...zzzzzz), and Blanka.

I've gotten 200/200 in a number of games. The only blatant points grab on my profile Dash of Destruction.

I got over 1000 in Banjo Nuts and Bolts and Halo 3 regular, but only because of DLC. I'm still missing 2 of the 5-point original achievements in vanilla Halo 3. You can only get them in one playlist, in very specific scenarios that rarely occur, so I doubt I will ever get them. 1740/1750 will have to be enough lol.

roommate and i split the difference and bought a used ps2 and mgs3: snake eater. jesus christ so many cutscenes, and the dialogue is pretty ham-handed. i'm enjoying the game when i'm playing it, though, but i do miss mgs4's camera.

Chapter 15 of Valkyria Chronicles, I hope to have it beaten by next weekend, too bad I'm stuck at a Trinidadian wedding all next Sunday, my usual gaming day (maybe I can meet a cute Trinidadian girl there at the very least).

Easily my favorite PS3 game so far, I own more 360 games but for exclusives, I like the PS3 ones better than the 360 ones.

Yup exactly, I'm really starting to warm up to the PS3 after being so cold on it for a while... love its interface, its free online/wifi (even though I don't bother with online usually), the DS3 feels more comfortable than the 360 controller, etc.

But with the PS3, even the American/Euro exclusives are great and have much more color/nicer art style than the brown and grey of the average 360 game (exception being Killzone 2).

Still frustrating myself on Beatles:RB vocals, thinking I've got something down pat, and then not being able to sing my way out of a paper sack. A wet paper sack. Mulchy.

At 83% or so on Bully now, after clearing the Vale races, New Coventry races, and all the go-cart stuff. Unlocked the go-cart and moped, but still have to slum it on the bikes until I get my 100km there. Actually had a couple of neat close calls in melee combat, as Townies are a little tougher, and they tend to throw a firecracker at Jimmy to soften him up. Still loving it, but the graphics are looking increasingly rough.
